  1. I love to "discuss" things, but frankly, "discussing" something outrageous that Rush Limbaugh or any of the other talking heads says is a waste of time. 99% of the time they only said it so that people will talk about them.
  2. Since no one else has, I will. Howard Hawkes, who "discovered" Bacall and directed To Have and To Have Not, directed Bacall to keep her chin down during her scenes with Bogart.
  3. Pie are round. (and chocolate pie is good) That's all the math I know.
  4. She wasn't a great actress, but when she played with Bogie, it was magic. To Have and To Have Not is a classic. One of the sexiest lines in the movies. "You know how to whistle, don't you, Steve? You just put your lips together and....blow." One of my favorite lines from that movie. Eddie (played by Walter Brennan): Was you ever bit by a dead bee? Her movies with Bogie are worth watching. Key Largo is a good movie, but Edward G. Robinson and Claire Trevor steal the show. If you watch The Big Sleep, don't worry so much about the plot, just enjoy the ride.
  5. Guarddad got me a set of these, but I haven't figured out how to work then yet.
  6. Jonathan Winters visited the "happy farm" as he called it occasional, several times
  7. It used to be that you could shoot criminals when they ran. Ahhh, the good old days.
  8. Perhaps the word swell doesn't have a lot to do with the looks you get. Just saying.
  9. Ever watch cops? What is the first thing every criminal and those around them say? "I (they) didn't do nothing!"
  10. What would you expect the looters to say, the man was trying to kill the policeman but was killed himself?
  11. What would be the response from the media if the tweets were from white people advocating the looting and "tearing up" of black neighborhoods or the killing of black people?
  12. Nothing says justice more than a new pair of free sneaks.
  13. Go away kid, you bother me. :said in my best WC Fields voice:
  14. I actually have heard the broadcast, several times. They replay it every October on XM Radio, on the Olde Time Radio Shows channel (channel 82).
  15. This "instant" communication has the potential to cause major panic. The "Martian" invasion by Orson Welles's radio program in 1938 is an example of what can happen. And for one more example, in 1973, Johnny Carson made several jokes about there being a toilet paper shortage. They were just jokes, but due to the a large part of the public believing him and saying there was a shortage and word of mouth spreading, people went to the stores and bought all the toilet paper they could get. Thus actually causing a shortage. I worked in a grocery store at this time and we constantly told people
  16. Quote from The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance. (this quote is attributed to being written by the director of the picture, John Ford) "This is the West, sir. When the legend becomes fact, print the legend."
  17. If you cannot see a difference between getting out of your car for an accident at a red light and getting out of a race car on a race track and running out to the middle of the track during the race, then there is no reason for us to debate the matter. We will just have to agree to disagree.
  18. Well then, how many murders has this guy investigated? Perhaps they should hire Monk....or Columbo.....or the boys from Psych, they have investigated a lot of murders.
