Minorities were given the right to vote in 1869. Didn't mean minorities could vote. You're missing the point. Not the same issue. This is about the systemic discrimination. Employers do not have to pay women the same as men and the numbers show we aren't. Women are not treated the same in other areas of employment as shown by the fact women are not represented in areas of leadership proportionally the same as society's composition. It could go on but you can see that while there is no law that discriminates, the reality is there is discrimination.

We certainly have "rights," but these rights are not always enforced, can be ignored, and do not do much to stop the disproportionate amount of physical and sexual violence perpetrated against women every day. Don't women have rights? Yes, we do. But they are not stable rights like those afford to white men. They are not rights that are always abided by, and they are not always equal rights to men. And the rights specifically for women, as in reproductive and health rights are an ever-changing joke, where states run predominantly by men decide what women can and cannot do with their bodies
