Finally some progress! More to go but getting there. http://fortune.com/2016/10/16/global-warming-hfcs-deal/

If the state has the answers to fix a failing school, why doesn't it share the answer with the school systems now? It's because the state doesn't have the answer. The problem with these schools is there is an extremely high prevalence of poverty and all the associated problems that come with being poor. All this bill would do is let the state eventually say that a privatized option is the next step and that would mean businesses can get to public tax money. This is a sham by the Georgia legislature and is pushed by ALEC that bought and paid for our representatives.

There will be more challenges to these laws, I'm sure. I don't believe for a minute that a person's views on the world or politics or anything else makes them stupid, a moron, or any other caustic or demeaning term. I believe a person is what his words and actions make him out to be. Nice and honorable people of character will be known by a gentle spirit and kind words. I also know that the extreme right wing view of the world like you have will be a thing of the past over the next several decades as the demographic of the country changes to a younger, more educated, more brown, more

There was already a court case on this and the ruling was it was unconstitutional. I'm guessing you just missed the article in my other post because that is what it was about. Companies can require drug testing because they are private but the government is obligated to the constitution. At least that is what the judge said. That is not "stupidity" but I'm guessing you just didn't read the newspaper article. No worries. What Gore was talking about was the conditions caused by global warming that made the wildfire so dangerous and able to spread so easily. He was not saying global warmi

I don't think you read my comment correctly. I said "welfare recipients" meaning all recipients in total, while you were doing the math based on "number tested."

http://www.miamiherald.com/news/politics-government/article1958891.html Tennessee tried it. So did Utah. It cost them much more than it would have saved. Only 65 in all of TN. Less than 3% in Utah. There are about the same number of scientists that don't believe in Global Warming than there are welfare recipients who use drugs.

Let me repeat it again. Is it an open-and-shut fact-check case? Maybe not. Andreas Schleicher, a top education analyst at the OECD, had some final thoughts for NPR Ed. "It is not possible to establish meaningful relationships between the cost of higher education and attainment, as there are too many intervening variables," he said. (Translation: This armchair exercise is a bit futile.) "However, it is clear that growth in attainment in the U.S. has been particularly low and cost is likely an impediment to this. Many European countries provide free public higher education and in virtual

You can't pick and choose. There are many more variables in educational comparisons. The article even says so. At the end it says other variables account for this discrepancy. Why didn't you quote that part of the article? Is it an open-and-shut fact-check case? Maybe not. Andreas Schleicher, a top education analyst at the OECD, had some final thoughts for NPR Ed. "It is not possible to establish meaningful relationships between the cost of higher education and attainment, as there are too many intervening variables," he said. I am serious. Science has predicted these things and shown them to be true. Poverty is a major factor in crime and lack of education.
-
This is what science tells us will happen when poverty, social injustice, inadequate health care, few opportunities, and decades upon decades of discrimination are concentrated on groups of people, especially those that live in close proximity to one another. Seen this before.

OMG! I know him! I can't believe this. -
I wrote about my friends in Kansas a few weeks ago and how they were thinking about leaving the state or the profession completely because of the disaster that is going on there. I got this link in my email today from a friend who has only been teaching there for a year. It is getting even worse and I fear this is coming to many other states. http://www.kansas.com/news/local/education/article92803827.html Then I found this from a search. https://www.yahoo.com/news/kansas-budget-pressures-trigger-p-rating-downgrade-213708270--business.html?ref=gs Plus this 1. http://www.startribune.com/h

What does it matter? Other presidents have done the same. Christians are not the only group out there. If there is a greeting for one group there has to be greetings for all.

Haven't we aways had terrorist attacks in America? I did a search and found a lot of them. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Terrorism_in_the_United_States There have been more anti-aboortzion terrorist acts than anything else. That doesn't mean everyone who is against aboortzion is a terrorist.

I did a search for information on this and found this is not accurate. Non-partisan research says it is not hurting the states. Conservative advocacy groups say otherwise, but the non-propaganda information says differently. http://kff.org/medicaid/issue-brief/the-effects-of-the-medicaid-expansion-on-state-budgets-an-early-look-in-select-states/ http://ccf.georgetown.edu/all/evidence-medicaid-expansion-helps-state-budgets/ http://www.cbpp.org/health-reforms-medicaid-expansionhttp://statenetwork.org/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/Medicaid-Expansion-States-See-Significant-Budget-Savings-a

Just wondering why we're not praying for Istanbul like we did for Paris.
-
No. You can't boil it down to stupid and lazy verses smart and hard working. That is not anywhere near true.
-
Because that is not true. What is true is that college educated parents tend to have kids that do better in school and make more money, but it is also true that more wealthy school districts do better than more poor districts. Poverty, health, job opportunities, social services and other factors all go into how well an educational system does. It is very complicated and you can't boil it down to a trite statement.
-
Educational success is almost exclusively tied to parental income, poverty rates, and the educational success of the parents (not 100% but there is a strong correlation). Look at the incomes and the percentage of college degrees in the population in GA vs KS, and you will see the correlation. But you're trying to deflect this discussion again. The problems in KS is one of destroying a good system. My friends and the reports are saying something completely different than what you're saying. Completely. I just don't understand your need to manipulate every conversation to a certain political vie
-
Why are you talking about California when I was talking about the problems in Kansas? Don't deflect this. Kansas has serious problems with their educational system and my friends are worried about the whole thing coming down. That is the topic I am talking about!

Other than the delusional and contradictory phone call, the FBI has found no connection with any radical Islamic group He was crazy.

I have a few friends that went back to their home state of Kansas to teach. They are now telling me that they are not going back to their job there after just one or two years, but are going to neighboring Missouri to teach because of how bad it has gotten in Kanas. This is crazy! http://abcnews.go.com/US/wireStory/kansas-borrow-900-million-cover-fiscal-year-40060847

I know you could always go to the exchange but I just thought you couldn't be on your spouse's employer plan if your job offered it. That's what I thought the rule is now.
