  1. Ours was unchanged, except for the routine rate increases and increase in usage. Which power company do you have?
  2. Roadtrip for me and my daughter when Aldi opens. She has been to the one on Floyd Road and loves it but I've never been so I'm looking forward to it. Also looking forward to SOMETHING other than Kroger.
  3. I'll go you one better than synced cycles. At my orthopaedists office, there are two of the employees who have worked together for over 30 years. They sound alike on the phone, wear their hair very similar and in some respects have begun looking like each other. I knew both of them when they first started working there and they looked NOTHING alike. Now, they do. Uncanny. In some ways, makes me glad I left there 30+ years ago. There could be THREE of us who look alike. Well, that would be preferable to me looking like the doctor.
  4. Congratulations to everyone. Remind me that you get an extra hug next time I see you.
  5. I had the great (mis)fortune of having all three daughters and myself on different schedules. So, you know what that meant, right? The whole MONTH someone was bitchy. Sometimes, two or more someones were bitchy.
  6. They do have to pay interest in certain circumstances. Right off hand, I can't remember the reasons why but I have seen interest statements from them. I'd LOVE to see the IRS closed up. My daughter and SIL went to a tax prep place and their refund was delayed a week. Obviously, they did not use an online tax program.
  7. Seems to be the filing date that is the problem. I found this online: http://www.abcnews4.com/story/16969508/irs-announces-nationwide-delay-of-tax-refunds If you're one of the early birds who got your taxes done already and are looking forward to that tax refund, you may need to wait a little longer. A computer problem has caused a nationwide delay with tax refunds being released. According to the Internal Revenue Service most of the refund affected are the ones filed between February 2 and February 7.
  8. I can vouch for this. That picture IS of Johnny Jacobs. Handsome devil.
  9. What I was saying was you can go to ANY of the voting places that are open. Precincts are not necessarily the places that are open. You're not limited to being able to go to only one certain place, unless it happens to be the only place open. I believe the poster mentioned something at Mt Tabor but also said that was not their usual polling place.
  10. Isn't that the truth! After I'm in bed for 3-4 hours, it takes an act of Congress to turn over in the bed.
  11. We have a Tempur-Pedic and if I had it to do over again, I'd get something else, preferably a Simmons. The memory foam DOES get hot at night. Great if you're cold-natured but a bear if you're not or if you're menopausal. I HONESTLY believe that the reason we hurt so much when we get up is our mattress. We've been traveling a lot this winter and I tend to wake up with less stiffness and pain in a coil mattress. Didn't know for certain until I spent 3 out of 5 weeks elsewhere.
  12. You can go anywhere in your county when you vote early. Our normal precinct is at Austell Intermediate but we went to the location on Whitlock to vote early. We actually went to a different one, not realizing it was not open until today (we went on Thursday, I believe). The ONLY Louisiana politician I would want to see on the ballot is Bobby Jindal. I would vote for him. Heck, I'd work his campaign! He rocks.
  13. 161 views and the topic was started two days ago? Seems like there was a good deal of interest. Maybe the problem is there was nobody who could help.
  14. I had never seen this done until a recent trip to Florida. It was really cool to see how they did it.
  15. Posts requesting services, even if not requesting them from a provider just asking who to call, are to be placed in "Wanted Goods and Services". If you make a post and can't find it, send a PM to a mod and they can help you locate it. They're pretty good people. Most of them, anyway. The mods can't be everywhere and see everything, so often threads don't get moved. Generally, at least as far as I have noticed, most do. Maybe someone reports them, I don't know. Maybe mods are online and see the posts. I don't know.
  16. I agree with you about this. My uncle, a long-time Democrat, would be rolling in his grave now if it knew what his chosen party had become.
  17. No, there is a Democrat primary ballot and a Republican primary ballot. The Republican primary ballot has a number of candidates listed while the Democrat primary ballot has ONE--Obama. However, since other issues are being voted on at this time, such as the mayor's race in Hiram and the Sunday alcohol sales in a number of other locations, those will be on BOTH ballots. Here's a link to the DEMOCRAT preference ballot in Cobb. http://elections.cobbcountyga.gov/pdf/2012/WebDemocraticSampleBallotGOLD.pdf Here's a link to the REPUBLICAN preference ballot in Cobb http://elections.cobbco
  18. this from the Newnan Times Herald: Because Georgia's primaries are open, everyone can vote in the Republican presidential primary regardless of party affiliation. There is also a Democratic presidential primary, but Barack Obama is the only person on the ballot. So, the answer to your question JJ is you do NOT have to pick a Republican. If the Sunday alcohol sales question is on the ballot, it will be on either ballot.
  19. Yes he is. You check if you're voting in the Democratic primary or the Republican primary. Here's a link to the primary ballot for Cobb County. http://elections.cobbcountyga.gov/pdf/2012/WebDemocraticSampleBallotGOLD.pdf
  20. WOW! It gave me the candidate that I like but didn't vote for because I don't believe he can beat Obama. And how in the world can I agree with Obama on 43% of the issues? I don't agree with him on 1% of the issues!
  21. I didn't used to be a Republican either until I realized the Democrats were giving away my hard earned money to people who wouldn't work and to countries that hate us.
  22. He quit GE back in the early 1980s. He said he was making more back then than he is now but would not even consider going back to a big corporation because of the atmosphere. He works for a family owned business where he works side-by-side with the owners every day. Says it is worth it not making as much money to be in a more friendly environment. The biggest company I have worked for had about 18 employees. We knew each other well, were friends and nobody thought themselves more important, more powerful or more anything than their co-workers. I just can't imagine working in an enviro
  23. in no certain order: Jaws Gone With The Wind Blazing Saddles Secondhand Lions Dr. Zhivago and I could go on and on.
  24. Obviously, you're not aware of the size of the mosquitoes up north and in Alaska.
  25. Here’s my take on it: She (Andrea) wanted to advance her career so she decided to encourage his (Hemy’s ) infatuation with her. Obviously, she wasn’t opposed to the idea or else she would have gone to HR about it. Anyway, for whatever reason, she encouraged the relationship. Since she had no intention of ever leaving Rusty, she kept telling Hemy that. She didn’t want to be with Hemy, she just wanted to advance her career. Then things turned physical. She still didn’t want to be with Hemy so she kept telling him she wasn’t leaving her husband, which she had no intention of EVER doing
