  1. I'd suggest going anytime but the weekends, it's so crowded it's hard to have a good time. You can't bring in outside food which would include a cake unless you paid for a party.

  2. The life of asphalt is the base. If you have a good base that is properly compacted it is not unusual for asphalt to last 20 years or longer. The drive at our farm was paved in 1970 and is still in good shape with the exception of where some roots from trees caused some heaving.

Asphalt is just a wearing surface. The strength comes from the base.

Concrete has just about been priced out of being feasible for a driveway that size. I'm guessing just the concrete would cost around $26,000.00.

  3. We are in the process of getting our almost 1600 foot long, steep driveway paved. We got a concrete quote and boy it was high. Our driveway dips down, crosses a creek and then goes straight up a hill over a few culverts, so we're wondering how much maintenance it would require if we got asphalt instead of concrete?

  4. I am mad at Rodney's. I wanted it tonight and went there only to find out ther close at 3 on Sundays!!!

And I know someone else that bakes some of the cakes, that do NOT come from a box. Unless they meant they come from their oven to the store stored in a box.

  5. It is fabulous - I'm hooked~! I got my Redbook in the mail and when I read the article on Debra Messing it told all about the mini series and I put it on my TIVO that night. It's great, we're only 2 episodes in, so those of you interested can catch up. Do you think she should go for it with Sam or dump him? Do you think her hubby's boss left her everything? I do.

  6. The restaurants on St. Simon's are not very child friendly. We had to wait at least 30-45 minutes everywhere to eat on top of the same wait to get our food, not fun with a 2 year old and a 4 year old. Also no kid menus where we ended up.

  7. We just got back from St. Simon's, which is an island over and we saw no indication of fires anywhere. However, there is NOTHING for a 16 year old to do there other than ride a bike. My kids are both under 5 and other that go to the beach and the park, there was nothing for them to do either. Search my St. Simon's GA Post and you'll find a good site from a former St. Simon's resident that had many suggestions, I just couldn't do any of them with 2 little kids or being 6+ months pregnant. Good luck and hope you had a better time than I did. All I can say is...boring!

  8. It sucks! We had to have something done for our 4 year old at an outpatient center and they wouldn't pay - it sucks! We owe thousands for it still. Not to mention the per person caps per year which are fairly low, like $3K each and we pay a good bit per month for it. We used to have BCBS and I miss it, they always payed. With United I'm getting billed for everything and have to call and call back and fight some more for things to get rebilled to be payed for. No complaints as to who we can go to, but honestly we hardly ever go to the doctor.

  9. We only have hardwoods now, but I still use it on the floors, the ceiling fans, my car, etc. It was worth every cent of $500, I got the purple one at Target right when they came out and opened an account to get the 10% off, which had probably ended up costing me thousands now that I have a Target card.

  10. I've been trying to sell a similar bed forever and no one will even pay $50 with the mattress which is a great deal! Good luck!
