If the economy is getting better, then why in the world
subby1 replied to subby1's topic in RECENT TOPICS
My house appraised for HALF what I paid about 9 or 10 years ago....and most everyone else's at that time of purchase. BTW, I did refinance a while back. It didn't change the amount, but it did cut the interest WAY DOWN, and knocked a good 300/mo off the payments. -

Ever heard of lay-offs? OMG! They occurred rampantly several years ago, nationwide. Bubble??? Well, for the rest of the nation back then, it burst. I don't recall any of us engineers knowing what was going to happen in the future when we bought our homes with our 1K+/year salaries. Otherwise, we'd have all quit our jobs and played the lotto since we could predict the numbers. You got me...sometime I just like to whine. -

Any particular reason you have a personal bone to pick with me? I find my bubble quite comfortable, btw. -

It has its good points, but I usually will go to a cashier if one is available. That's just me...I like REAL people to deal with. I don't even order fast food from the drive through window because of getting my orders wrong. I know...I'm just an old fart~~ Another example of how little spendable income is- this year, for the very first time, I am receiving MORE calls for used equipment than for repairs. Most can't afford a new mower, and the others have already tried that route and brought the NEW broken down junks to me to fix because the warranties are a joke. Quality really has gone to -
I haven't had enough money to eat out anywhere, but I've been wanting to check this out as soon as I can afford.

Yep...REALLY. Thank you~~ Not last night or any other night for I can't remember how long this year. There was a LONG wait, and a lot of pissed off people leaving their carts on the floor, walking out. When you have about 30 people waiting to use only 2 self check outs, that keep screwing up, and only one sweet young lady, who's about to lose her mind doing her best to keep things flowing, it's certainly a sign O the times to me....and obviously, several others who have posted. -

I have had to help out 4 people in the past year by renting out a room until they can hook up with a family member who can afford to take them in. And I can't charge them much because they have so little in the first place. I guess I'm just glad to be able to help (and I am struggling really bad myself) but as long as I have a roof over my head, then I can offer at least that much help. I have to admit though, it's tough to go for so long renting out rooms. After my divorce I was SO AT PEACE having the place to myself. But, I digress. I can't just sit idly by and watch people live on the stree -
Just a footnote, fire911 is a customer of mine and a VERY CARING and GENEROUS guy! Bless you for your concern about someone else in need, and thank you for chiming in to paulding.com for help. There are a LOT of great people here, and I hope help shows up fast and effective...I'm sure it will.

The Kroger on Ridge Road....ARGGGGG!!! First of all, they "used" to be open 24 hours. Now, it's only until 1:00 a.m. I usually have to work until 10 or 11 at night, so I can't do my shopping until 11 or midnight. Well, at 11:00 p.m. they no longer have a cashier...it's all self checkout with ONE woman (bless her heart!) trying to help everyone. Lat night, there were only two self checkouts working. It was literal HELL, and getting worse all the time. If KROGER can't afford to pay more than ONE person to oversee self check outs, with 50% of them broken, then it would seem, Kroger's budget aint

Same here, but I'm the divorced dad. My kids have a terrific mother, but it seems the attraction of live music and "real time" Karaoke is quite a force for them. It's great to see them have fun without all the lurid junk that goes on elsewhere, and that they are under my supervision all the while.

I haven't received any emails or PM's from anyone, so I'm bumping this again. Most donations usually go to single moms who have kids old enough to mow for them while they are working...just to give you an idea of how to best supply someone who's having a hard time keeping their yard up. So, send those PM's to me. Next mower should be ready by this weekend. Thanks folks, for your kindness and concern for those less fortunate than we may be. Glenn p.s. The PM's do not have to refer to anyone...they can be you if you if you're in need of a mower and can't afford it. I try to choose

Agreed...so why don't WE all pitch in and make it what it was? As far as business, it's terrific...but I do miss a lot of stuff. Heck, I'm member 40 (initially) and that was so many years ago, I've been through 3 wives wince then! (only 2 women, the first was the 3rd)....anyhoo..all you guys have to do is bring up something and let's all blab together. I promise to be more available and stir pots, be nice, be stinky, what ever it takes....or my best talent...Make YOU think!!

You're too sweet!! Thanks!

Thanks to contributions from my local Paulding bunch, I have been able to gather up some used mowers to rebuild. While I resale most of them, I like to donate at least one a month to someone in need, usually single moms who have kids that can operate them and keep up the yards. I will have one ready by the weekend, so please PM me people you know of, and I'll do my best to decide which one needs it the most. This is an honor system, so please only PM me folks that you KNOW really need one. Over the past few seasons I have been able to help out some folks who couldn't afford a mower, and some w

I would guess Spring Break slowed it a bit. Personally, I've been up really late doing paperwork after working in shop all day so I've been unable to gab like I love to do. Luckily my secretary starts tomorrow, so I'll be able to spend some evenings blabbing my big mouth again with you fine folks....don't know if that's a good thing or bad thing for yall...but at least it'll make me happier. I miss you guys!

Personally, I love it!~ It brings in business like never before. I watch what I post and I have NO BANK account, nor pay on line anymore. Just keep your green backs, and keep your postings professional. Simple as that.

Lawn Mower Repairs / Small Engines in Dallas, Hiram
subby1 replied to subby1's topic in Business NEWS
Just bumping this up for folks who said they were having a hard time finding me on here. -
Folks, I am happy that things are finally starting to pick up!! I'm still trying to dig my way out of the proverbial hole that Winter leaves behind, but as things pick up more, I should be okay to provide yall with all the repairs & tuneups you need for this season. Mobile service means most tune ups can be done at your residence. In more dire cases where major work is needed, pick up and delivery is also available for a lot less than you might think (visit my website). I service and repair most all makes of lawn mowers, specializing in push mowers and basic riding mowers. Additio

Only thing about that is it can slow down some programs, especially email. Otherwise okay. I have been using AVAST for as long as I can remember with nothing getting through...just make sure if a new version pops up, download it immediately. The updates are automatic, but occasionally you'll need to download a newer version, which becomes necessary as the folks at AVAST encounter a new bug that requires more than a standard update. I stopped using AVG quite a while back after some viruses got through.

I always thought the Gate To Hell was the check out line at the Wally World in Hiram...you know, the really nasty where 15 items or less includes those who CANNOT count, who use about 120 coupons during the exchange, 4 or more government cheese cards and who take about 15 minutes to write ONE check to cover the shortfall.

I am too! I am enjoying reading the other parents' stories about their own kids. With so much bad for kids to get into, it's great to have them close to you as much as you can.

Being a live stage piano player, you tend to miss out on a lot of your kids growing up. I just wanted to say that I feel so blessed because: My oldest daughter is a phenomenal singer, who likes to spend her time with me on weekends, recording some music. My only other daughter, 2.5 years younger, also loves the same. When you are a divorced man after a 29 year marriage, most men worry about their kids. I also did for a few years, but now, I just wanted to express my joy in the fact that knowing coming to dad's house for a late night jam is among their top digs for entertainment on a weekend.

That is.......I just don't have the words right now.
