I have type II and have been diabetic for 6 years. It sounds like her doctor scared her. There are many diabetic cook books. One diet that have followed is to cut my serving size. I remember when I was growing up, we would get small portions - all we needed. I keep trying to follow that. If she would like to talk to someone who has diabetes, I would be glad to discuss it with her. I am 65.

Absolutely true. Where I am from "advertisement" is correctly pronounced "ad-ver=tiss-ment" and not "ad-ver-tize-ment". When I hear the latter (incorrect) pronunciation, I hear chalk screeching on a blackboard.
