We dodged a bullet here in Apollo Beach, about 25 miles south of Tampa Bay and about 1/2 mile inland; 11 feet above sea level. Amy and I evacuated and stayed with friends whose home is 32 feet above sea level. I moved two cars into storage and they were high and dry. When we got home, there was debris everywhere, a few bent over trees and several fallen trees in our community. The big deal is that the storm surge was far less than what was expected. No flooding!! I'm just happy that we came through Irma unscathed.
