I am very tempted to send them my two expired H/A plates.

Hobby/antique is now 35.00 additional every year to renew. Not worth it.
-
Yup, every year - $35.00 more per tag to renew.
-
Pulleeze, do not provide any ideas to our government. They can be dangerous all by themselves and do not need help.

Here is a good article that explains why electric cars are not selling: http://www.heraldext...a10b17c017.html Wow! 100 miles on a single charge! So, at 60MPH, you travel for 1.7 hours and then have to recharge the damn thing for 16-18 hours. Or, you can do it in 7 hours by installing additional power in your house. Whoops!! If you travelled 100 miles from home, you'd better book additional nights in the motels along the route. Assuming most motels do not have 220 volt power (and assuming they'll let you plug in for 17-18 hours), it would take you between 7 and 8 days to drive

There are so many deals. Be aware that in the summer, the cruise ships sail Alaska and the Mediterranean. Where were you thinking of sailing? Here is a good website for comparison purposes: http://www.vacationstogo.com There are also several travel agents on pcom who you should consult - Cruise Planners is one. As far as choosing a line goes, it really depends on what you are looking for - party boat? Itinerary? Price? My wife and I (so far) prefer Royal Caribbean, Celebrity, and Norwegian. While many like Carnival, we avoid it.

Northeast Snow Storms 1 More Example of Climate Change
AcworthDad replied to zoocrew's topic in RECENT TOPICS
Given who is stating this, this is the most hilarious statement of the New Year!! Why, just capture the hot air expelled by zoo and Pubby alone and we could heat all of GA for the winter months. Prolly not Wintersota though. -
When I renewed my tags in December for my 67 Coronet and my 69 Road Runner, I did not renew my Hobby/Antique tags. I asked the tag office to cross reference new standard tags to my year of manufacture tags which I run on both cars. No cost and no $70.00 prestige tag tax (2 x $35.00). I know a lot of guys with H/A tags who are not renewing them.

Northeast Snow Storms 1 More Example of Climate Change
AcworthDad replied to zoocrew's topic in RECENT TOPICS
Climate change is natural. Your reaction is unrealistic. Thinking that man can do more and affect climate change is just plain crazy. I am not saying we should be irresponsible but stop justifying the politics of climate change with surreal thinking. Why is this not in the political forum? -
My opinion of Kia - waste of good money. You get what you pay for.
-
Yup, hardly anyone wants to buy them.

Too bad. Ford will correct the problem. But, Japan's Toyota set the record for recalls in 2010. I think it was just under 9,000,000,000 cars and they still have not completed all the fixes.
-
I'm not convinced that the statement is fact. While there has been some improvement, the most improvement will occur once Obama is out of office.

Why is this political thread in the Cafe?

Bullitt - Steve McQueen http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GMc2RdFuOxI and all of his others as well. Back in the days when we built real cars and imports were from Germany or England.

Remind me to tell the story about the incompetence and inefficiency of our very own Social Security Administration once I get the problem (their error - a huge one) resolved. There's a reason we do not want the government involved in healthcare.

More from today's WSJ and how Medicare tried to hush-hush their implementation of "end of life" counseling: http://online.wsj.co...EditorialPage_h This is important enough to post the complete article:
-
So funny. I know you know that is a check for an overpayment to the crooks in the IRS. Because the federal government cannot do anything in a logical fashion, And some fools want the epitome of inefficiency and incompetence to manage and control our healthcare. You really have to wonder.
-
Added clarification. I don't need Medicare to consult with me about end of life. Good grief; what a waste of my tax dollars.

I was out this morning. Roads were OK - watch the curves and corners for ice. I've noticed that everything dried up this afternoon.
-
My wife is a chocaholic and will confess to anyone who gives her more.
-
I thought the face looked familiar/ Thanks for explaining why.

Just got home; we were at my daughter's house in Snellville. No ice on the roads but the temperature did drop from 39 to 33 between there and here.

4th Quarter Numbers Show Economy in Solid Growth Mode
AcworthDad replied to zoocrew's topic in RECENT TOPICS
Unemployment is up in Cobb County and foreclosures are still rampant. I just don't see as good an economy as the progressives are stating is happening. In 2103, when we kick P-BO out of office (please, oh, please, Lord!), and replace him with a more capable Republican president, the economy will begin it's true recovery. -
And up, up, up go the prices of energy.
