Thank everyone. I got Steven's number from a couple of people and he is still doing car repairs, which I was very happy to hear. Thanks again.

Thanks for letting me know. Sorry to hear he is out of business.

does anyone know if Johnboy automotive is still doing business. We used Steven several years ago, and I have since lost his card and number. We are needing some ac/heating coil repair done on my son's car. Any information or suggestions on another mechanic would be helpful. Thanks

We did the same last weekend. Me and DH went to do some errands on Sunday and ending up buying a Lexus SUV. Was soooo happy to give up the minivan.

Wish I could enjoy the beautiful morning on the porch.....but off to work Hope everyone enjoys this wonderful morning. "It's beginning to look like FALL!!!!!!!!!!!!!" Enjoy! This is my favorite time of the year

Just wanted to Give a "shout out" to Johnboy Automotive. Our 17 year old just got a car and we took it to him to fix a few things that we knew were wrong when we bought the car. He fixed it for a fraction of the price a service station wanted. He did a great job. It was wonderful meeting him. I have read many wonderful things about him here on p.com. Knowing that he worked on her car and wouldn't let it leave his shop until it was ready and safe for her to drive gives us great peace. We now have a mechanic we can rely on and trust. Thank you Steven. You are the best!!!!!

Brought tears to my eyes. Nervous nellie here, because dd is driving on her own now!

I think a simple cross is fine. I do believe some get carried away with the balloons and bears. There is one on Dallas Hwy with an umbrella. But I understand why the teenagers put up the memorial for their friend. I like what Florida does....they have a small circle..... probably the size of a cantaloupe, with Drive Carefully and then the deceaseds name on it. Very appropriate, but not gawdy. And it is a reminder to all that passes to slow down and to drive more carefully.

Found 2 different versions. One has corn syrup and the other has melted marshmallows. I have used the Wilton version before and it has NO flavor. So I haven't thought about using it again. I will have to make these and see which one I like better. I will let everyone know. I am sure my daughters will have making stuff with these, like little people sleeping with blankets, flowers, elmo etc. Ooohh I can just see their little minds going....

Ok...now 17 year old daughter is in kitchen making cupcakes for tomorrow. We tried this butter cream recipe and I will have to say it is going to be my go to frosting. It was amazing. Thanks for posting My earlier post asked if it would be thick enough for piping and decorations....to answer my own question......YES!!!! Great flavor and it is white. We used clear vanilla extract and unsalted butter. 10 yr old is going to like this frosting better than the other one she used. It was hard for her to make the roses because the one we used was a little soft.

Thanks she had fun doing it.

Maybe I need to set up a table and give FREE samples this summer. Her sister is in the kitchen now making cupcakes. I don't know how much of this I can take......
-
Yes, she is 10 and she did a great job. We did have some tears when she was making it because according to her it wasn't perfect. Had to explain she is only 10 and not a professional and not everyone can do this. She did feel better when her sister and some neighbors saw it and gushed all over her. Oooohhhh Lawd help me if this is what her teen years will be like. Her sister wasn't soooo emotional. I guess there has to be one in every family. She is already wanting to bake another cake. I will be giving pieces of that one away for sure.

THANK YOU....THANK YOU....THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I really appreciate all the help. Thanks for getting it posted. Everyone on hear is great. sorry....everyone on here is great...not hear. To much cake.....can't think right.....brain is clouded with frosting!

I would love to post a picture of it. I am very proud of her. I am trying to upload. Keep getting an error message when I try it as an attachment. It says file too large. Which it isn't it is only a picture of a cake. Tried to copy and paste...not working. Tried to change to flash uploader that didn't work either. Arggg. Why does it have to be so difficult.

Thanks we will have to give the new recipe a try. My 10yr old just decorated a two tier cake this week and we used the recipe with the shortening. She decorated it with roses, flowers and a star border. She did a great job. Tried to post a pic but it wouldn't allow it. She is begging to make another one. We will have to try new recipe. I am not sure I want her making all these cakes. There is one nasty side effect.......eating all that darn cake!

I would like to know if the buttercream frosting without crisco(shortening) is firm enough to make pipe decorations with? Example: flowers,(roses) and borders. And will it with stand doing a two tier cake? All the ones I use have shortening and I would really like one without. But need it to be firm.

Changing our PCB trip to Ocean Isles NC. Can't wait. Looks beautiful. This is just so sad for PCB. We were trying to stay at St. Augustine, really wanted to go there, but price was better at NC.

We go there and absolutely love them. They are so caring and take the time with your pet. I think I heard Dr. Molinari (sp) say that they schedule appts about 45 min apart so they can give your pet the time they need. I have referred several people there and not one has had any complaints. I sent my one friend there when her cat was dying. She had used another vet but they were in Marietta and she didn't want to drive that far. Dr. M and Dr. Godfrey let her stay with the cat, Dr. M held my friend while the cat took its last breath and did everything to make the cat as comfortable as pos

HER child pushing HIS child into the water is what brought on the wrath of the father. So yes, it is the point. I would have been highly pissed if some kid pushed my kid off the dock into the water. Did he over react? Yes Did she? Yes And since it's been okay in the past for her kid to push others off the dock, probably nothing would have been done to the child. Now as it stands, the mother has to look at the behavior of her own child and make a decision if what he is doing is right or wrong and go from there. And you can be sure the father would have had a severe

So I have to ask....is your son confused now? Because you had said in your original post "he does this all the time with my other children". So you punished him this time because he got in trouble and punished by someone else!? So my guess, he is thinking it is ok to do this unless another adult says something or goes ballastic.
