    Tax Prep

My husband and I need to get our taxes done. Do you have a preferred tax prep place? Or do you think it's best to prepare them on your own?
  6. Again, I appreciate all this feedback!!! Thank you.
  7. Thanks! Someone else was telling me about sunshine house today. I'll have to give them a call. And thanks for the state website... Very curious to check that out!!!
  8. I rarely post on here, but I'm hoping to get some positive feedback. My husband and I are expecting our first baby in Sept. And now, for the first time, I'm overwhelmed with the thought of putting baby boo in daycare. We live in Yorkville... I commute to downtown ATL, he commutes to chamblee-dunwoody area. Does anyone have any thoughts about the day cares located along 278? Did you prefer a big daycare? Or were you able to find an at home daycare? Any advice is appreciated!!! TIA
  9. I got pregnant. So I gave up on weightloss... I'll try again in 7 months! Lol
  10. Dawg- I had 730-430 hrs... But somehow, leaving work at 430 NEVER happened!!! And when it would 'snow' it took me 4.5 hrs to get home!
  11. I drove from Yorkville to alpharetta for a year... 56 miles one way. I rarely complained. I saw it as my time to decompress on the way home, etc. It sucked! Most days it took 2.5 hours to get home. Most days took 1.5 to get to work. 4 hrs daily in my car. But I really enjoyed my job! Then, I got laid off... From the job I loved. And my first thought... Yay, no more long commute. Currently, I drive 47 miles to work. Takes an hour each way. It's doable. And my job is just a job. I'm a risk taker!!! Try it... You might like it! And if I lived closer to the city, I would do it in a heartbeat. Mayb
  12. Mrs g...the part of 185 I was on is/was the 4 lane divided hwy part. Trooper was in the middle. I consider that a 4 lane road; not two lane. 2 lane is hwy 101 ... In my opinion. Not trying to get out of the tix...just trying to educate myself. I guess I'll go to court... Not sure why... But that is what 'everyone' says to do. I appreciate all the comments! They are very helpful!
  13. Speaking from experience (yes, I seem to have a lot lately) that fine is in line with other states!
  14. Thanks. I Thought super speeder is 75 on 2 lane road or highway. That's why I'm confused. Bc ticket says 2 lane roadway... And I hardly consider I-185 a 2 lane roadway. I'm just sick! Lesson learned for sure!!!
  15. I got a tix last week in muscogee cty. Ticket states 2 lane road. I was on 185. Trying to figure out if this will be classified as super speeder. I was ticketed for 82 in 65. And should I go to court? So confused. I'm kicking my own azz... And yes, I know, slow down!!!
  16. I sent you one in a message...it's way too much to post here...but it's great!
  17. I totally understand! When I talk to her... She's always saying 'oh, I ran to Pcola for this or that'. I live in Yorkville... So me running to Hiram seems like a big deal most days!!!!
  18. My sister lives off Avalon Blvd... Works in Pcola. Nice little area.
  19. I grew up in brewton, al. Although my childhood there sucked, I'll be happy to provide you with any information, names of realtors, etc. Also, my sister lives in Milton,fl. I will be happy to get any information for you from there also. Just shoot me a message. I love the fl panhandle!!!
  20. Denise is right on. And trust me, times have been hard the past couple of years, but the company my hubby works for has been great to try and keep him working. I actually think his helper who is 2nd or 3rd year makes great money for a 'kid'. I made $9.18/hr out of college with 2 degrees... Helpers make a lot more than that. I would say... Sign up for the apprenticeship program, find a job as a helper, then when you turn out you should do okay.
  21. To go through the apprentice program, you would need to contact the union (local 613). My understanding ... And my hubby went through the program years ago... But now, they only go to school one day a week every other week. So, my hubby's helper goes to school every other tues or whatever and works the rest of the time. But the day he goes to school changes based on his class that semester.
  22. Chobani is sooo awesome!!! The dannon Greek used to be my fave... But I believe it has more sugar than others (that's why it's so good!!). I also really like the Fage brand... Get the plain and stir in my own fruit!
  23. Most banks will start charging the fees for debit card usage. That is due to dodd frank legislation. I work for one of the banks mentioned above. Although free checking is becoming a thing of the past, there are still ways to avoid many of the service charges. My advice... Shop around and educate yourself on the many "packages" that are available. Banks are also starting to do away with free checking for employees too... So I understand your frustrations. Having worked at both big banks and small hometown banks... There are pros/cons with both.
  24. Eerkkk... I'm in Jones Mill... And I agree a lot of it is shady. But it looks like we are stuck there... Whaaaa!
