  1. Start off in recreationsl cheerleading and get her started in gymnastics. She's way too young to really know if she enjoys it. My daugher wanted to do competition, but we just couldn't afford it. It is unbelievably expensive!!! Even middle and high school cheerleading is expensive. She cheered for 3 years and then had to make a difficult decision as to whether she wanted to continue to cheer or have a car. Too expensive to do both!! She chose the car so that she could work and be more independent.

Cheering is a lot of fun if you don't get obsessed with it. Wait a while and let your daughter get some experience and a little older before you decide on competition. Good luck!!

  2. is no one else disconcerted by the thought of a utility truck hauling heavy equipment, swerving all over the road, into the oncoming lane, just to block some idiot driver?

My thoughts exactly. The utility truck was probably the one holding everyone else up!!! I usually drive fairly fast and, if someone wants to pass me, I just let them go by. No need to try and cause an accident, and that sounds like this could have happened if the utility truck was swerving all over the road.

  3. That poor baby!! The picture looks like it would be painful. I'm glad you got an appointment and got her seen today. I even more glad that you won't be taking her back to that pediatrician. He obviously doesn't know what he's doing.

  4. So if you see a person on the registry for statutory rape that means they were over 21 and had sex with someone who was in the 11-15yo range.

Not necessarily unless this has changed in the last five or six years. There is a young man on the registry who was caught having sex with his girlfriend. She was 15 and he was 17. He was in PC jail for quite a while. Now he is on the sex offender registry, and he does not deserve to be there. They got caught, the girl panicked and cried "rape". They'd been having sex for at least a year or two before they were caught.

I know all this because my oldest daughter was friends with both of them, and I knew both of the kids. Both were good kids, just doing something they shouldn't have been doing.

  5. 18 is fine. Both of my daughters moved out when they were 18. It was a surprise that my youngest decided to move out, but she moved in with her sister. It worked out fine. They have learned responsibility and, even though it's been hard at times, they learned how to take care of themselves. Now they are 23 and 26 with 3 kids between them. They are both good girls and great moms!

You son is especially lucky because he won't have as many bills as a lot of kids would when they first move out. I don't think you have anything to worry about.

  6. Wow! 30 minutes alone and tethered is too long in my opinion. Maybe I'm just overprotective, but anything can happen.

I agree!! I can't imagine tethering a dog. That's why we invested in an invisible fence. Luke goes in and out as he wants/needs to, and we don't have to worry about him. I was driving down Ridge Road last weekend when it was pouring rain. I won't post the name of the road where the house is, because I don't want to get in trouble. But. . .the house is on the corner, corner lot, on right going towards Highway 92 between Bethel Church and Laird (much closer to Laird). They have a beautiful white dog, and he was tethered, sitting there looking pitiful, in the pouring rain. I've seen him out there once before, but it was earlier this week and a nice day. It broke my heart!!

I wondered if I should call someone, but wasn't sure who to call when I saw him in the rain.

  7. Grandchildren are so wonderful! I have two grandsons. The oldest will be 4 in July and the youngest will be 2 in May. I also have a beautiful granddaugher, who just turned 6 months old. I absolutely adore them!!! And it's amazing that I have so much patience with them when I had almost none with my own kids.

  8. I don't know this family, but my heart breaks for them. For several years, I worried that my oldest daughter would take her own life. She did try several times. Through the Grace of God, she is now sable with a family, is back in school, and doing great. I will keep the Pinson family in my prayers. May God lift them up and help them through this terrible tragedy.

  9. I tried this and it didn't work. Also, it is a scan and not free!! You get what they call a free trial, but they they charge you for shippng/handling and then if you don't cancel it immediately, it's almost $100 per month for each bottle.

I cancelled mine but a friend didn't and got scammed bad!!!

  10. My daughter lived there several years back. They were pretty expensive and definitely not worth that much rent. She didn't have any problems with neighbors or anything. She didn't like the fact that she had to pay her water bill with the rent. And when she moved out, they claimed she owed a huge water bill. She had to get cancelled checks to prove she had been paying it through the apartments.

    She wouldn't move back.

  11. I remember Belmont Hills and Cobb Center, too!!! I loved Kessler's. That's where I go all my Levi's. Most of my other clothes came from Lerner's!! I used to walk to Belmont Hills!! That was back when it was safe for kids to walk. I remember standing in line all night to get Van Halen tickets at Turtle's. Made a lot of memories at both places!!

  12. My grandson was in a pageant when he was 14 months old. He won 2nd place. He was in another one at 16 months and won 2nd place and most photogenic. Now that my other daughter has a girl, she wants to do a pageant. Paris is 6 months old with naturally curly hair!! We think she's beautiful!! I looked on line and there's an Easter Extravagnza in April, and we're probably going to enter her!! It will probably be her first and only one if she doesn't win. The registration fee is $65.00!!!

We just want to do it for fun one time and get pictures of her in ruffly pageant dress!!

  13. Well, to be honest, any diet works if you stick with it. I

I don't agree with you on that. I've been on a low fat diet since January 1. I only eat healthy. I haven't had any good food since 12/31!!! I've tried Advocare, and still have only lost 4 pounds. If I had insurance, I'd go to the doctor to see if they could figure out why I am not losing weight.

I looked into NutriSystem many years ago, and it was ridiculously expensive!!! I wish I could afford it because I'd sure give it a try.

I am getting really depressed because I can't lose weight!!

  14. Adam was awesome!!! If he keeps on like he did last night, he'll win!! Danny is good, but not as good as Adam.

I like Lil and Megan. The girl with the bright pink/red hair is good, too.
