I think the point is that all 16 yr olds are not always like their parents- they can get into stuff- so just be aware of it. They may or may not ever do anything, but just be aware it could happen. I agree!! We had I think two parents that allowed everything!!! Guess what- that is where everyone went. I am sure many of those people wish they could take some of those nights back. But if the parents would not have allowed it- they would not have done it nearly as much. At 16- I got some stuff pass my dad, but for the most part he would call the parents to make sure I was there. Lol Most everyone did not start drinking more until they were closer to 18.

Yes I had a fake myspace also (long story) lol But we did it to another teen and I was like Eeeww. Anyways- Yes I heard that on the bert show! That is ridiculous!!!! I agree! I just know never to trust a teen, but you can let them think you do. lol And yes Not all kids do bad things - but you still have to be aware that it is possible.

Well, At least you can say you remember Ha, I did not forget. I know what goes on. I am not blind like some. But I still would not tell my child it is okay. Yes not all teens drink or do bad things, but many are drinking and/or are having sex. And I swear I have never seen so many pregnant teens until I moved to Paulding. I do not see anything wrong with having them. I think it is a great memory. It is just something no one did at my school.. I never even knew about it really until I walked in the door at my own. lol And then never heard about them again until the tv show.

Did you all have a Sweet 16? We Never did this at my highschool. Actually I take that back- I had a really cheesy one. I had stopped by my moms and she decorated with these cheesy decorations. We all laughed really hard and did the pinata that was up. lol We did not stay long. It was just another embarrassing moment to add to my moms list of things she would do. lol But No one had them other than that.

I think for sure planning something outside and keeping them busy is the way to go. Park, Lake, Sports- Etc You do not want the pink decorated cake in the basement- 7 minutes in Heaven I am sure has came a long way. lol

I would never allow my child to drink. I am not saying they will never do it without my knowledge, but I do not think it is okay to allow. People drank when I was 16, but it was not all of the time. Even though people did our parents still did not allow it though. Just because I know they are probably going to do it I would not tell them that or let them think it is okay. But that is just me I do think some parents can make some Sweet 16's kind of cheesy to where I can see where she would say that. Sandra had no business winning. She did nothing. I love Russell- Yes he talks too much, but He is the best player this show has ever had. Parv or Russ should have won for sure. LR- You should have stopped by the one at my dads church. I got there too late bc apparently at yard sales you have to be there at 7 am. lol Anyways, This lady who goes to the church owned a furniture store and got rid of a ton of stuff so cheap.
