  1. Tanya at Blooms Salon cut my hair earlier last week and I LOVE it. I got Lots of compliments ....says a lot since my team is mostly men...and I am in love with my cut. I think I'm going to have her color/highlight it before school starts.

  2. It is off Cedarcrest Road. You turn onto Seven Hills Blvd (I think) at the CVS.

Thanks. So the county dump is almost in Cobb county on the north end of PC?

  3. I agree with others, it does really depend on the child's maturity and the length of time you are talking about.

I left my son at home for about an hour by himself when he was 9 years old. By age 12, I left him at home for most of a day by himself.

Now that he is 15, he keeps his 3 year old sister for a few hours by himself.

I cannot see me leaving my kids overnight by themselves until they are 18.

  4. If go to Seven Hills the neighborhood and turn in, its about 2 miles or so on your right. Yes, you go through the neighborhood to get there.

Thank you. Where is Seven Hills neighborhood?

  5. the Paulding county dump? How much does it cost to take a load or how do they figure the price?

I have been living in this county for nearly 17 years and I have never taken stuff there.

Now, we are cleaning out...hopefully getting ready to move within the next few months...and I am hoping to be making Several trips there this summer.

  6. Subby,

    Your thoughts are thought provoking.

For me, this economy has changed me from a wife that would get upset if my husband was not off work by noon on Sat. to a wife that is thankful for every minute my husband gets to work regardless of what time of the day it is and even more thankful if he gets a chance to work extra.

I am about to get a pay raise at my job only because my family has sacrificed and I have busted my rear over the last 2 years as I have attened grad school on line and continued to work full time, and kept to my other commitments.

This economy has actually helped my family. After Several years, we have changed our ways of living and are actually now saving and are in the process of trying to purchase a home (thanks to Shawna for working with us). We are completely changing the entire way we think and live. Eating out is now a treat instead of the usual thing to do.

We have became much more thankful in general.

  7. I put in an application online for the new JCP last Saturday, not really expecting anything. I was hired this afternoon. Granted, it's part-time, but I didn't want a full-time position. Very nice people there.

What will you be doing??? Why didn't you say something about it tonight??? B)

Its a regular one and its got a sephora in it! :yahoo:

I know this is going to sound stupid, but I don't get out much unless it involves work or one of my kids...what is Sephora?

  8. My hubby and son killed a little copper head snake right behind our home yesterday. We've been here 5.5 years and this is one of the few snakes we have seen in our yard. Not bad considering there is a pond across the street and on the other side of the clubhouse.

  9. ONce school is out, take him to one of the parking lots of one of the schools. The only ones there for the most part are going to be the admin and they will be parked at the front of the building. Take your son to the teacher parking lot and bus area.

This is how we taught my oldest daughter to drive and it worked well.

    Best of luck.

  10. This pretty well describes the fair tax

    http://www.fairtax.org/site/PageServer

Neal Boortz also has a really good book about the Fair Tax Plan

I completely agree that it is Past time we get this into place. Illegals, drug dealers, everyone pays taxes. From what I understand, the only ones that get the rebates are those that are in the US legally or are citizens.

  11. My hubby and I were discussing something like this just this morning.

We find it interesting how, as bad as the economy is and the politicians are complaining about having to increase taxes due to lowering funds coming in, that there has been no word of any of the politicians taking a pay cut or saying that they will not take a pay raise until things improve.

Honestly the congress and senate should have been one of the first to not get pay raises/take pay cuts.

  12. We take our critters wif us.. We pay extra to make sure to find somewhere that takes animals. And always do pet friendly activities. We prolly wont get to go anywhere this summer cause of finances and situations here at home..

Good lawd you made me dizzy with all of that.

Sorry, that is just the way my life is...busy.

I'm hoping things will calm down some between finishing grad school and going back to work in Aug..

  13. I finish up teaching my regular classroom on the 9th, then head back into the classroom to teach ESY to middle and high schoolers on the 15..work that 16 days during the summer, going camping at Lake Guntersville State Park around the week of July 4, sending the kids to the ILs in Al the week before that, finishing my last 2 classes towards my Masters on June 28, and hanging out with my kids and hubby, helping out with HHS band camp the week of Aug. 3, and getting my classroom set back up before we go back on the 10. I'll be working on cleaning out this house and trying to purchase another over the summer...fingers crossed.

    So really...not much..LOL :D

  14. I've got to write one last paper for college for the week and then I'm going to enjoy me a stiff drink.

7 more days...one of those is teaching sex ed, one giving final exams, and the another will be spent disecting frogs :D .
