  1. OldGoat: this is a daunting problem and I more than understand your frustration with the schools and their lack of understanding of these kids. We do need to organize and share information regarding these kids and the approach that the schools is taking. As I understand it they are seeking to remove parapro aides and mass mainstream the kids. This to me is a strategy predicated on the idea that next year, the Georgia General Assembly will pass SB 10 which caps the funding for which the schools would be liable to that they expended when the parent pulls the child from school. 2. but we know there are a lot of folks who aren't on a team. We want to give them an opportunity to join and be a part of this amazing event. pubby
  3. Surepip: We'd love to have them. pubby PS: We're really out on a limb here ... but we have something to prove in a sense... and that is that we can 'pull something worthwhile' together in a matter of days. Will we succeed??? Click and join and we'll go from there. pubby
  4. You can use this link or just browse the page below. http://www.acsevents.org/paulding/pcommers Your browser does not support inline frames or is currently configured not to display inline frames.
  5. That is true; there is no pratical difference. We had club houses early ... you know like the he-man woman-haters club ... but of course the rivalries emerged. I know now that the (orange forum) has a few playboy pinups, the beefcake tends to be posted in the pink club and the more outlandish stuff from both gets moved to the honky tonk. To keep peace and to avoid having to reset all the passwords to the clubs; we simply make them open to all premium members, we supply new members (on request) the passwords to all the premium member restricted forums. However, because of the p
  6. Smitty: I have absolute permissions to mod the code anyway I wish ... however, it is not a question of permissions. I'm not a code junkie and would not even attempt the feat. Rather I'll just go with the flow there Shel ... and the flow says that right now the security issues posed by the availability of html in the sigs is just too great. pubby
  7. Actually, it would appear that most of the signatures were fine ... I thought there may have been more that were using html. pubby Rakled: PS: Know that when I went into this change, it was with the idea there were many more using html in their sigs than apparently are ... so I was expecting a greater reaction. pubby
  8. Countrychick: Lets see if this works: [flash=500,200]http://www.wishafriend.com/countdown/swf/graduation1.swf? then_year=2007&then_month=4&then_day=25&eventt=My+Daughter+Graduates+%21" [/flash] [flash=500,200]http://www.wishafriend.com/countdown/swf/graduation1.swf It will display the flash fine but it won't pick up the external variables which is one of the security vulnerabilities. Sorry. pubby
  9. Nope, not at all... yours is working fine. Only when it looks like mine above with all stuff will it be an issue. pubby For those who have flash movies in their signatures, this BBcoding format works. [flash=500,200]http://www.paulding.com/pix/pubbysig.swf[/flash] and for images (jpgs, gif, bmp) this image coding works: [img=http://www.paulding.com/pix/500by200.jpg] These show like this: [flash=500,200]http://www.paulding.com/pix/pubbysig.swf and for images (jpgs, gif, bmp) this image coding works: Lady Raider: Nope, only when you
  10. I just removed the permission to use HTML in signatures. It was highly recommended against but as I wanted to use it, I had to let everyone else have the ability to use it (It is not controllable by membership level ... I wish it were.) Anyway, you'll see a lot of broken signatures. The good news is there are a couple of ways arounds this for most. Basically there BBCodes which will allow the posting of images and even flash movies. It hurts me too but the security danger ... I've been going on too long with the knowledge there was AN ENORMOUS SECURITY HOLE IN THE
  11. Busymom: I'm going to assume there may have been a suicide or just an unattended death (aka: heart attack) although I didn't get specifics on that. Typically that kind of traffic, even on the scanner forum, is rarely a news item. pubby
  12. Update: THE PAULDING COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE REPORTS THERE WERE NO INJURED PARTIES IN THIS INCIDENT. THE INCIDENT DID INVOLVE SOME SHOOTING INCLUDING THE BACK WINDOW OF THE VEHICLE BUT AGAIN, NO PERSONS WERE INJURED IN THE MELEE. THE EVENT INVOLVING THE WHITE VEHICLE CONTINUES UNDER INVESTIGATION.
  13. With today's tragedy, I deem it advisable to restrict search for regular members. Rather than disable search, regular members will be able to use search function once every three minutes (180) second to avoid flood control. If the server beeps back at you a flood control warning, then you should know to wait a few before seeking, for instance, recent topics. At present I'm hoping to no one will run a full database search. Indeed, I suspect that five or six folks of the 425+ on at 4:00 today, tried a full search and it killed the machine. Please refrain from using sear

  15. Search continues to cause periodic stalls; restriction to premium members until Monday Paulding.com will restrict the recent topics search to premium members beginning at 8 p.m. tonight through Sunday night. Pcom will be upgrading two of its servers from 2 gb to 4 gb of memory Friday or Saturday to ease the sluggishness the site experiences when members use the full site search. We are doing this to provide the least disruption as we install new memory and then seek to do some things to optimize the site. These activities include building some rather large indexes that even w
  16. PCOM RECENT TOPICS BUTTON MAY NOT WORK Because of the extreme stress put on the pcom server by searches of all kinds but particularly the database search, I am disabling search for all regular members effective immediately. This is necessary to avoid the site crashing later this evening as we expect a crowd for election results. Members are encouaged to go through the various forums directly and posts will be ordered by most recent posts for each of the forums. This restriction will be lifted later this evening around midnight. Premium members will not be affected by this Thi

  19. You just have to complain, don't you. Yes, the glass is half full and the blaaaaaaaag is close enough to blaaaaa to be bloooooooring. Let me suggest a change in attitude. Take advantage of the tool, explore the tool, make it do things that are different. For instance, why not go and fetch that video you did on youtube of the fireworks. If you put it at the top, then it would be here for all to see and would not be knocked off the recent topics page. Yes, think of these not as blaaaaags but as the true epitome of vanity. The place where you comments are the top.
  20. UPGRADE GOING DOWN Paulding.com will be undergoing another upgrade; this time from version 2.2.1 to version 2.2.2. Because it is an incremental upgrade, we are not anticipating issues like last week (time down, slowness, etc.) although we may be off line for a short period of time. Please bear with us while we improve the site to serve you better. pubby
  21. I think you may have a different security setting on firefox that precludes the setting of cookies. that is a guess though. pubby
  22. Better watch out, someone will think that bump on a log is a snake if you start comparing yourself to a lawyer. pubby
  23. Okay, I think I found it and it should be fixed now. What was up? Well there were some clean up tools that I missed that needed to be run. They are now run and this issue should be resolved. Let me know if other issues crop up. Bottomline, things like this take a little time to do. It is not like we go through this type of upgrade every day pubby
