no firefighter here - I listened to Cobb on the scanner for a while. I'm just guessing at what stations backup other stations. So, I would have expected that truck 8, engine 8, and engine 26 all be primary responders with 24 and maybe 11/28 or 16 all responding too (to a fire with smoke seen) call. Station 22 is way south in Austell and would have driven past 4 other stations if they did respond.

I can answer for my wife - I am very fortunate to have a good career that pays well. We live off of one income and drive two vehicles that have a combined 400,000 miles on them. We make these choices in order to raise our own kids. My wife works part time for our church for a little "spending money" that is "hers".

is there not a bored housewife chapter in your area? find an organization that could use your skills you are doing the most important job that can be found - being there for and raising your own kids. As you realize, many would love to be in your shoes.

truck 8 is the large ladder truck station 26 may have been on another call I am sure on a large commercial fire like that Cobb would respond many, many units
-
are you sure it wasn't E-26? 24 is a good ways away and should have been a secondary responder after stations 8 and 26 and possibly 16.

I thought the recession was over and everyone was spending money?

in this case, the lady is lucky to have been close to Bartow station 9 - they were first on the scene no - it is due to placement or lack of units that clark has in service that unit probably responded from the huddle house on bus. 6. - at least 16 miles those are the facts and the facts say the EMS unit took 17 minutes to respond clark enroute with one to floyd - I guess the hospital in Cartersville - couldn't be in Rome?
