  1. Really? So what if I bought a house with a $100,000 down payment so my payments would be lower and then got transferred. Shouldn't I get market value for the home? According to you I should take less because I have more invested and thus my mortgage is lower. We transferred 3 + years ago and haven't raised the rent on my Paulding County home once but have had 2 tenants "disappear" and 1 that is at least 5-10 days past the late payment due date every month. Yes, background checks were done and I took in to consideration that some good people have bad luck but I am DONE with the " what's min
  2. I see a lot of folks considering buying a certain brand of speakers "made" in Framingham, MA believing the marketing hype. Many years ago I owned a couple of pair of these (model 901s) until I learned a few things about frequency response, sensitivity and other measurements that you will never see published by this particular manufacturer. I post this to inform those who might not have the experience that they would be paying many times the worth if this brand is their choice. There are many quality speakers on the market and many companies that have solid business practices and customer sup
  3. Yep, anyone voting should pass a literacy test.............. : Scalar (mathematics), a quantity that can multiply vectors in the context of vector space scholar : a person who has studied a subject for a long time and knows a lot about it : an intelligent and well-educated person who knows a particular subject very well
  4. 99.99% of the time leaks are not intermittent. There is always a small needle on the meter that registers very little flow (leak-o-meter)> If you shut off all water at house and the small meter is moving (yes, a leaking toilet registers) then you have a leak. If you shut off all water in th ehouse and th esmall needle is moving then water is flowing. Triple check faucets, toilets, ice makers, etc, etc and if indeed there is no usage in the house and the meter is moving then there is a leak BETWEEN the meter and house.
  5. First month in our new house Nov last year. 77,000 gallons = $875. We had to pay. No leaks. We shut off ALL water and watched the leak-o-meter...ZERO. We ran water from one outlet into gallon jug; it counted 1 gallon used. Every other month since then has been average. I saw the last bill before us and our first... meter reading matched. With electronic metering I was quoted day, time and gallons used. BS!!!!!! I ended up with a $150 "leak" discount.
  6. Good for them and now if we can make this nation wide. Really, no matter what YOU think, you are NOT that important, the world will not stop rotating if you don't talk or text while driving.
  7. I am 57 and had Chicken Pox when I was 7. This week I contracted shingles. It has decided that my right eye, my throat, right ear and scalp should be the place it wants to attack. Trust me, take a loan or sell coke bottles to get the money for the vaccine. I have heard occasional references to shingles but never knew what it was. NOW I DO! I am told this will go on for several weeks and then I might be a candidate for the vaccine. I have 2 young ones at home that have not had Chicken Pox so I am contagious to them (they would get Pox not Shingles; like stated earlier you must have had Pox
  8. I assume legalities don't matter to you either: http://www.computerhope.com/issues/ch001146.htm
  9. I do not teach in the primary school system. I do however facilitate courses in secondary education, not that that makes a difference in this discussion. I am also a father of a 7 and 10 year old going to a public schools. I do not think that the statements made by students as quoted in the AJC about being cheated by educators were made by elementary students without being coached about what to say. Kids just do not have this vocabulary. I stand by my belief that our public school system is more about money than education. Fraud is everywhere in scores, 'free' lunches, etc etc. O
  10. Hummm, I guess I go against the grain. I am sick of hearing 'students' proclaim that they were cheated by the APS. I say BS; if the students had put the effort into their studies they would have passed. For the poster that said something along the lines of 'this is why teachers should belong to a union' sorry, I am 180 degrees opposite of your conclusion. I FEEL that most municipality governments are corrupt but I can honestly say that after living all over the US and the world that Atlanta is a suck hole of inept, corrupt governmental waste that believes in their heart that the GOVERN
  11. God forbid that our friends, bosses, significant others, bill collectors, etc. etc can not contact us every single second of every single day. I just don't get the...the....what...attitude, supposition (I am at a lack of words) for what people feel when they can not be in instantaneous electronic contact with the world. Wear a friggin ankle bracelet and hire a monitoring system if your other half can't stand the 30 minutes between the call when leaving work and your arrival at home. There are services that put a tracking device on your car and report to a web based program if the p
  12. This is not excusing the other driver at all BUT Sounds like another case of "your illegal actions make me mad but I am excused because I might be getting a text / email / call that will save the world for all mankind so therefore any delay will cause the ruination of us all; the phone MUST be checked". To all: get off the phone and drive, you are not THAT important. But of course if you are on your fancy smart phone in traffic to maintain your crop on Farmville then you do have that right to disregard other priorities.
  13. jestn cause i threw nombars out dat way dawnt b claimng i can do 'rithmatic
  14. Accounting for all their careers in racing According to MY link Sr. has a total of 100 wins in all series: http://www.racing-re...er?id=earnhda01 but you may be correct that KB has MORE at 101; if my math is spot on http://www.racing-re...iver/Kyle_Busch
  15. Don't know about this since Dale Sr. never raced in the Touring Series. If we're talking about NASCAR Winston Cup/Sprint Cup series then it's Dale Sr 76 wins Kyle 12 wins
  16. Ok, I am a little confused here; help a brother out I'm just trying to comprehend. Was this a half brother, adopted or something other than natural born sibling to same parents? I'm not asking for personal details, just sitting here having an adult beverage and got lost. For the record I had the chop job and when my son was born I had not even really thought it though but when the doc asked I stuttered, stammered and nodded my head. Sure hated to watch and hear the cry. Would I do it again? Probably.
  17. It's the month of May of your child's senior year of high school and NOW you wonder why they won't graduate or walk? Where have you been for 18 years? I am not talking down to any student (or parent of a student) that has a legitimate learning disability. Frankly, I don't know how that is handled in our school system as we are blessed with children that do not fall into that 'category'. I do know this; my kids started going to structured education (that I paid for) when they were 2 years old and to this day (1st and 4th graders) they have been REQUIRED to complete all assigned homework and
  18. Ok I looked back and may have missed it so I will ask the question again albeit phrased differently: Of all of the students that were 'college bound' but for passing one (or more) section(s) of the mandated tests how many took the SAT or ACT? Of those that failed all or part of the mandated high school graduation tests how many made a score on the ACT or SAT that would allow them to be accepted into an institute of higher learning? My rationale for asking this question? In my mind (only it seems) if a student cannot achieve a passing grade on the state required 'get outta high school'
  19. I must disagree, this is the sort of thing that a student should have mastered of by the 3rd or 4th grade NOT a high school graduation test. Geeeze!
  20. Anyone keep a tally on how many of the above posts had their darling children going to college? I didn't count either but I sure got the impression that most everyone had the kiddos packing up to go off to the university of choice. Do you mean to tell me that the kids are seniors in high school, planning on college and can't pass a common test? I saw no mention of SATs or ACTs; the college bound students have taken those, RIGHT? What I find fascinating is how few are posting about preparing their 'about to graduate high school children' for the REAL world. Test scores be damned, some par
  21. Hydraulic—fluid from the electric pump is routed via lines and check valves to the actuator ram. Check the fluid level in the system and look for any leaks. Low fluid or loss of fluid is common, and indicates a leaking system. (Hydraulic fluid does not evaporate!) The reservoir must have fluid and all lines must be free from air. Generally these systems will self-bleed any entrapped air if they are operated over the complete range of motion a few times with the fill cap open. Check your engine owner's manual or repair manual for details. Hydraulic fluid is extraordinarily low viscosity and wil
  22. I'm glad that you had a positive experience however, I sat in the waiting area with my 4 year old that had 105+ fever for over three hours. I left (much to their dismay...you CAN"T leave. EH, yes i can) and went to Kennestone where he was treated within 30 minutes. Paulding sent me a bill for sitting in the waiting area. I gave the business office a visit and we agreed that I owed nothing. This was not my only experience with them and Not One of them was positive, if someone in my family can make it 20-30 minutes more we 'ain't stopping there'.
  23. My house is in a hole. That means no cell phone, very little AM/FM, etc. I installed a DB4 ( DB4 from Amazon) at roof top level, actually mounted a standard mount to the chimney with the antenna just above the top and placed a Channel master pre-amp at the antenna > Because I wanted a strong FM signal I bought a dedicated FM antenna and this amplifier which combined the two. I got exceptional reception from the bottom of Paces Lakes. Here is a good start: Choose Your Antenna The BEST High Definition comes over the air for free, just gotta watch local channels. BTW, there is NO s
