  1. Can you please tell me WHY a processor can't give you an actual cost of processing CC and Debit Cards? It is always a percentage and even that varies with the cards you process and then there are those nasty little add on's that never were mentioned when you signed up?

I would LOVE to have a processor that is straight up about what they charge per month.

  2. Still available if anyone is interested. I do have someone coming to remove all of the abandoned junk this weekend so you won't have to contend with that kind of stuff. You would want to clean the house, have the carpets cleaned, and if you want, paint.

  3. I agree. I can't tell you how many times I paid a deposit and still had to clean it before moving in and always left it clean when I moved out.

Well I know when I was a renter I would put up a deposit and no matter how well I left the place I always lost it. It is also hard for most folks right now to come up with a deposit, first months rent and then all the deposits it takes to have your utilities turned on. Not to mention Christmas is here!!

It's still available if anyone is interested.

  4. Does it have a basement? Is it in a subdivision? If so which one? Sorry for all the ?'s. Thank You!!! :)

No it does not have a basement. It is in a subdivision, I believe the name is Deer ? there is not a sign in the front of it. If you have any other questions or want to take a look at the house PM me with a phone number and I will be glad to give you a call.

  5. barelygettinby- Thank you. I did this the last time I had to rent it out and ended up with some really great tenants. They were with me for a little over 3 years! I hope I can find another family as good as they were.

  6. Sugar Bakers in Dallas does wedding cakes. I'm not sure on their prices, but they are reasonable for birthday cakes.

I haven't had their wedding cakes but I do go by and get pies and cakes they make. They are VERY good!!!

  8. The National Guard has a great program called Youth Challenge in which the 'at risk teen' can get their GED while going through a boot camp living environment. There are two locations in GA - Ft Stewart and Ft. Gordon. I don't think there is any cost. If the parents have insurance there are teen treatment centers - they can start by taking him to a counselor for referrals (if the counselor feels one is recommended). If it's not a depression time - it may be time for mom and dad say 'my roof, my rules - you go to school or boot camp'. Paulding GED's program is on Chatt. Tech's campus. Best of luck to the family and young man.

My son went to NGYC, he just really struggled in high school and was on the verge of dropping out. We looked into the program and decided it would be better than fighting with him to stay in school. I would HIGHLY recommend it! He was at Fort Stewart. They have a very strict schedule and are very structured. They don't take no ****.

My son too was 17, when he came home he came home with a high school diploma not a GED although that is an option. If the child is over the age of 18 they will also teach him a trade.

If you would like to talk to someone who has been you are welcome to PM me and I will tell you more about the program. You can also go to the armory in Douglasville and they will give you some of the info that you would need to enroll him. They were very helpful.

I will say though- they have to be drug free. They will drug test them when they arrive on base and will and can test them regularly. If ever they fail a drug test they are kicked out of the program no questions asked.

After the first couple of weeks being there my son had a blast. They do so much while they are there.

  9. It is illegal to sell bear parts and wild turkey parts, parts of birds covered under the federal migratory bird act and furbearer fur without a trapping or fur dealers license. It is ok to sell deer heads, but unless it is really a monster sized rack it is worth little to nothing. Restaurants buy them from wholesalers. I sometimes sell heads that people don't pick up on ebay, but again, unless it is huge I rarely recoup my costs no less any profit.

    I stand corrected!

  10. What ever you do DO NOT ever use ICE... Ice destroys the cells and makes it worse. I went to the hospital for some burns, they went into fits when I came in with a ice pack.. They told me to NEVER EVER put ice on a burn. They said, only a cool wet towel. They told me to put Nesporian and aloe and told me to take Tylenol for the pain.

Thats odd- when my son was severely burned at work (stuck his hand in a fryer) he went to the ER and they put his hand in ice water!

  11. What about Booger Holler in Cedartown? Are they riding out there?

    Booger Holler was shut down.

MillCreek- I have some excellent pics from Wesley's past rides if you are interested in them for the web site. I even have some from when they turned the pigs loose for the little kids back in the summer.

  12. Well guys to answer some of your questions-

We are not the Wallace's in Austell and don't wish to put out that perception. They are my cousins. My family has been in the BBQ business for more than 50 years. My Grandfather and his brother started the original Old Hickory BBQ in Atlanta. Part of our family stayed in the restaurant business (including Jeri's family) while my dad went into the wholesale business making Brunswick Stew and BBQ.

Several years ago we opened the Wallace's Hickory House in Cedartown. We are now in the process of opening the Yorkville location.

The BBQ and Brunswick Stew are the same recipes in Austell and my two locations.

We hope to open somewhere in the first week of November but much of that will depend on inspectors. As far as the building and all we are ready.

We will be open Tuesday's for lunch and Wed, Thur, Fri, and Sat for lunch and dinner.

For those interested in employment- I will have applications at the restaurant beginning this week. If you see that we are there you are welcome to come by and pick one up. I have already had several visitors stop by and chat.

I hope I have not offended Pubby by posting about the restaurant. Just simply trying to answer some of the questions and clarify who we are.

We hope to see some of you guys as we get open.

  13. Well, at my house the cereal always disappears and the empty box put back in the cabinet, the empty tea jug, milk, jug or kool-aid jug always end up in the fridge but when we ask all the kids they have no idea! Strange? :nea:
