I was assuming that they would only work weekends if the company NEEDED them to, with the higher pay making it worth their time to come in. I wouldn't think employees could choose when they work and for how long.

It depends on how it is defined in the company policy. If they worked 40 hrs M-F & worked Saturday, technically the Saturday hours are overtime, so they would get paid time & a half for the hours worked on Saturday. UNLESS The company policy states otherwise, for expamle: Same instance as above, but policy states that Saturday work will be considered overtime AND bonus pay (GREAT employer, BTW! ) THEN you would pay 3x his hourly wage....time and a half for the OT, and time and a half for his Saturday hourly wages. Make sense?

They do teach more than just the rules...for instance, we had to change a tire for a test grade..... ....right after I moved here, I was dating this guy and he got a flat....he started freaking out and I was like, "Just change it." He had NO idea how to even start changing a flat tire...they don't teach that here...

That's how I learned to drive. It's rediculous that parents have to pay so much for driver's ed here. Not everyone can afford that....my little brother just got his permit at 17. It's no wonder why there are so many people on the road who have no idea what they're doing! Oh----Blazing Saddles....I personally think EVERYTHING should be done in English....I shouldn't have to learn another language to accomodate illegals....or even legals for that matter.....but we can save that debate for another thread!

It should be offered as a course in HS.
