Parole board denies clemency for Troy Davis
dumbestgirlintheworld replied to dumbestgirlintheworld's topic in RECENT TOPICS
Dang, I sure don't envy your commute. And you're right, I did some more digging. They do get a TV and lawyer visits in Georgia deathrow. Couldn't find anything on the Richard Simmon's work out class, but I'll bow to your prison guard greatness. I'm sure it's a lot closer to the Ritz than I think... Yeah, this comment is made in nearly every thread that I'm in...still. You'd think after so many years that there would be some new material. Don't worry, it's soon changing! -
So, what does everyone think of the new layout?

Just tried, that's a negative. -

This is so wildly inaccurate. Death row inmates are allowed to leave their cell for one hour. They are not allowed to have any interaction with anyone, including the guards which do not speak to them. They do not see sun, unless it's through a window or in a chain link "run pen". Now, if they're guilty, I say that this is too easy, but when they're innocent (as in the WM3), you just make people insane. It's not good. But, then we kill them, so that's okay. All and all, it's sad and barbaric...and quite a contrast to much of the civilized world. -

I love it and hate it at the same time. They really just added more things to get you addicted and spend more time there. I think my new years resolution is going to be to shut down all social media and networking - if only I didn't need it for my job. -
I say what others won't. I guess when we were talking about octomom or the duggers or kate+8 it's okay, which interestingly in those 36 kids mentioned only one has a problem (so far). Shrug. Pcom.

Wow - this thread has gone all over, eh? We're not talking about Eugenics, we're talking about taking a certain amount of care when planning your family. BEFORE you have children (I understand sometimes things happen), it's best to sit down and discuss things like money, education, medical care, how long you want to nurse, do you want to AP, you know....PLAN a bit. This gives children a good head start. Sometimes they come out broken, in which case it becomes your JOB as a parent to do whatever you have to do to fix them. For instance, specialized education - however, Teatime may have a Ph

I'm actually more a fan of "personal responsibility".

Parole board denies clemency for Troy Davis

The WM3 was a tragic case that shows that the LAST thing that we need to trust in is our justice system. It's completely flawed in every way possible. Still, to KILL someone with this type of doubt looming for the simple fact that your ego is too big is a very sad thing. Troy will meet his maker tomorrow and he'll have to pay for what he did or didn't do - but so will those parole members. -
Yep, it's a discussion board. We're discussing. We're stating opinions for the sake of that discussion. I don't care if you're teatime or flipping NC-17, I have serious concerns that you've shunned modern medicine and turned up with a nearly 80% higher incidence of autism in your house. This gives me very serious concerns about the state of modern medicine in general, that we're so quick to label the "weird" as you've coined mentally impaired. I'm assuming that you've had some medical definition of your children's situation and not self diagnosed. So, how much is this same thing happening

Actually, there's no forensic evidence to support that. Another guy in the ghetto was killed with a .38, that's the only evidence that they have in that shooting, besides one thugs word. On the other hand NINE other people have implicated someone else in the murder of the police officer, that other person was never investigated. -

I don't always agree with you and do think you're a hippie...but you're right on with this one. Pride before justice...scary stuff right thar. -

Statistically speaking, it's likely that he would have spent his life in prison anyways. Poor, black kid out of Savannah doesn't have much hope, so I don't think that we're killing the next Einstein or anything...BUT, there's enough for a new trial. At minimum, there's enough to commute the sentence to life. I'm not completely against execution, but I do think that there needs to be A LOT more indisputable evidence than what was presented here. You should not be allowed to ask for death on a purely circumstantial case. That's what's supposed to separate us from the Iraq's of the world. -
http://www.ajc.com/news/parole-board-denies-clemency-1184524.html I'm happy that he'll finally be able to leave the hell that is death row. I don't think he did it and I don't think that we should be killing him, but I do think it's better than the roller coaster of human torture. I guess when you're a parole board that hasn't overturned a ruling in 33 years, your pride isn't going to allow you to start now - regardless of that whole 'justice" theory.

How to a digitize the coasters that I swiped from the bar where I met the band on that random Tuesday that led to an unforgettable night at the Claremont and a round of antibiotics? Can't be done.

I'm going to try my hand at a real scrap book, something more than some stickers and ticket stubs. Anyone want to give me a tutorial? The 411 on the hippest places to go for the trendiest supplies? What are the "cool groups" to join?

Lawd, I wish you would speak your credentials!

Jenilyn, I also have flat feet. I think my son would have a chance at the majors if he didn't inherit them. I hate shin splits.

I was not favorable on George Anthony, but after today's show I am MUCH fonder of him. I don't know that we'll ever know the truth of what happened, but George at least wants Casey to be held responsible in some way, since she was ultimately responsible every.minute. for her child. Her mom. Sigh.

heartbreaker...totally.

PS NC, I love you. That's all.

Let me know how that goes...with a 4 year old. Do me a huge favor and pull yourself out of line and let TSA know that you're going to be difficult so that the rest of us can get on with it. They have people are staff to deal with people that take this route. Thanks in advance.

Quite honestly, I could care less...so long as they don't end up on the government roll call - not to insinuate anything, that statement is to do with Pubby's correlation to black and hispanics. And if your fine with your kids being weird, so be it. I think that there is such a thing as being considerate to societal norms and retaining individuality. I've always been a bit of an idealist.

To each their own. If I had a child born with, say, cystic fibrosis...and then had another...with cystic fibrosis...I'd probably call it a day. Maybe I'm selfish that way, but as a mother myself I wouldn't want to bring a child into the world unless I could feel more than reasonably good about their ability to succeed and be healthy. And yes, to your point Pubby, I think that ANY COLOR person were going to bring a child into a disadvantaged situation, that is less than fair to the child. Let alone bringing multiple children into such circumstances. If you look at the state of the union, y

How about something like, "TSA is doing a job to help keep our air travel as safe as possible". ???

You know. I have to chime in one more thing, cause this hippie crap gets on my nerves. You have 5 kids with a form of autism, think you have autism yourself and still feel like you're the most qualified person to teach and train them in their educational endeavors? I think you might churn out one or two that get beyond a diploma for the very fact that there's a law of averages weaved in there, but do you just not care about giving your children the best possible chance for success? Because continuing to have children with a "mental lazy eye" by your own admittance and then choosing
