Will, I voted for ya, but honestly, I think the national democrats (Obama, Pelosi, Reid, etc) have hurt your chances of winning.

Any exit polling?

Todd Pownall is a proven leader in Paulding County and for that reason I support Todd Pownall for commissioner post 2 Please consider Todd's qualifications when you vote tomorrow.
Thanks WHITEY
Todd is more qualified than his opponent. Comparing apples to apples, Todd is the better choice.
I hate to see folks sling mud like Reagan Republican. His mud slinging shows desparation and a lack of character. When you compare qualifications and experience, Todd is the better choice.

Well if Beverly's not against it, she must be for it. Hmmm
-
Todd is a great guy and a great candidate and I hope Todd wins in District 2.
I don't know either of the candidates in the other runoff.
-
I voted about an hour ago for Todd Pownall.
And I did NOT vote for Drew Lane.
-
I believe Todd has ran on a platform or fiscal responsibility and lower taxes while Mrs. Cochran was part of the Jerry Shearin administration that nearly bankrupted this county.

I have to wonder why anyone that is / was worth a flip as an attorney would want a county job?????
Agree 100%... most attorneys who are worth a flip are in private practice where they usually earn a lot more money.
-
I've had experience with Drew Lane when he prosecuted Rodney Clark, the young man whose reckless driving resulted in a head on collision with my son's truck and killed Clark's 6 year old son.
My only comments are that the case was not prosecuted in as timely a fashion as I would have liked and that Clark got off with a sentence that was far too light.
I'd like to boot out all the incumbents and start over.

Mr. Avery will get my vote. I'm looking forward to the picnic.

Wasn't Stout the one who porked his mother-in-law? And the GOP folks on this board want him to be their representative? nice.
-
I am 100% for whomever runs agains DA Drew Lane.
nuff said!

We certainly have not been better off under the Perdue-Richardson rule. I would hope we can return to another 150 years without a Republican in the governor office.
I agree 100%. Vote Democrat and bring back some common sense to our State!

I know we have a Chamber of Commerce, but we really need to invest in our infrastructure before big business will come. The airport is a great start, but our traffic, especially Hyw 278 & Hwy 92 around the Hiram area is a serious problem. For a semi-truck coming from the Powder Springs rail yard to Dallas during rush hour, traffic is horrendous. We need a better way to get to Hwy 41, I-20, etc.
I love the discussion regarding industrial growth. A rail line is key. There are a couple of properties for sale with rail access (over near the Dallas wood yard comes to mind), but before a serious manufacturer will come here, we need $Big money invested up front. I'd love to see a metal recycling facility go in, the problem is there aren't enough manufacturing facilities around to buy their scrap from, so businesses are more apt to go to Marietta or to the Fulton Industrial area. What about a cold storage facility like seafood, meats and frozen foods? Why not try to lure one to Paulding giving tax breaks and other incentives? Intermodal warehousing?
It can be done, the local politicians need to get off their wazoo and make it happen.

There are a variety of issues facing our county. Traffic issues and taxes are both close to the top.
What can the candidates do regarding these?
-
I've looked at all three web sites and they all seem to be for lower taxes. My question to the candidates would be in regards to commercial/industrial development. Currently, the economy here in Paulding is heavily affected by retail sales and residential construction. The market downturn has affected tax revenues and now the BOC & BOE are both in a huge budget crunch. There is very little diversification as far as industrial, manufacturing, etc.
What will each candidate do to attract new types of businesses to diversify our tax base, and to bring good paying jobs to Paulding County?

I saw where Mr. Pownall Has a website at toddPownall.com
I saw where Mrs. Cochran has a facebook page and she encourgaes folks to look her up.
What is the deal with Mr. Gregory? Does he have a web site where folks can look at his resume and get a feel of what he's like.
I certainly want the best candidate to win, but voters need to be informed.
-
Based on the fact that Todd Pownall stood up for the voters and stood up to King Jerry, it sounds like Todd is a better candidate than Beverly Cochran.....
As for the other guy running Gregory something, does anyone have info on his campaign?
-
Facts of Beverly Cochran.
She had the opportunity to stand up for the tax payers and failed to do so.
This is by no means an assination of her character. Just the facts
very interesting.....

David & Martha.... our thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time.
We love you both!

Hummm .Maybe if these officers had been more polite , courteous and offered to play tiddlywinks with this guy, he may not have felt the need to shoot them. I guess these officers just had it coming, when will we ever learn.
Play tiddlywinks..... have you ever done that with a citizen?

I certainly didn't want to make that sound like cops would condone crossing any lines. Sorry if it came out sounding that way.
There are a lot of cops on this board who know how I feel. I don't trust the po-po.... ever!
So, before I get thrown into the penalty box by Pubby again, I'll sign off.

Those are a couple of good photos. There's no doubt that the military men are treated with a lot more dignity & respect today than they were back during the Vietnam war. I had two uncles serve in the Army during that era, but they don't really open up and talk about their experiences.
