A 22-year-old man from Cobb County was killed in a two-car crash Wednesday night in Paulding County, officials said.

Antonio Brown of Marietta was driving a Ford F-250 pickup truck south on Bobo Road when he struck a patch of ice while negotiating a curve, according to the Georgia State Patrol.

The pickup failed to maintain its lane and left the roadway, struck a fence, a tree and a culvert, the GSP said. Brown’s truck continued east and struck the rear of a Ford F-150 pickup truck that was parked and unattended in the driveway of a house in the 1600 block of Bobo Road, the GSP said.

Brown’s F-250 landed on its driver's side and he was pronounced dead at the scene by the Paulding County coroner.

Three passengers survived the crash, but one person was hurt.

“It is believed that alcohol played a role in this crash,” the GSP said.

  2. Hillary lied too. Why isn't she in jail yet?

... it was those Russians who rigged the primary against Bernie, or called 30 million voters deplorable and irredeemable, or failed to visit Wisconsin, or failed to turn over thousands of emails, or had a hidden server, or called black people "super predators who need to be brought to heel", or smeared the women who accused her husband of sexual assault...

    Hillary should be in Jail....

  3. Way too stiff of a sentence based on what the news reported. . But you only know what the newspapers want you to know. I suspect there is much more to the story as to why the judge threw the book at them. Perhaps we'll never know. I don't know anyone involved.

Bottom line...if you hang around dogs, you'll catch fleas. If you mix booze with guns, what could possibly go wrong? This Kayla gal just found out the hard way.

An officer-involved shooting prompted a lockdown Friday afternoon at Dallas Love Field Airport.

A police officer shot a man who had been involved in a domestic dispute with a woman outside the airport. The officer acted in self-defense after the man threatened him with a large rock, a Dallas police spokesman said.

    No officers weer injured.

Video posted on Instagram shows officers responding before 12:30 p.m. with their guns drawn. Several shots could be heard as authorities yelled for someone to stay down. At least nine shots were heard in the video as travelers scurried away or stood by in confusion.

A police spokesman said he believed the wounded suspect was conscious when he was taken to Parkland Memorial Hospital. His name has not been released.

The woman he was fighting with was not hurt. Her name has not been released. Police said the man was the father of the woman’s children.

The man who was wounded had been throwing large landscaping stones at a car as he fought with the woman, police said. When an officer tried to stop the altercation, the man came at him, brandishing one of the rocks.

Police said the officer tried to move away from the suspect, but the man continued to move toward him with the rock.

  5. I'd much rather watch a well coached high school football team than go see the Falcons...bottom line is the key to success for most young boys is hard work over many years. Whether it's on the football field or in business or in relationships. Success takes time and often you get knocked down and you may even "fail" in the eyes of others... but If you've never failed...you've never lived.

  6. Nobody was directly lied to, they simply were not told about a deal in the works.

None of those commissioners will personally benefit from what they did which was to guard a secret for a year from Delta and Mayor Reed.

I don't see selfish decisions being made that only benefit a minority.

Every decision is about jobs for our people.

Laura, Each one of the above-mentioned statements are laughable.

1st. In the video of the heated exchange between David Austin and Todd Pownall, Mr. Austin said Todd was notified of the deal. Ding Ding Ding. Lie #1

2nd. Are you serious when you say the 4 commissioners won't personally benefit? Ever heard of campaign contributions? I suspect each of the 4 airport support will benefit immensely. Lie #2

3rd. Selfish? The airport only benefits very few well connected individuals. Former Speaker Richardson worked out a deal at the state level to ram this airport up our nose even though Paulding County voters turned it down. The chairman must think it's selfish for homeowners near the airport wanting peace and tranquility. If a 737 was flying over your house, you'd sing a different tune. Bottom line is not only was the public kept in the dark about a secret deal, the district commissioner was intentionally kept in the dark. This is Business as usual in good ol' boy (Austin) County. ... I'm surprised they haven't tried to change our name from Paulding County to Austin County seeing how the Austin family treats the public like they are royalty and the rest of us are peons.

  7. There will be no lawsuits from either.

    Accoring to the AJC:

The project drew immediate criticism from Delta Air Lines CEO Richard Anderson, according to The Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

"With the city of Atlanta and Mayor (Kasim) Reed, we will work together to oppose any investment in that facility," Anderson told the newspaper.

Delta has opposed the idea of a second commercial airport in metro Atlanta.

"Hartsfield-Jackson is the best, most important airport in the Southeast, if not in the United States," Anderson said. "And resources should not be dissipated for a facility that will take an enormous amount of cash and ultimately be an economic and community failure."

  8. All anyone needs to do to understand why there was such secrecy involved with this decision is look at the IMMEDIATE REACTION from Delta and the City of Atlanta. Had those two groups been aware of the project it would have been immediately derailed by them. With a year of work going into this they have little to no chance of thwarting it. That is why it was kept quiet.

I hope and Pray the lawyers for Delta and the City of Atlanta file lawsuits to delay this for years and years and literally break the bank. Money talks adn Atlanta and Delta have lots of lawyers and lots of money.... I don't want 737's landing in Paulding County!

Who'd have thought I am now a fan of Kasim Reed over Dirty David Austin?

  9. Paulding County is still operated by the good ol' boy network. I have no regard for the current Commission Chairman David Austin, nor the mayor of Dallas, Boyd Austin. These two need to get booted out of office.

I am strongly opposed to jet traffic flying into Paulding County. When I moved out here nearly 25 years ago, I wanted peace and tranquility. It looks like my tranquility is Gone With The Wind!

Further, for Chairman Austin to keep the district commissioner Todd out of the loop on this airport is just dirty politics, especially since the airport is in Todd's district. Dirty David Austin and his cronies pulled a fast one (again).
