  1. Okay, lets say a person has a job. This person only does his job correctly ONE DAY OUT OF FOUR YEARS. This person would be call a slacker and fired from this job. But a racecar driver can win only one race in four years and he is a hero. He was hired to win races, period. No matter who is father was. No matter that his father died a tragic death. It all boils down to the fact that is JOB is to win races. He did his job right one day out of four years. Sorry if it don't bow down and kiss his feet.

Dale Jr has made over $300 Million in his career....most of it was made off hats, t-shirts, bumper stickers, etc. Not too bad in my view. Sure he hasn't won as many as Jimmie Johnson or even Jeff Gordon, but the bottom line is EARNHARDT brings in the money and NASCAR is a much better sport because of Dale Jr.

I wish had $300 Million. just sayin'

  2. In another forum I vented about the current school disciplinary policies regarding fighting. If a kid starts punching you, are you supposed to just stand there and take a whoopin and then tattle to the teacher?

According to "Policy" if you fight in school (even if you didn't start it), you get hauled off to JAIL... I have a huge problem with that.

Can you PLEDGE to try to change this absurd policy? A kid should have the right to defend himself and not face punishment for doing so.

Police in Cobb County have written 27 percent fewer traffic tickets this year, reflecting added budget pressures that have meant furlough days for cops and elimination of their overtime hours.

Mestre said officer morale is very low because of the budget cuts.

"It is negatively affecting every single unit," Mestre said.

County employees must take five furlough days between April 1 and Sept. 30, when the county's fiscal year ends. But budget woes won't end there. Declining tax revenue means Cobb County is heading into the new fiscal year with a projected $15 million deficit, which is likely to prompt more furloughs and other cost-cutting measures.

Mestre hopes commissioners will raise the millage rate. He doesn't believe services can be maintained at the current level given the cuts to police, fire and EMS workers.

"Somebody will not get the services they need in a timely fashion," Mestre said. "It's going to cause somebody to either be hurt or killed. I can't tell you when it's going to happen, I can't tell you where it's going to happen, but it's going to happen if they continue these cuts."

  4. He's a 16 year old high school kid and He's applied at Ingles, Publix, Kroger, several fast food places and so forth.

Basically, because he's still in school, so he's looking for working only two days a week. He'll be available after school either on Monday or Tuesday and then he'll be available on Saturday.

Is anyone out there hiring for a high school kid?

I know the economy is tough right now and many adults are now in positions typically held by teens.

I see middle aged men and women going to work doing anything under the sun to make ends meet.

Please send a PM if you have something available.

    Thanks

  5. I'm surprised "that" kind of store would come to Hiram. I suspect the elected officials aren't too happy about it, but I'm not sure what they could do to stop it. It's disgusting to me and won't be going there.

Next thing you know, we'll have a Boomers style nightclub. Sick.
