And they wonder why their city is going down the tubes.

Wow, you really know NOTHING about Detroit. That kind of thing is pretty much all that goes on in Detroit proper. Remember how everyone was helping everyone and being so kind and helpful during our ice storm? If that happened in Detroit, the residents would take advantage of the opportunity to loot, pillage, rape, and rob. -

Rash of thefts in two New Hope neighborhoods last night

Lucky64, you're in Brentwood, right? Were there any more break-ins there last night? Hoping there won't be any more of these... ugh. -

I hadn't heard of nextdoor.com and it looks great... we do have a private facebook group for our neighborhood, and it seems that has served the same function for us (we're keeping in close communication about this there, and our local Sheriff is also now a member). -
Rash of thefts in two New Hope neighborhoods last night
JuliaG replied to JuliaG's topic in Paulding County NEWS
Welp, it happened again last night, this time in the Chestnut Hills part of Chestnut Grove. From a neighbor today: "My neighbor's car was hit twice in the last couple of weeks. Black car waiting in cudlesac as someone walks on foot. Last night's events were about 11PM. They seem to be looking for cash or quick items to take. Please lock your vehicles and report any unusual vehicles parked anywhere. Take a picture of anything unusual so we can post to team up together against these crimes" -

Good grief!! I hope the people who had property stolen have gotten in touch with the pawn shops around here. These scumbags will be trying to get money for their loot, I'm sure. -

Exactly. And one of the items stolen was a gun. I highly doubt that gun was visible at all from the outside. My neighbor said the glove compartment, console, etc. had all been riffled through and were left open by the thieves. Also, these vehicles were LOCKED. So someone saw a LOCKED vehicle and took it upon themselves to break in and go through the entire vehicle to see what they could find to steal. It's not like they had an iPad, laptop, and diamond earrings out on display with a sign, "Free to Good Home." Frankly, I'd be ticked if my car were broken into even if they didn't take a thing. -

Oops, I think I put this in the wrong forum. Can an admin move it to the right forum, please? Thanks in advance. -
My next-door neighbor had their truck broken into last night and cash stolen. It turns out, quite a few people had cars broken into last night in two neighborhoods off of Old Cartersville Rd.: Chestnut Grove, and the one across from Candlewood (not sure of the name of that subdivision). Then I just saw this post on facebook: "So, evidently Old Cartersville Rd. got hit with a lot of car break ins last night. It sucks to work hard for nice things to just have someone come and steal them. Diamond earrings gone, wedding band gone, gun gone, laptop gone and Ipad gone." Anyone here

For sure. They're almost as dumb as anyone who thinks the Republican or Democrat parties actually have their best interests in mind.

You're right on everything except the last one. Yes, women have more social charm, but we tend to use it to be "nice" and to make sure we're liked. The average woman would rather make sure she is liked by the person she's transacting business with rather than negotiate a good deal for herself. (Of course, there are exceptions; I'm one of them. But then, I don't care if I'm liked by a perfect stranger that I'll never see again.)

WellStar Paulding Hospital Tour - March 6th
JuliaG replied to accesspaulding's topic in RECENT TOPICS
Completely agree. There is most DEFINITELY a need. And that's 30 minutes to Kennestone IF the traffic is normal. BTW, which doctor did you see who was a quack? I wonder if it's the same quack I saw. You can PM me the name if you'd rather not humiliate him/her publicly. -
Sounds like the kind of thing I did daily to my little brother.

I'm so sorry for your daughter's, and your, loss. I've been through it a few times and it's heartbreaking. Praying for peace and comfort for her and for the rest of your family as you all grieve the loss of this sweet baby. In the meantime, don't return those packages... take them straight to an unused room or closet for safekeeping... I suspect you will be pulling them out again with a joyous new reason before the year is out. Of course, that's nothing you should mention to your daughter... she is grieving and aching for THIS baby and you're doing the right things to comfort her. Big hugs....

WellStar Paulding Hospital Tour - March 6th

Thanks for sharing the pictures from your tour; it looks great! Will have to check online to see what services they will have... no chance they will do labor & delivery, will they? -
Comcast Business Class. We had problems with regular Comcast AND with AT&T, but Comcast Business Class is great. We also use Vonage for phone service and it works great as well.

Thanks, everyone; good to know! Starr & Dru's Nana, a refund is getting back your money that you've loaned the gummit interest-free, so that you can pay creditors WITH interest. At least, if you're like most Americans (which, hopefully, you aren't ).
-
It will probably be something along the lines of an Egg McMuffin, but with sauce, I would imagine.

Poor baby and poor Mama... praying all goes perfectly!

In past years, we've gotten our Ga. refund quite a bit sooner than federal. Curious whether that will be the case this year too. Anyone who's received a GA refund, about how long did it take?

Hiram is going downhill fast. I never go there anymore if I can help it. Last Christmas, there was a store robbery (can't remember if it was at gunpoint or not), and someone stole a UPS truck (full of packages, many of which were probably from Santa). This is what happens when a criminally-inclined demographic takes over.

Thanks... guess we'll give up for today (although the last few months, it hasn't come to our house until 5 or later!). I guess this no longer applies: "And neither snow, nor rain, nor heat, nor gloom of night, nor the winds of change, nor a nation challenged, will stay us from the swift completion of our appointed rounds. Ever."

Did y'all get mail delivery today? Ours hasn't come yet and we were curious whether to trek out there and keep checking.
