  1. How does this account stuff work?

Is it like putting money on the books for people in jail?

    basically

The money is put in an account. when the child purchases his/her lunch, they enter a number on a keypad and the money is deducted. I believe the cashier tells them how much money is the account or when they get low.

When they run out, they get a charge or go in the negative. I guess now, there will be no credit or charge but a cheese sandwich, yummy.

An email report would be great or allow parents to log in and check the balance.

  2. Who's folks never spent the time to see that the 'person'...when they were a kid, got appropriate training on how to drive. Paulding county tops the list of dumbo drivers. Try this trick, go to your place of employment and ask anyone one of the drivers license test questions.....see what response you get. Amazing. Hey, I love this one in PC, when coming to an intersection and folks don't know whether to turn in front of the oncoming vehicle or to wait......PC usually just turn in front.....lovely. Especially if they're coming off of Seaboard ave and turning onto 278.. Get a clue Seaboard Ave folks.

Ugghh that drives me crazy. Coming from FLorida, we have bad drivers but its common knolwledge that the car turning waits.

  3. I gotta tell ya I have been protesting in my own way. I have set my gas budget at 25 bucks a week. That gets me to work, church and the store every week. I refuse to take any long distance trip or go anywhere until gas prices are better. I read an article somewhere that describe buying in smaller amount for long periods of time ends up having a bigger impact.

I dont see how buying in small amounts does any damage. If your driving habits remain the same but you fill up once a week versus every day, that makes no difference. It may affect the station itself, but i cant see it having any effect on the big guys as they are still delivering the same amount of gas every week.

  4. I had the same thoughts. We are still driving and using gas, so we just buy on a different day.

However, find out which company had the biggest profit last year and boycott them for say, oh a year. That would put a dent in their wallett. They would have no choice but to lower prices.

But I can barely get my kids to clean their room let alone organize a nationwide protest so I'll just take some lube with me when I fill up. Todays fill up was $90 :angry2:

  5. I kind of got elected to try to figure this out for another web site. Its for industry profesisonals in the office equipment industry

The goal is to try to the latest breaking news regarding office equipment, toners etc. We know some of the trade magazines get it but obviously they are not going to tell us how they do it. We know that we can go to some websites and sign up for there RSS feeds. The real dilema is how do we get the news from new companies that we havent gotten their RSS feeds. Is there a way to go to some site and sign up for press releases, RSS feeds involving certain key words.

ANy insight here would be great.

  6. AND people who leave their keys in the car??? Good grief - dumb as dirt.

Uh huh. I know we went to look at some homes west of here. This house was back in a neighborhood with all dirt road, etc and obviously didnt get alot of traffic. ANyway, we knock on the door, and see the minivan windows open. We take a quick look inside and theres a whole set of keys dangling from the ignition. crazy

Anybody EVER see some kids driving a black dually with Miami Hurricanes magnets, license plates (front and Back) and a canes sticker on the rear window, CALL THE POPO!!!!!!

  7. All our puters stay on at the office. our laptops stay on at home. all go to sleepy sleep when left alone.

I have done this for 10 years and never had a problem.

Foreign tech support? Dont even get me started.

  8. first, there is no "middle lane" and second, I seriously doubt that's legal anywhere

it's reckless and irresponsible, and all of the cars in question were going about 50mph at the time, not stopped.

ACtually its allowed in California. Its called lane splitting but is only acceptable in traffic that is stopped or very slow.

I understand the riders side. My wife sees bikes all the time weaving in and out and she askes me if i did that. Maybe not as bad as this guy and I never tailgated but I did weave in and out. Bikes take up 20% of the space a car does. And while it looks dangerously close in a car, it seems like a hundred feet on a bike.

The pwer on a sportbike is incredible and very hard to control if you are not patient. Most sportbikes will do 60 MPH in first gear with the flick of a wrist. I am not patient so i sold mine.

But I agree, bikes should be careful and stop giving the sportbikes a bad name. And always be safe

  9. AIO 924, I'd rather not have a refurbished cartridge though. ;) Thanks

We also sell OEM cartridges as well, of course we would prefer to sell compatibles. Our compatibles work just as well as the OEM cartridges do and we do offer a 1 year guarantee on them. Unfortunately for you, you can only get OEM Dell cartridges directly from Dell. I did call a couple of my vendors and that is what I have been told. If you would like to try a compatible let me know.

  10. I have 2 printers. One is a HP 932 ; the other is a LaserJet 1200 series.

Well, the 932 if I don't print for a while, the color stops working (it looks like one of the color inks is empty). I've replace both cartridges thinking that was the problem, but it wasn't. I have figured out that if I don't print off of it for a day or two, to just open the cover and "prentend" I'm replacing the color cartridge and it works fine.

So, the Laser printer, prints wonderfully EXCEPT, it has a "shadow" that follows it. If I print a page that says Paudling on it, there will be a light "paulding" all the way down it as if it has rolled through wet ink. I have pulled the printer apart, wiped it down (what I can get to) and don't know what more to do.

Anyone have suggestions? I hope it isn't time to have to buy 2 new printers? Help

You have gotten some misleading info

All inkjets use an ink tank and a printhead. Some machines have the ink and printhead combined, some dont. Even HP has machines that work both ways.

Your specific machine uses ink cartridges that contain the printhead. I doubt the cartridges are causing the problem But I dont know what is causing the problem. Inkjets are disposable. HP makes very few parts available and provides no support to service centers for them. I can not even download a service manual for it.

All laser printers use toner and drums. Some machines have the toner and drum combined. EVERY HP BLACK AND WHITE LASER PRINTER USES AN ALL IN ONE CARTRIDGE THAT CONTAINS TONER, DRUM AND OTHER COMPONENTS. There was one model like 15 years ago that did not use an all in one cartridge and to be honest I have never seen one.

So the advise you got about needing a drum was false. THE FIRST THING TO DO WHEN HAVING IMAGE QUALITY PROBLEMS IS TO CHANGE THE TONER. I dont care what, who, where you got it from or when you put it in. If you havent tried changing the toner, you need to. Even try an empty toner for 1-2 pages to rule that out.

Bring the machine by our shop off Ridge Road and 92, I'll tell you in 60 seconds for free whats wrong cause I am good like that :) You shouldnt throw out a machine because it has a bad toner. It could be the fuser as well but typically on these machines, the fusers shred or fall apart (they use a film assembly) before they ghost (repeat the image). I also have the toner in stock.

~sigh~ figures. I got a unit though that doesn't have a drum (I thought anyway). At one point I had a brother and it needed a drum unit every other month  something about the humidity in Georgia is what they told me.

Does anyone have experience with a Color Laser and the cost? I've heard they are VERY expensive and not really worth it...opinons?

Brother drums are notorious for being defective especially the older ones (dr100-dr-300)

Color lasers are expensive to run. depending on the machine, you need 4 cartridges, a drum, and a transfer unit. HP colors have 2 styles, single pass and 4 pass. Single pass machines are much faster because each toner has a drum and the paper goes by in pass. In a 4 pass system, there is one drum and a transfer unit. each color must process before the image is put on the page.

Point is, depending on the machine, there are numerous consumables. And the general rule is, the cheaper the machine, the higher the operating cost

If you are doing alot of color printing, color lasers are more durable, and cheaper to operate than inkjets. Yes cartridges may be $130 to $300 but look at the yield on them. You need to consider the overall cost per page when buying any machine. You also put wear and tear on all the items in a 4 pass system even when printing black and white so its not that great to use it for black and white the majority of the time.

You may want to consider Xerox Phasers as well

If anyone wants anymore info, call us at 770-222-4404. I will be more than happy to tell you what I know regardless of where you decide to buy. However we sell HP a few points less than office depot and provide better service.

  11. JLT hauled building trash---not residential. The address is 1120 Old Harris Road. I'm working on fliers right now!!

well if you need us to print them in black and white, let me know All we ask for is a eeny weeny credit at the bottom that we printed them.

If you want us to print them, you can bring it by or email it. PM me and let me know

  12. who was JLT? what did they do? Just curious if they were a garbage company or something

Where exactly is this for the newbs like me who are new to paulding? mapquest please? or an address?

Sounds like a bad idea to me. Why would anyone want a dump near their house. I think I would go ballistic if it was near my house

If you guys need to print some fliers, to pass around, let me know. We can run them off fairly easy on our high speed laser printers

  13. I'LL GO WITH DIRECT TV AND THEN I WON'T HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT MY RECORDINGS, DISAPPEARING/DELETING. :glare: <_<

    Yeah, uh huh, think again.

The boxes from Direct TV have issues as well. Software issues that are known and non fixable at this time.

Someone should start a class action suit. WHy are we paying for boxes that do not perform correctly???

  14. we use bellsouth for DSL and Direct TV for TV. We had comcast in Florida for TV and man I wish we had it here. We hate Direct TV. We had to pay an arm and a leg to get one HDTV box and a new HDTV dish because they messed up the original install. The boxes crash, its a known issue that they admit too. To top it off, for the money we paid, the boxes arent even ours.

COmcast doesnt serve our area or we would dump Direct TV in a heartbeat

  15. Thats a shame.

I am not a big baseball fan but helping my daughters softball team has been alot of fun. When I saw the post, I figured it would be tons of fun to play with grown up kids :)

I thought maybe the team could be big with 15-20 players, that way there will always be enough players to play a game cause some cant always make it.

If the idea comes up again, I would be in to play

  16. when we moved up here last year, we had sprint. coverage was horrible at our house by 101 and 120. and it wasnt that great other places either. so we got cingular. at first the customer service was horrible. we had multiple phones in 2 states and it took forever to get it all worked out. my poor wife was in tears over it. and my phone echoed alot in the beginning but i havent had that problem for some time. we get coverage just about everywhere except for a spot on 120.

so now its all worked out and they work fine.

  17. That go cart is no good people. Dont bid on it. Your kids will HATE it and a large adult like myself sure does not want it.

I am going to try to be there to buy it so none of you have to deal with it or be bothered. So nobody go or bid on it.

I am even willing to test drive it Saturday to prove its no fun. It may take several laps around the parking lot but I'll do it for my fellow pcommers.

FOr the record, I am kidding, I have no knowledge of the item but 200 sounds like a good starting price. I am being selfish and would like to get it for myself... I mean my kids, yeah for my kids.
