  1. What a great opportunity to showcase some local talent. Sounds like a fun show!
  2. A friend drove me out there a couple of weeks ago and we drove all around. It was the first time I had any idea where or whateveryone had been talking about on here. There was no sign of life, no movement, no nothing. We didn't see any humans or airplanes. Was NICE with a nice building, landscaping, etc, etc but sure did seem like a waste sitting there abandoned.
  3. HEY! I am sorry but the photo is from when the gloves originally arrived. DH and I both think we still have some for Alabama but I didn't put them on the list in this thread because we haven't been able to find where we put them "so we would know where they are!". I am not sure if they would fit Jacob but when I come across them I will be sure and let you know and we can try. THANKS.
  4. Been awhile for me, too, but it was what made the trip and the wait worth it!
  5. TRUE!! I said in the other Y&R thread there was so much focus on Daisy and the baby that she would probably be stillborn or something would happen and she (the baby) would reappear in a couple of years as an adult.
  6. SOOOO TRUE!!! Every time DH and I drive by K-Mart and see the few cars parked there we marvel on it still being open. Since Bryan was transferred as manager to Mableton it has continuously gone downhill!!!! The older fellow in the meat department has always been VERY helpful and informative at Kroger. We were told the lack of gas pumps was a huge issue in the decision to close it, too.
  7. AMEN!!! Jim IS THE BEST! I will go where ever they move him to. I AGREE!!! Overall it tends to be more expensive. They have really good meats and when they are on sale they cannot be beat!
  8. WTHeck was THAT all about????? A woman with an ankle monitor bracelet goes into labor and the baby's father says "Cut off the monitor, take her to the hospital and I'll call the monitor company and have them cut it off (electronically)". The bright thing to do would be to call an ambulance AND the police to escort her to the hospital IN THE SNOW!!!!! Some of the idiotic things they are doing these days just gets on my nerves!!! And, I agree with Phyllis - WTH falls into a raging volcano when they are already "dead"???? Just TOO much.
  9. We shop the Hiram Kroger because of the pharmacy. While there to get prescriptions refilled we will do our grocery shopping. It is easier for me to get around than the larger stores. The same boy (who we go to church with) bags our groceries every time and he told us 2-3 months ago that the store would be closing after the Holidays. That particular day there was only one other bagger than him. He said they had already started cutting the staff's hours in preparation. We discussed how typically retailers increase their employees hours during the Holidays. I hate to hear it is closing but where

  11. Walk The Line The Fugitive Million Dollar Baby Top Gun Gone With The Wind Pretty Woman Shawshank Redemption Heat Jagged Edge Body Double Double Jeopardy
  12. I may be in the minority but I LOVE the carving on Stone Mountain. I see it as a reflection and remembrance of the Old South. The artistry and ability to accomplish it in the era it was done is AMAZING. I have never seen it in person that it did not give me chills. I enjoy it and am glad it is there.
  13. She's dead this time! Victor cleaned up the aftermath so there is nothing to prove Skye was ever there - and let Adam go to prison for killing her (the faked death). With all the hoopla over the baby I am wondering if she will be stillborn or something happen to her?? OR is someone going to scoop her away only for her to return to GC as a grown up in a couple of years.
  14. My house smells SOOOOOOOO good with my Scentsy warmer. And, everyone in the family got a Scentsy warmer or plug-in (a total of 5) PLUS the scents bars and EVERYTHING was either FREE of I was able to get 1/2 off from my party. I was thrilled to pay only $70 for over $200 in merchandise ~ my kinda bargain!!! This is a GREAT deal with double 1/2 price items!!
  15. I didn't see it today - I was at the doctor's office and forgot to watch it on Soapnet at 7. Something must have happened?
  16. ME TOO!!!! I can NOT stand to start watching a movie after the beginning. One of my pet peeves. URGGGG!!!! DH will watch Westerns and War movies over, over and over again.
  17. And don't forget a place to get an oil change or a set of tires, too. YUMMMMMMMMMMM
  18. There is also another NEW Mexican Restaurant going in where Olga's used to be behind Checkers in the Kroger shopping center.
  19. THANKS A Friendly Geek and Riograce for the input. I had not thought of the battery life. It is possible to have a charged back-up battery? Can it be charged in the car with the cigarette lighter adapter?
  20. I initially thought I wanted a Kindle until I played with one on display at Target. Because of my vision impairment I am now considering an iPad. Even though I could enlarge the font on the Kindle I just didn't think I would like it as much as I initially thought. (When enlarged there were only 6-7 words per page and I think that would REALLY get on my nerves)From what I understand I can download books onto the iPad and it will be easier to read since the screen is larger. I am going to find one on display to play with and see if it will work. I want to be able to read, get online, etc while s
  21. A good laugh for people in the "Should I really join Facebook?" over 50 group !!! (Under 50, read it anyway!) Also for those who know people like us. When I bought my Blackberry I thought about the 30-year business I ran with 1800 employees, all without a cell phone that plays music, takes videos, pictures and communicates with Facebook and Twitter. I signed up under duress for Twitter and so my seven kids, their spouses, 13 grandkids and 2 great grand kids could communicate with me in the modern way. I figured I could handle something as simple as Twitter with only 140 cha
  22. From the lack of responses it doesn't appear anyone has?!?!??
  23. auction???? A thread was posted a few weeks ago about a new one owned by a Steve where an old computer place and I think where Brooks Salvage used to be??? Does anyone have any information about it or what type items they auction? The days/hours? If it is any good as far as good deals?? TIA for any info.
  24. DH served breakfast in bed and then he made homemade potato soup topped with fresh crumbled bacon, cheese and sour cream for lunch. He's got a tenderloin thawing out and will sear it and then wrap with pepper bacon to bake. Don't know what he plans to cook with it. What a GREAT day indeed!!!
  25. I had no idea but he definitely portrays the character perfect!
