Better be careful when you say this. It can be applied to society at large. You don't mind spending money to save lives right? If you can secure an airport, you should be able to secure a school. Let gun manufacturers subsidize the cost since you said they would be willing to pay for teachers to be trained. Let them pay to help secure the schools.

It's never about the money except for those that constantly complain about school taxes (property tax increases). It's about spending the money wisely on a productive solution.

I would add the cost of grief counseling should a teacher accidentally maim/kill a student. Would parents and students in any school district be accepting of that teacher if the teacher is reinstated? Would a maimed student that is now traumatized by the teacher's presence have to change schools or would the teacher be transferred out?

So who pays for the weapon? Who pays for the training? Where is the funding for liability for wrongful death going to come from?

So specifically what weapon should teachers be issued to confront a transitioning target in a crowd of students? What training should be required of these teachers? Your suggestion is just trucking stupid and the fact that you would double down on it is very telling...
