Have you seen any inspiring movies lately? It's been a while since I've seen anything.
I thought Faith Like Potatoes was pretty good. Did anyone else see it?

HGTV used to have the old Carol Duvall shows online, just search for them.
I loved watching her and learned so much (and spent so much too ).
Thanks. I searched the HGTV website and shorter segments came up. I searched using the longer video option at google and the shows came up at the DIY network website. This is a link that also lists their other shows that can be watched online, too. Scroll down and you will see the Carol Duvall show listed:

I miss Carol Duvall's craft show that used to come on HGTV. Did anyone else watch it? Is there any place to watch the past shows online?
I also watched Aleene's show. Her daughters, Tiffany and Heidi have some videos online.
Are there any craft shows on TV now?

Are there any book clubs for Christian books?

Are you looking for something fun and fascinating to do? Have you been looking for a place to meet interesting, well-rounded individuals? Then Book Lovers in Dallas, GA Book Club might be the place for you.
Our club consists of a diverse group of women that meet on the first Saturday of each month at 6:00 pm in Dallas, Hiram or Marietta, GA. Our aim is to simply gather to discuss contemporary fiction (all authors are welcome) and some non-fiction. Needless to say, we are a group of book lovers who enjoy thought provoking, fun and in-depth discussions about the books our members choose to read. It's a wonderful way to discover all the authors that are out here.
Members can choose a book of their choice and we will read it. We like to limit them to 500 pages or less and non-fiction. We would like for you to indicate that you plan to attend or not for each meeting. It will help us plan for future meetings. It's okay if you can't attend each meeting
If you are interested in joining us from time to time or you want to be included in the monthly meetings, you have two choices.
You can join us on Facebook:
http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=68417498196
Or you can join us on Group Spaces:

We hope to see you on one of these websites.
Happy reading!

Are there any local book clubs that focus entirely on non-fiction?
TIA!

Are your mashed potatoes homemade?

Look at it this way: any category not listed can always fall under the Saturday 'pick your pleasure' sale.
I thought about that, but I had rather shop there on a week day so I thought I would ask Bookworm and see what the store said.

I think it will be good knowing that far in advance what will be on sale when.
How broad are the categories? For example is crafts under Art? Also, I didn't see plants listed (gardening, etc.).

Someone mentioned this cake in the Black Bean Brownies thread. I thought I would post the recipe in a separate thread since some might be interested in it that weren't interested in the brownies.
I noticed one of the comments posted mentioned making it into cookies.

my sister for thanksgiving did thid with spice cake mix... just a can of pumpkin and a box of spice cake mix and nothing else. it was sooooo good.
What kind of pan did she use?

I've heard of them but never tried. There is also a weight watchers cupcake recipe that I have been meaning to try...Cake mix with pumpkin, to keep the fat down.
ETA
This super-simple 2-ingredient recipe is a Weight Watchers Fave!
1 box devil’s food cake mix
1 can solid pack pumpkin (15 oz.)
Directions:
Mix the two ingredients together. Don't add anything else that may be mentioned on the box, such as eggs, oil, or water. The mixture will be very thick and you will be tempted to add in other things to make the batter smoother. DO NOT DO THIS AS IT WILL RUIN EVERYTHING! Place batter into muffin tins (or mini muffin tins) lined with paper, or sprayed with non-stick spray. Bake at 400 degrees for 20 minutes. Makes 12 regular or 36 mini muffins.
Thanks. I'd like to try that recipe, too.

I have and I love them.
How do you make yours?
I remember you posted that you planned on trying them in this thread about some that were featured on The Dr. Oz Show:
-
Have any of you tried any of the black bean brownies? There are different versions posted online. Here's one that uses brownie mix, a can of black beans, and a small amount of chocolate chips. There are also flourless recipes made from scratch that are gluten free:

I noticed that You Tube has some Route 66 episodes posted in parts. Does anyone remember the one about a mermaid?
From TV.com/:
Episode Summary
The boys get jobs at the Weeki Wachee theme park in Florida. The park show features girls dressed as mermaids performing underwater. A shy girl Elissa emerges from the water and after demonstrating amazing underwater swimming talent is hired for the show. She talks about "coming from the sea" and implies that she is a real mermaid. Skeptical Tod falls for her but assumes that she just wants publicity to launch a movie career. Linc has a more open mind and believes her. Tod discovers too late that she was telling the truth.
