  1. I went to Longhorn the other night and ordered a steak. I am so glad that I wasn't charged with murdering an innocent cow. I have to admit, I was just hungry. I had no justified cause to stand my ground. But damn it, it was a DAMN good filet mignon! Hopefully, Paulding SO doesn't have a BOLO out of me for "carnivorizing" that poor bovine. Poor thing was just minding it's own business, eating corn feed, and BLAM... next thing ya know, he's dead on my plate.
  2. Uh... you can have a yard sale sign, as long as it's on private property.
  3. The Marshal's office is who is charged with enforcing county ordinances. It's illegal, by county ordinance to have any sort of sign on the county right of way. While they are full fledged police officers, the Marshal's don't typically go chasing drug dealers around on a daily basis. They did exactly what their job is.... enforce the law. Don't break the law and they won't take your sign. Signs are perfectly legal on your own property. You can't put a political sign out on county right of way. You can put a sign out on private property. If it's on county
  4. I thought that I heard they are electronic, but I cannot say that I am 100% positive on that. They may have started out to be electronic and then the game plan changed and the cost was too high.... <??>
  5. The reason they are doing it, good or bad is... It's illegal to put a sign out, in any manner, on the county right of way. The Marshal's office is constantly having to go out and take these private for sale, yard sale, "call me for service", and other signs up that clutter the intersections and look junky. The county decided to have these electronic kiosk signs put up. People who wish to advertise can buy a spot on the kiosk and have their electronic sign displayed. This will supposedly raise a little revenue and they hope it helps clean up the junky homemade signs that litter
  6. It's absolutely nice to see parents holding their kids responsible as well as the government in not just slapping their hands. However, if what you described is the actual case where it was a mere bump with no property damage and your kid was not drunk, driving reckless, or acting a fool, that much punishment is rather excessive. What happened to "punishment fitting the crime." I have no problems with the kids who are doing 20+ mph over the speed limit getting the book thrown at them. That's reckless conduct/driving and they deserve that kind of punishment. A simple accident, as
  7. It's not bad advice. There are certain things that you definitely want an attorney for, but there are plenty of times when you can easily do all the leg work necessary for the legal task you are trying to accomplish. For those things, Legal Zoom is perfect. And as stated, you can contact them if you have any questions or concerns and find out if/when an actual attorney would be needed.
  8. No, you made an issue when you stated that you spelled it correctly to make lowrider look like a fool by correcting you.
  9. It's still irrelevant. His post that quoted you quite clearly shows where you spelled it wrong, period. Like I said, why lie about it... just say "oops, I made a mistake..." and let it go.
  10. No, it was 6 minutes. Look at your post. It says, "Posted Today, 11:19 AM" Look at your edit. It says, "This post has been edited by peachesga: Today, 11:25 AM " That's not TWO minutes... that's SIX minutes. ..and regardless, you lied to and said you didn't misspell it when you did. It even shows up in the post that Animal made and quoted you in... Like I said, it wasn't a big deal... just say "oops, yeah, I corrected it..." rather than lie and say you spelled it correctly. Oh, my bad. "Attorneys." See how that works? I didn't lie about it. :r
  11. LOL, No, you didn't. You went back and corrected it, after the fact. That little thing at the bottom of your post that says "This post has been edited by peachesga: Today, 11:25 AM " which is 6 minutes after your incorrect spelling post and AFTER he corrected you. It also shows up in the reply Animal made to you, quoting your post. No reason to lie about it... it's not really that big of a deal. Sheesh! First, Legal Zoom is NOT the worst advice. Legal Zoom is run by attorney's. One of the founders is Robert Shaprio... maybe you've heard of him?
  12. It absolutely can. It's your evidence, just as their video is their evidence. I have in car video in all 4 of my vehicles. It's not quite as elaborate of the devices the patrol cars use, but it does cyclic recording and holds about 16hrs of video. Mine doesn't have the telemetry data on the screen, but it does show date and time. I have one with both front and rear firing camera and the other three are front firing only. The units in the police cars cost upwards of $5k each because they do a lot of stuff you really wouldn't need in a normal passenger car. I believe I pai
  13. There's a solution to that, as well. In some areas, emergency vehicles are equipped with strobe lights that flash at a very specific interval. There are sensors on the traffic lights that sense these strobes and stop traffic in the opposite and perpendicular directions. You could implement the same type of sensor that would retract the spikes when an emergency vehicle approaches. But... the problem with that is just as CreativeOne stated... the government will says it's too cost prohibitive for the number of occurrences that happen. It's the same story with traffic lights. The
  14. Why not directional pop up spikes like they have in rental car lots? You drive the wrong way, you get four flat tires and you sit there waiting for your ticket/arrest.
  15. Sorry, it's not my opinion, it's fact. I'm not wasting my time posting anything supporting what I've said, because you will just dismiss it as lies and made up stories, just like you always do. You post nothing but left wing studies that are so flawed and out of reality, it's simply insane. When someone posts anything to the contrary, you tell them they are wrong and the studies or articles are bogus. It's funny how many people think and have facts differently than you, but yet they are always wrong. Maybe it's YOU who need to do a little more research and find out the real fac
  16. Total and complete bullcheeze. Wonder why? In general, the wealthier the parents, the 'better' the community they live, and the more money is dedicated to education, in which better, more qualified teachers are hired... in which better instruction occurs. The same thing happens with private schools. Better quailty of education comes when better teachers and funding is available. Thank you for proving my point about the private schools. I'm not comparing them. Society compares them. It's a fact that, in general, private schools produce better educated individuals
  17. Yes, I am happily married. If you mean to her? Uh... No.
  18. <<BUZZ>> Wrong again. "You do realize that the "rankings" change had less to do with our educational policy and more to do with better education in other countries, right?" You said NOTHING about the other countries improving and catching up to the US. You said they have better education in other countries, which is absolutely true. Bullcheeze! We have failed to keep up with other countries, therefore we have fallen behind. 50 years ago, we were light years ahead of other countries in education. I didn't say that you rejected the idea of reform.
  19. Well, I'm sorry that I'm not so politically correct and pussy-fied as some other people. I call them, like I see them. Sorry, but they are not my prepositions, and they are factual. If they were not factual, the education system as a whole would not be, nor have been, under so much fire for the past 10-15 years to raise the standards to keep up with other countries. YOU just got through saying that other countries have a better education system. YOU said that. That is exactly my point. If our education system had a better system, it's pretty damn logical that they are
  20. I really don't know... as it has been a few years since I've been in school, but a foreign language was a requirement, when I was in school. Even in college, it was a per-requisite to have high school foreign language classes. Is it different now for kids in high school? Are they not required to take some form of foreign language?
  21. Well, no sheeze Sherlock! If the kids aren't being educated well enough, do you think those same kids who grow up to be teachers are going to be educated well enough to teach on a higher level than those from other countries? That was a stupid comment! If our education system falls below that of other countries, everything else, including the economy will follow. Well first, I don't listen to Boortz and if you think the education system through high school is better now than it was in the 50's - 60's, you're a fool. The US has some of the better secondary education i
  22. Come on, you're not that stupid, are you? Compare those numbers that we turn out to the numbers of the same from the 50's & 60's vs. the populace. The current percentage is lower. Yeah, we turn out all of those... but look at the drop out rate and the actual success rate of students, as well as our educational rankings compared to other countries. They are a far cry from what they used to be and continue to dwindle at an alarming rate.
  23. That's easy. There are three ways to do it. It's a little on the technical side, but here's how: First, look on the backside of the VCR where all the wires are. Find the wire that has a two or three prong electrical plug on the end. Un-plug it. The clock will stop blinking within a second or two. Or, if you have trouble with that. Go to the hardware store (unless you have some in your toolbox)... Buy a roll of pressure sensitive insulating vinyl tape (also known as electrical tape). Cut a short piece, about three to four inches long and adhere it directly to the plastic or
  24. I would like to know one thing. The school systems in United States are so far behind a LOT of other countries. Our schools are so pussy-fied now that they have children graduating high school who can barely read. The math scores, throughout this country are horrible. The 'system' passes children based on not hurting their feelings rather than acedemic merit. So, how are you going to expect a school system to properly teach children another language when they can't instruct the current curricula? I know there are some great teachers out there. However, there are so many
