I did not know about the 900 who lost jobs. You have asked some good questions.
-
This is very good news. 700 new jobs and close to home!!!! :yahoo: :yahoo: http://www.ajc.com/news/new-home-depot-facility-1215506.html

Last I heard Cobb residents are not in favor of it either and the Commission Chair had to back off the TSPLOST because his chances for re election were in doubt.
-
I won't be there so give us a report please.
-
Could it be that their residents and commissioners are not in favor of it?
-
I can't answer all of those question but I was told that it would be built and maintained by a private company and the toll would last forever.
-
Guess you are right. It sucks to get too tired to run from it any more.

LPPT, if my grandkids follow in their grandparents foot steps we will have to fly further than Utah to visit. Not many folks stayed in our home town and we always knew we would have to move to have a decent job. We moved a lot for a long time. Nothing new to us. No big deal unless you are one of the few!

This is what you said: "Frankly I find it quite insulting how you are so beligerent toward people are have a different opinion". That is also what I said! I just said it in other words.
-
Funny that is just what I said!

And it is easy to throw rocks at people you don't agree with apparently. Some moved to Paulding for the things this supposed progress will harm. They have a right to their property and to their opinions. If jobs near you are a concern move near the jobs. I have grandchildren here and my motives have absolutely nothing to do with paying no taxes or less taxes. I moved here long before that could ever be an issue. I think some of what you have said is insulting to people who have a right to their opinions and feelings about this county.

Especially if you turn your back on Shane or he needs to feed the Z's to make his get away.

Pubby, did you miss the part where I said HE CHOSE to drive that far. His reasons have not changed. We were advised by others he worked with to move to the nice area of Stone Mountain. Boy am I glad we chose to do the best thing for our kids! Obama really should not work so hard to kill the oil business the way he has. The price of gas would not be so high. We just need to get him out and a conservative in and that will change. Obama and the EPA have regulated businesses out of business! Oh, and it was not my father it was my Husband.

Do you want to take a guess as to why my Hubby drove from Cobb and Paulding to Atlanta to work for so many years? It was because we wanted a place to raise our children where the crime rate was lower and we were not afraid to send the kids out to play or to school every day. He drove for the sake of his family. Do you think we would want any less for our grand children. He would do it again and I suspect most folks who live in Paulding would too. The kind of progress you are talking about makes rich men out of a few and changes the quality of life for almost everyone.

I understand your point of view I just do not think a Toll Road will accomplish all of this. I don't think it would accomplish any of it.

I found it. Thanks. http://www.cbsatlanta.com/story/15915595/mayors-race-in-small-city-of-dallas-turns-ugly

I have a real problem with the eminent domain issue!
-
How does this make it OK to sell our roads and the control of them (not to mention the price to travel on them) to a foreign Company? Not sure that is who would build them but I believe they are making moves to build them in other counties.
-
Somehow I did not think that you would! It would NEVER get my vote! I am going to add that a commissioner who voted for this probably would not get my vote again either.
-
Is it a foreign company? I have a problem with companies in other countries owning toll roads in the USA. I know they do in other states already.

Maybe it won't go Democrat yet. I met a young man by the name of Michael Miller who has announced for District 66. He is on the BOE in Douglas County and he is an attorney. Very bright capable young man.
