Could not say because I was not there. I am here reading your comments. I actually enjoy conversations with you sometimes. I happen to know folks who do love their guns and KNOW that Obama would take them if he could. They are not racist and that is what I read in your post. You must have moved to a far different part of Georgia than I live in.
-
Excuse me... She is the one that made some not so polite comments about my home state. I just asked a question.
-
Are you sure? Last I heard Georgia is what they call a donor state because they pay more in taxes than they get back.
-
If you feel it is that bad why did you choose to call it home again? Just curious.
-
I agree that doing the right thing is vital. Turn them in just don't look for anything to happen for awhile.
-
Then get in line because there are so many big cases the investigators work that a small one like this may take years to get to.
-
You are in this position through no fault of your own. Don't lose hope and don't put any stock in what idiots say. Bless your kids for being there.

Not happy that the yes vote made the farm subsidies permanent. They have had to come up for a vote every 4 years or so but not any more.. This was not a wise move in my opinion.

Walmart Threatens To Pull Out Of D.C. Over 'Living Wage'
NewsJunky replied to michaelsudan's topic in RECENT TOPICS
Pubby there is a difference between skilled and unskilled workers and the salary usually reflects that. Most folks look at a job at Walmart as a stepping stone rather than a permanent position. In this economy most folks are grateful to have a job of any kind. Not sure I would want the grief If I owned Walmart I might be tempted to take the money already in the bank and shut up shop. Appears that is what they are doing in DC. -
Walmart Threatens To Pull Out Of D.C. Over 'Living Wage'

They already require that businesses pay $1.00 more an hour over minimum wage. Walmart is wise not to build there. No telling what the council may jack them up for in the future. -
Walmart Threatens To Pull Out Of D.C. Over 'Living Wage'

Read that Walmart has stopped construction on 3 stores in Washington DC because the city council voted to make them pay $12.50 an hour. 1800 jobs were just lost that could have employed out of work folks. What idiots sitting on the city council. -

You mean that they should not be allowed to have that much money? That the government should just take it and redistribute it? Isn't that un-American? -
Walmart Threatens To Pull Out Of D.C. Over 'Living Wage'

Not surprised at the lean this article takes. It is from the Washingston Monthly. I think Walmart is so hated by the left that it needs to take the money out of the stores and close their doors. End of Walmart and the haters will be happy. -
Don't know about any of that. I don't shop there.
-
I did not say profit and prices were more important. I said without those things Walmart would not exist. Without walmart those employees would not have a job. They don't make them work there. I said they should get two jobs if they need to I did not say they are due food stamps. Sorry you are so put out because Walmart is a for profit business. Don't shop there if you don't like them.
-
I never said it was ok to supplement cheap labor. I think people should get two jobs if it takes it to feed their families. It is not an employers responsibility to take care of the employee above giving them a job. If the employee can't live on the salary they need to work their way into a higher paying job or get two. I just said food stamps should be for needy Americans NOT illegals. Been there and done that so I know it can be done. This economy just makes it more difficult. BTW there is at least one poster on p.com who does have two jobs. Hats off to Mr. Dis.......
-
Business does not exist to take care of their employees. They exist to make a profit. If they did not make a profit they would not be able to hire folks and pay them a salary of any sort. Last time I checked people shop Wallmart because they get good deals. If they paid a higher wage maybe the business would fall off and the store would go out of business. I would rather give food stamps to a American who needs them any day instead of a citizen from another country who comes here illegally and then expects Americans to feed them.

LPPT, you know that I respect your right to your opinion. You also know that I don't agree at all on this issue. Won't be the first time. Glad we remain friends in spite of the difference in views. -

Yes it does. First reports are so misleading....... Middle section of the plane burned out. It had to be a bad fire. -

Could not disagree with you more. Fighting for freedom to live without oppression is not a progressive idea at all. It is a human idea. Even animals fight for freedom and I would not call them progressive. When we become like the country those folks you are speaking of ran from there will be no where else to run to in the hope of finding freedom. We are on our way. The British thought of the Founding Fathers as rebels and trouble makers I am sure. Kind of like some view the present day Tea Party. The IRS apparently view them that way to target them the way they did. What do yo -
