  1. i dunno what i pay, it's all rolled in. we have the family plan instead of paying for each one individually.
  2. you go girl!!!!! i don't use my at&t phone for data. but my kids do.
  3. surprise charges piss me off. so do changes to existing plans, without prior knowledge on the part of the consumer. letting the public know that you're going to be charging more, eventually, and that they will be advised of those specific charges, gives them the chance to decline. i'm ok with that. AT&T just needs to be prepared for folks to say, 'no thank you'.
  4. i can see why. according to the statute that UGAdawgs posted, it is against the law. but according to case law, it's not. according to the statute consent is no defense. according to the transcripts of tried cases that were dismissed, it is.
  5. i'm on the site 'badbadteacher' right now... looking up georgia cases. you'd be surprised (or maybe not) at the number of teachers who've been arrested for sexual assault when the student was 16 and above, and have the charges dismissed. why then, is the same charge still being sought against teachers in the same situation?
  6. i guess that's fair, so long as the consumer's are informed and aware of this at the time that the service is activated. i'd have to think that they would grandfather in the folks who've already signed up for the "unlimited" plan.
  7. and last year(or the year before), there was a teacher charged for having sex with a student who was over 16, consenting, and not enrolled at the school where he taught.
  8. and then after we've been educated, will they change their wording to clearly state that they're NOT offering unlimited service, but rather x amount of megabytes?
  9. i'm really not the monster that i've made myself out to be. i just can't abide by double standards. and i want the government out of my bedroom. i know it's a leap, but once they've set the age of consent, and then changed those laws to exclude a sector of the population from legally doing what virtually everyone else is allowed to do, by law,........ does this not open the door to more laws being changed? are we not giving our government more opportunity to stick their noses into our private business, to regulate what happens between consenting adults?
  10. i just wish that i could have helped you sooner. being broken in to, having your space invaded, knowing your things were touched by strangers... such a feeling of violation. i hate that you went through that.
  11. my heart breaks for your losses. do you need assistance with moving the rest of your things into a storage unit? i can pitch in with labor, and some of the cost of the unit itself.
  12. misconstrued/innocent situations aside....i am proud of the school system for demanding ethics and morals from their teachers and employees. i say, good for them. take away a teachers ability to teach if they break the bond of trust with students and parents. i do not agree that the law should involve itself in consensual sex acts between adults of legal age. i do believe in employers using their power to hold their employees to whatever standards they wish.
  13. this is the version i found when i googled. apparently, there's been an update made. taken from 'lectric law 16-6-5.1. Sexual assault against persons in custody; sexual assault against person detained or patient in hospital or other institution; sexual assault by practitioner of psychotherapy against patient. (a) As used in this Code section, the term: 1. "Actor" means a person accused of sexual assault. 2. "Intimate parts" means the genital area, groin, inner thighs, buttocks, or breasts of a person. 3. "Psychotherapy" means the professional treatment or counseli
  14. why? and how is this not discrimination? walmart greeters can have sex with students who are over the legal age of consent. so can gas station attendants, mechanics, foot ball players, etc. why make this a law? employers have every right to set about their own code of conduct as a condition of employment. why make a law that's a double standard? i'm not sure, but i think that sex with a student is cause for revocation of your teaching certificate. perhaps a teacher can clarify this. if you loose your certificate, can you relocate to a new district?
  15. agreed. he was charged with 'sexual assault against a person in custody'. this law very specifically spells out what a 'person in custody' is considered to be, and the words 'teacher' and 'student' never come in to play. the student/teacher relationship gets called to the carpet every time though, and there have been convictions. 'an interpretation of the law' is what that is. for all you people who are about to hop up and down and say the guy should do time, lemme ask you this. are you willing to let your children be considered 'in custody' simply because they are enrolled in s
  16. the washateria? girl, i am way too snobby to go slummin' 'round there!!!
  17. i don't believe we're acquainted. i'm not their mom, nor am i a grandmother. i married their father after they were grown and actually, i prefer not to celebrate christmas at all, being that i do not subscribe to the christian religion. but i'm happy to buy gifts for little children. that scrooge-ish enough for ya?
  18. two of the three older girls are married, with kids now. we used to give each of them a gift card for the same amount. then when the two older ones got married we gave the couples the same amount as the youngest daughter. now that they have kids, they get nothing. the kids each get toys in the amount of the gift card that the youngest still gets. fair? not sure. but my budget couldn't handle multiplying the way the family size did.
  19. in the real world, it's not possible to scan your own cigarettes.
  20. someone just tell me if it's worth the hassle.
  21. i was fortunate in that i wasn't working, and my son had a large enough room that i could put a twin bed in it. he slept in his crib and i slept in the twin bed so my husband wouldn't be disturbed during the night. i'd put the baby in the little bed with me to nurse, then put him back in his crib when he was done eating. we all got a lot more sleep that way.
