    by all means, please honor your daughter. she's worked very hard. she deserves recognition. make a huge effort. throw a party, take her to dinner, have a spa day with her. let her know just how much you appreciate her hard work. honor her.

    there was no 'civil union' paperwork to fill out when we went to the courthouse. i specifically asked. nope. i got stuck with a 'marriage ceftificate'. next time, i won't even go that far. just claim 'domestic partnership' on my medical insurance coverage forms and be doen with it.
