Call/Contact me, Steve at 678 591 4702. Many of you know me, and I am just under a new name for now in order to help people. (thanks Pubby & LPPT for helping me on this) When it comes to the real work, the repairs, the remodels, please contact me, as I will be available to d.o all this work, charging a very very low labor price to all pcommers. Steve and I (Nemie) believe in helping our community in whatever ways possible. We always have believed in working and helping others whenever and wherever possible, whether it be people or pets. We have been on both ends of giving/helping and receiving help ourselves. If anyone needs any kind of help right now, call us. I think they probably need volunteers and would be quite interested in your skills. (West Ridge Church) ... will be hosting Samaritan's Purse Disaster Relief Team beginning (Today). This organization was started by Billy Graham and his son, Franklin, and is one of the largest relief organizations in the world. They will be bringing a fifty-three foot trailer and four other trailers full of tools and gear to help us serve those from our community cleaning up from the flood. There will also be 30-40 volunteers from outside of our community who will be here. They plan to be here for three weeks. We will be publishing a designated phone line and Samaritan's Purse will do intake for every need that comes in. They will canvass some of the hardest hit areas beginning tomorrow afternoon. They will assess every project before volunteers go out, and will help us organize volunteers from the community into teams and send them out. We hope to have that phone line available tomorrow. In the meantime, people with needs or volunteers can call WRC tomorrow. Several other churches in NW Atlanta that were involved in the Community Makeover (and others) will be sending volunteers to help. Anyone from the NW Atlanta community is welcome to use this tool to help serve their neighbors. I also called an organization called Gleaning for the World and they are sending 3500 blankets, 300 pairs of shoes and 4 pallets of water. We will distribute some through the Red Cross but please let others know we have these things. We will distribute this truck load and other donations until they are gone. Gleaning for the World can also provide more water, shoes, soup and muscle milk if we need it. The charges are minimal but you also have to pay for the freight. That gets to be a bit more, but if someone (or organization) would like to bring in more aid in the community we can have trucks here in a day. Link to post Share on other sites
