  1. Thanks for the support. Please write the Congressmen and Senators and the President. Reject Military Retirement COLA Cuts The proposed Bipartisan Budget Act of 2013 aims to provide budget stability and help ease the harmful effects of sequestration on the defense budget. However, one provision within the bill would penalize current and future military members who have served our nation for over twenty years. Specifically, it cuts the annual Cost of Living Adjustment (COLA) for uniformed service retirees by 1 percent a year until age 62. The cuts will have a devastating and long-las

  3. Have to pay .5% more what are you talking about? Age 40 seems kind of off and last time I ck'e the average life spain isn't 80 for men or women. I think you are watching to much FOX new At least the American Public is outraged by this unlike some of you in Paulding County. I am pretty sure this will be fixed before it goes into affect. Thank you.
  4. WOW! SMDH We are not asking for more we want what they took away. My husband just retired after 25 years and I was married to him for almost all of that time not to mention I meet him a mere month or so after he joined. We knew what we were getting into it? Yeah didn't think the GOVT would take money away from us and give it to the illegals. That I am even on here defending this is just unreal.

The latest. "Republican Georgia Sens. Saxby Chambliss and Johnny Isakson introduced a resolution to formally voice their opinion — known as a sense of the Senate — to ease concerns of military members and their families, The Hill reported." http://www.newsmax.com/US/budget-deal-Murray-military/2013/12/18/id/542670 And Murray is coming back with her excuses. http://politicalticker.blogs.cnn.com/2013/12/18/murray-compromise-was-necessary-on-military-pension-cuts/

Part of the time is spent sleeping and cooking and chilling out watching TV when there is nothing going on. 24 hours is not spent working. I learned that watching RESCUE ME Really how many fires are put out each day in COBB COUNTY? I could see them going to accidents each day and people getting hurt, having heart attacks etc but fires not that much. In Maryland they didn't even pay firefighters where I lived they were all volunteers. I do love me some HOT firefighters

  9. Promoting this for a friend in MD. Not to use Military retirement pension as a solution to the Federal Government's budget issue. Military retirees could loose anywhere from $70,000-$124,000 in retirements that were earned and promised. While we loose 1% of our retirements new federal workers just have to pay only 0.5% extra in their pension fund. I fail to see where this is fair to those that are on call 24 hours a day 7 days a week. We do not receive overtime when we are called in after our shifts. We leave our families and deploy anywhere from 6 months to 18months in some of the worst

It's still unacceptable to go back on a promise....Sure most still work you cant live on the average amount that the retirement is.....Maybe CAPT's could I think they get about 60K or 70K but most of them served for at least 30 years...The ones I know did. Some of the people that get disabled it is for reasons that had nothing to do with the military, they are only getting it because something happened to their health while on active duty. Example heart issues and even if you get a hysterectomy you get disability for that. Are they not cutting Fed workers now? From Ryans website.

ITA...DH joined back in 1988...You don't go back on a promise. They are trying to get rid of it all together and get them on 401 type plan. But that would be for new people joining...Been talking about it for 2 years or so, hasn't happened yet. Here's how Ryan is justifying it. They want to kick it to the newly retired (middle aged guys) http://budget.house.gov/news/documentsingle.aspx?DocumentID=364048

When I worked at my last job, most of the GOVT workers were former or RETIRED military. From how it was explained to me...If they want to retire faster they don't take the Military Pension and put it into the GS system then they can retire at 30 years. Some did that but not all. Dang I guess DH should look for a GS job HUH?

That is not true. I keep saying Ryan because I knew who he was and I just didn't know that CHICKS name..Murray I guess it is...Never heard of her till yesterday. I don't care what party they are I just care about how they VOTE! I pretty much hate both parties equally. Not once did I NOT mention both of them. I will admit I did call her a CHICK as I said above I didn't know her name or feel like looking it up cause I was so MAD last night. You are the one bringing party into it cause your above statements look like you are tying to give Ryan the benefit of a doubt. They both SUCKKKKKKKKK

I didn't miss anything....But I'll just skip over your posts....Next time..................This has nothing to do with Firemen unless your pensions are also being cut...If not....no reason to even bring it up in this topic. Thank you. :clapping:

Well interesting how you posted that. Is this your way of saying it is OK to take away from Military Pensions? HMMMMMMMMMM Are they cutting the fireman Pension? From what I remember about COBB county (your get TWO cobb county and GA pensions) and you only spend 24 hours at work and then get 2 or 3 days off in a row and then it repeats itself. Now that DH retired I actually see less of him. He works on the average 12 hour days 6 days a week and then he sleeps all day so I see him a total of 3 hours a day. So don't go there. I'm in a bad mood today. As for 5.6 years DH was g

Being on Prime is better Postman...It would be less cost to the Retired member. If you are active duty it is free for service member and family. If he signs it I agree. Ryan is the one who put it in the bill!!!!!! OMG...Quit bringing party into it. Glad to read Gingrey didn't vote yes!

    GOVT

Retired military should NOT have to share in any CUTS......How many of us are out there getting shot at and spending months and years away from their kids? If 1% join it is even less than that that do 20+ years. I see the DRAFT coming back, cause no way would I do 20 years with this going on. That this is even considered just shows how much the POLITICIANS care for the military and appreciate the sacrifices they and their families made.

I hold Paul Ryan and that CHICK the most responsible for this....And ALL of them that voted YES! I already told LYNN, really he has a girls name, that he will never get my vote and I will tell everyone I know how he voted. There are lots of Retired military in my area. He messed up. He's been in office so long he probably thinks he will have no problem getting elected or is going to retire anyway and get his nice FAT pension.

So they shut the GOVT down over ObamaCare which they knew would do nothing, but won't stand up for the VETS...WOW that makes so much SENSE. Why was this even put in the bill to begin with?

    GOVT

:clapping: :clapping: :clapping: What makes it so shocking to me that it was even considered....Really how many US citizen actually serve in the Military 20+ years? If only 1% even joins up, many of them and myself included don't do 20? It's probably a way to keep people from not wanting retire...another way for the GOVT to save money. Not to mention you still pay taxes on your pension. At this point forward, I will NOT vote for any politician unless they are a VET or has a child serving. BUT it probably won't matter much just look at stuff OL John McCain has said. He di
