I would look less at whether there was a D or R beside the name than I would the Occupation. Student does not cut it for me!

There is another candidate that signed up as a Republican this morning.....Steve Golden. I know of him, but no details.
I watched and listened to Avery's video of a speech he presented last month concerning education and he is an articulate speaker who had some very good thoughts. This district is one of the most conservative in the state though, and many will not vote for him no matter what just because he is a Dem. I agree that is cutting off your nose in spite of your face, but that is indeed Paulding County.
Mr Avery's physical appearance will not help him out with those voters. I am not saying that is right or wrong, only stating what I think is a fact.
Yeah, so was PIBO.

Ok, my work day often starts about 5am and sometimes runs past 8pm so I usually cant take time to post….
However, I know Will Avery. He is a very serious, honest, intelligent and informed man. He is also one of the hardest working people you could ever meet. He is a dedicated family man and trustworthy to a fault.
We do need to replace Mr. Stout but not because he made a mistake many years ago. That has no bearing on this race or his qualifications.
It is his voting record and zealotry that make him unqualified.
My knowledge of the other candidate is limited so I reserve my judgment till I have done more research. I seriously doubt that there is anyone else running that can match Mr. Averys intelligence or knowledge of the issues. This state needs more people like him in both parties.
BTW, anyone who votes for any candidate primarily because of party affiliation, Democrat or Republican, is doing damage to their community and country. And if you vote for or against someone because of their hairstyle… !
When facism comes to America it will be wrapped in the flag and carrying a cross.
Sinclair Lewis
Yeah, the hair, someone needs to tell him this isn't the 60s.
He has about as much of a chance of winning as earth being hit by an astroid.
Your Sinclair comment is absurd as well.

That's OK. If you had I would just have had to change my wording to be 4 I could not vote for.
Ah, I just feel the love. Besides, it wouldn't matter.
-
Okay, how does it change the choices we have? Unless our "Average Joe" decides to throw his/her name in the hat we will have ONE of these people. I will not fail to vote. That won't happen.
Too bad it wasn't me, the Average Joe to do that. Just not the right time for me yet but then the pay; I would not survive on. But who knows.
I was asked by two in the party and one person at work to run for something but as I said, now is not the time.

I just checked out his website - he reminds me of Forman from That 70's Show. I may be going with plan B, the "eenie, meanie, miney, moe" decision-making process.
It's on his Twitter site: http://twitter.com/AveryforGeorgia
Avery looks like some washed out liberal teacher from California.
I found his Facebook page. Is that really him with the fuzzy hair?
If he is so interested in education, why didn't he begin his political career with the school board?
Avery looks like some washed out liberal teacher from California...still laughing when I saw his picture.
He has no chance of winning and since they usually meet in a house somewhere, I don't see him getting very far.

How soon we forget. Can you say repetitive school bond votes ?
And can you say...provide facts.
I take you don't know Paulette well.........
And Stout is another philandering theocrat.
Avery appears to be the class clown.
Not much to choose from at this point, not much at all.
Maybe an Independent will come along.
I do know Paulette well enough and also discussed the school board issues of the past and where she stands.

Politico is reporting that Austin Scott will drop his campaign for Governor and challenge Democratic Rep. Jim Marshall in the state's 8th Congressional District! I hope he goes for it! I think he could win.
That is interesting as I think he was going to go after Cagle's spot but I guess he changed his mind.
-
Paulette Braddock (District 19) and Mel Everson(labor Commissioner) are qualifying tomorrow.
-
Apparently the SOS website hasn't updated, because she isn't listed there.
Any word on anyone else entering the 19th district race?
I am checking with her; her site is also up and announcement has been made.
I don't remember when qualifying ends but (nevermind)Melvin Everson is running for Labor Commissioner and he isn't listed yet either.
-
Paulette has officially entered the race and her campaign is now in full-swing.

Prayers for Nancy and family.
Nancy is the Paulding County GOP Women's group President.

NAACP says the State's lack of funding for the Black Colleges has created Second Class Schools. Anybody have any thoughts on this. It made me think of some of the comments about racism in recent post. I guess I am not quite understanding the need for a lawsuit.
Like they think they are the only ones. Again---->

Many start up churches and even more established churches use members' homes as places to hold meetings, bible studies, and even services.
This town says it is illegal. Is this the beginning?
Yep but actually such things have been going on for awhile against Christians.

She should not be held guilty by association. She worked for the county.
She is one of the most honorable people I know. She would be great for this job.
However I can understand the assumption that some may have. She is her own person and always
will be. Good Luck Beverly you will be great in this position.
Very true and I have spoken to her recently to send me some info and she has.
Some are just stuck on Jerry and attaches him to everyone

As a Republican.
-
Beverley Cochran was Jerry Shearin's Assistant for most if not all of his 8 years in office.
Having been a protege' to, and mentored by King Jerry for those many years, I would definitely have some difficulties supporting her in this election.
Got any proof of that? Nope, didn't think so.

We do not want any more references to it posted on this site.
As I said you can build yours the same way G.Patton Hughes did. The hard way
Actually mine really isn't that hard, so no sweat is needed due to the fact what I do is news topic/issue centered.
But hey, no problem.

That's all you've got? Please, tell me why I'm wrong.
Support him if you wish. That's certainly your right. But don't be surprised or disappointed when others don't. And please don't have an expectation that by quoting the Bible I'm just going to jump on board with this.
Someone willing to risk so much to run in this race has a BIG agenda. You need not look further than who his biggest supporters are to know what that agenda really is. We didn't need someone with their own agenda in this spot. Honestly, I really wish now the Gov. had just appointed someone.
Don't you find it curious some of Pcom's biggest distractors are quiet on this one? There's nothing for them to do here. Mr. Stout has single-handedly done what they couldn't! Imploded the Paulding republican party. And for that he makes no apologies.
And what agenda might that be? What has he "done" to the county? What crime exists? What risk for himself?
I'll say this everyone is certainly within their rights of their own opinion of the matter just as I do.
After getting to know him more and after listening to his young daughter Thursday night and briefly interviewing a man who without Daniel inviting him to the arms of Christ doesn't know where his life would be, I know my support decison was the correct one.
I know what its like to forgive someone(whose actions were 10x worse and a felony no less) who hurt many people including me and I know how it felt afterwards. I felt that same feeling although Daniel's actions didn't affect me or anyone else on this site but the power of forgiveness is beyong words.
If others wish to support another candidate, it is your right.
I am comfortable in my thoughts on the matter.
-
Whatever.
It sure is nice to cast as a stone at someone who has done nothing other than used his right under the Constitution to run for office in which he has done no harm to the county at large other than what others think about Paulding in general.
It's nice to know that some can see the future of someone and accuse them that they have damaged the county based on what someone else while serving in office did.
Looking for that 100% perfect person, born that way since birth...oops, there isn't one.
