  1. So far our Debbie Downers are AuntSug and Mrshoward... ^_^

I'm not thrilled about him getting one, but I can't keep him in a bubble. He can either learn young, under the supervision and guidance of his father or I can wait until later in life when he's a stupid teenager, living in Woodstock that thinks he's invincible.

You see, this isn't about me, it's about my son. I had to come to terms with my hatred of guns for the same reason. ATV's, guns, etc. are a part of southern culture.

Wow you called me names - that's a first

  2. oh and all the DRAMA about the bullet hole...it was in a top window that is covered....not a big deal...........kids didnt notice

 Your saying it's NOT a big deal that the mall hasn't fixed a hole that represents a tragedy? Any PR person will tell you that the best thing for them to have done was fix that window ASAP AND remove the carpet stains. It may have been costly but it would have gone a LONG way to making the area at least "feel" safer. Now it's just a reminder that at any moment a bullet can whiz by your kid's head.

  3. I haven't read this whole thread - just saw the ending about chicken fighting. I've help raise, train and observe chicken fights. I've also raised pit bulls. Here is the big difference between chicken fights and dog fights

A game hen lays eggs, those eggs hatch, the chicks grow up together, the game cocks (brothers, raised together) will come of an age where they will fight to the death if not separated. Doesn't matter if they've been trained (handled) or not - heck they'll even fight their own reflection in vehicles. The need/want to fight is ingrained in their DNA.

A pit bull gives birth to a litter of pups, they grow up together, create a pack, they will NOT fight to the death. They will fight together to protect their territory from threat, they will fight each other to establish the pack order but they will not fight to the death. They must be trained from a young age to be vicious. If left to their own devices they would rather just be sweet lap dogs.

And there in is the difference between cock fighting and dog fighting - one is a natural design and one is man's force on the animal

  4. I just emailed my daughter as my granddaughter is on Peach Care with this same Dr.'s office...here is what she told me:

"That doctor's office will not accept NEW PATIENTS who have peach care, Medicare, and Medicaid patients since January 2007. Also, every year you get a notice in the mail from peach care with a review you must fill out. If you do not keep up with the reviews they cancel insurance and make you re-apply. If your insurance is cancelled it removes that doctor's office as your PCP. Once they are removed as your PCP you can't add them back on because they are not a provider any longer for new policies and new patients. So if you try to go back to that doctor it is considered a new plan and they no longer accept new plans even if you have been bringing your child since birth. Those people that got turned away didn't keep up with there requirements for the insurance. Everything is fine with Shelby 's plan. She can continue to go there as long as I keep up with the paperwork through Peach care or if I change her insurance."

I told her it might be worth a phone call to make sure all was well with her dr.'s office, but she was just there 3 weeks ago sick (she stays sick a lot and is there almost every 4-6 weeks with something) and there was not a problem. Just thought I would pass that information along to you guys...I know NOTHING about Peach Care, Medicare or Medicaid patients, so I have no knowledge on this subject at all...just trying to provide what information that was given go me. Hope it helps.

How ODD - we have Peachcare/wellcare for about 3 years now and we have NEVER had to fill a review sheet out. I get regular "reminders" to take my kids in for check ups and dental appts. (which they I do anyway) but never had to fill out something

  5. I have a friend and she wants a pair of these: 31vULw1MZRL._SS500_.jpg

She wants them in Brown - I guess that's brown, you'll have to ask her to specify which brown as they have a chocolate too but that looks black.

    She really wants them

And hopes to get them BEFORE Christmas

    PLEASE!!!

She's been extra good this year and deserves them ^_^

    Thank You :p

  6. 2 dogs here - one from the paulding shelter one saved a day BEFORE going to the Douglas shelter. The stay out side all day, come in and go straight to their room (the laundry) until the morning when they go out again. I TRIED to do the 'in/out' thing but that just didn't work out so now they are in at night out during the day and they seem to accept that. I don't think of my dogs as kids - I have kids and I have dogs. I was raised that they are different, the dogs will be getting tennis balls from grandma for Christmas cause she has a 5 gallon bucket of those.

  7. They are Now home - and happy - Although Elvis does bite but I've had a stern talking to him about how we don't bite in this house. Stormy (the Cockatiel) has shared his advice to the newbies!

    :YAY:

I'm so excited to have them home

Thanks BusyBusyMom - hope everything was ok with your son!
