I hope you remember that if you ever have a job where this is the case. Because when she gets that raise ahead of you , or gets promoted ahead of you , or just spends all day doing nothing while your working your butt off you will see why this is not a great idea AT ALL and creates a really crappy work environment for everybody. Sorry, I got out of school at the end of the Carter administration when you couldn't even buy a job. If you had one better show up no matter what because someone was ready to take your spot. A company is not your mom or dad and has no obligation to pay you for anything other than your work. Not even " bereavement pay". However, if they pay unemployment insurance, they can lay you off for a week and allow you to collect unemployment.

I found it funny when one report surfaced that in greenland the ice was receding so far up the some mountains that it was revealing evidence of vegetation that had never been exposed before. Stumps of trees and other plants that had never been seen before now. Then the scientists went on to remark that we must do something now to reduce global warming. I can remember when I was small living in the country. We had "barn cats" to kill the mice. No animal pound back then. Every so often when the population got out of control my grandfather and I would load kittens in a feed sack with a couple of bricks and haul them to the old rock quarry for disposal.
