Thank you so much for the support. If you will call Kay this morning and give her your contact information we can put it in our system. We will have a better grip on who we can call for the items or support you decide to help with. 678-574-7605. Monday - Thursday 9 am to 5 pm.

We would like to start getting healthcare providers lined up for volunteer work (dentists, doctors, counselors). If you can mention this to them to plant the seed that would be great. Kay will be starting our list of helpers. Feel free to call her and get your name on the list. As progress is made we will email and post here for you to see. It will be a long process but we are so excited. 678-574-7605 Monday - Thursday 9am to 5 pm

I posted about this a few months ago and have been really praying and preparing for this with our friends and family. As most of you know my husband is a deputy here in Paulding. Many times he has come across families that need temporary shelter and food. We have pulled our resources and asked for help with this project from many of my business partners. At this time we have Covenant design group doing the arch. plans and drawings for permitting, we have plumbers, electricians and contractors that will donate time to build. I will post the space plan designs for all of you to see and comment on soon. I would welcome any thoughts, help, support ect... that pcommers have to offer. Please contact Kay at 678-574-7605 between 9 and 5 Monday - Thursday.
This shelter will be a shelter for men, women and families with separate areas for each. There will be a maximum of 30 day stays. During that time we hope to provide several services such as work skills training, parenting classes, education support, individual and family counseling as well as many other needs. We will have a clothes closet, food pantry and open cafeteria for meal time. All volunteers are needed once we build. We will be traveling to churches in the area to promote the shelter soon.
I will thank all of you in advance for your prayers and support!

Busymom, I am not going to down anyone on here as I have let my own personal feelings get too involved. Its so hard for me to see a child hurt. I am also hurting for the driver of the car. His mom has to be heartbroken for her son and well as the others. I am going to stop posting on this topic and just hope and pray for the families of all. I will try to keep the MOM in me quiet no matter what reports say. I love this site and the freedom it gives all of us to post and vent and express pain or sadness. I also recieve alot of support and want to give support not judgement. I know when I post about SWAT or PCSO I get alot of support when events are taking place. I don't want to see that end.
Prayers and support to all who are hurting.

Does anyone know if they still have the public pool? Do you have a contact #?
-
Sorry, if you thought I was harsh on the driver of the car, I was not meaning it that way my concern was that the family of the other 2 would really need our financial support if there was no insurance on the driver of the car. I am not sure how the insurance on the others would pick up. I was hoping that someone else knew which is why I posted the question. I read early on that they really were struggling and need as much support as possible.
-
I have heard that the driver of the car has passed also. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family. If this is not the case can someone please let us know so we continue praying for his recovery.

what church is taking the offering? We want to make sure we take a check to them in the morning.

drosser,
Husband said one child around 4 yrs old. Two adult males. One father of child and the driver of the other car. I agree with no more bickering as stated in all my posts we are praying for everyone involved in the accident and the families of the injured. As you can see by the photo on my post name having this type of small child fighting for his life is awful. Please encourage all adults to put their children in the back seat and in a child safety seat as long as they fit in it. It does not matter the age. It breaks our heart to see anyone injured in a accident. If we get any news on any of the injured I will try and post it.

Realizing this is none of my business, actually a LOT negative was said/shared with the general public plus you shared information that ONLY the Police was made privvy to...
that right there was/is enough to get my dander up. I would love to know who told you this information. And I wonder if they realize that you have shared this information on
PCOM. I never cease to be amazed with people and their actions and especially when it was so uneccesary. What goes around will come around!
Off my soapbox! Prayer to all the injured and their families. I am so sorry this has happened.
Fluffy, Public knowledge on driving info if you research it! How would you feel if it were your baby in the hospital? No negative on the story we are concerned for all involved. Just want everyone to pray for recovery for all involved. Remember this is public and you can have a soapbox to vent but no need to put others down or judge as I have not. We need to support them. If you read my comments you will see that I stated I am sure he was driving for good reason! That is support not judgement! Remember if you judge you also will be judged! "What goes around will come around!" as you stated.

Has anyone heard a report on the child? My husband is in class today and we would like to know how he is doing. It tore my husband up seeing them working on him last night. I would like to follow up and send support via flowers or $ to the family.
-
WOW sports mom. Maybe you know the real facts behind what I know and you are getting hostile due to the NO EXCUSE that alot of people feel. I was trying to be very discreet about the man driving the car and let his family know no matter what the reasons we are praying for them and him.
Send your email to the mom of the 4 yr old and see if she understands his reasoning for driving!
Before you attack a supporter check your facts and don't put anyone down for supporting both families. Nothing negative was said. I was supporting the reason which I don't know for him driving!
-
sportsmom, you are exactly right. That is why I put we do not know the circumstances behind him deciding to drive. People do things that are necessary and I am sure he got in the car to drive for a good reason. Losing control of the car is an accident and accidents are accidents. We are praying for all involved.
-
just a quick note to tell you the trauma this puts on our officers. My husband acame home last night very upset about the accident as most of you know we also have a 4 yr old. Someone in the car (who by law should not have been driving, I don't know the personal circumstance behind him deciding to drive when not allowed) hit the father and child. The child (4yrs old) I believe was in terrrible shape according to reports. He was in the front seat in a regular seat belt! Please listen to our state guidelines and put your children in a car seat in the rear of the auto! If the child was here maybe things would be different. I wish the best for both families. To our officers on the scene, we are very thankful for all that you do!

Thanks, Bones. I would love help with this. We just went to vote! Shelton is packed. I did get the message and hope we get land soon. I have partial drawings for the security house and will post them soon. Next will be the shelter itself. We did get the website name www.savinggraceshelter.com
I think we have a pcommer that will do the website layout for us. OMGosh! the tax application for non profit is long! I am tired of reading.
Keep the thread alive and at the top of the list we will need your support.
