To date only 2 bricks have been purchased. They both are my family and my business. I have heard that Colonial is purchasing one for the bank. I hope that some of the members here will show support by purchasing a brick or making a small donation. We are so excited about the meeting Tuesday. I hope to meet alot of pcommers there.

Just wanted to post a HUGE THANK YOU! to DTLangley for your help with the shelter. We are so excited to have you on board with us! I hope we will see alot of pcommers at the meeting on Tuesday the 13th at 1:30 pm at the senior center on Industrial Blvd. This will be the introduction to the shelter and the speech by DTLangley about how this would have helped if it was ready when he needed it! Thank you for the support. I am sure you will be covering the presentation on Tuesday. We will have the Chief of Police for Hiram speaking, Thomas will be speaking about homelessness and Jay and I will have a Q & A session. We will acknowledge the people that have offered services to the shelter such as the architects, builder, and the others who have offered help.

Bum, Thanks for the support. Please rally all of your friends and family for this project. We have to raise alot of $ to get the land and building complete. We need your support and the support of the entire county! What a wonderful project for our county to stand behind!

We are meeting with 2 land owners that have multiple areas we can choose from. The shelter is non profit and set up by Krista & Jay Szewczyk. We have put together a board of 9 to help make decisions for the shelter. I am a business owner here, my husband is a deputy, we have a student in college, banker, a solid source agent, CPA, we want a lawyer, school official and church official on the board. We have also asked a pcommer to head up fundraising(UNIONMOM) and she has agreed to help. We will be fundraising for the next 6 months to try for 2 million. We have the pdf plans for the shelter ready. We have had a builder, electrician, plumber, HVAC and trim person offer services for the shelter.
I want to make sure everyone is aware that we WILL NOT put the shelter too close to schools or subdivisions. We want to make sure it is in a central location for easy access but safe for everyone. We will be providing an on-site house that contains 4 studio style rooms for security officers. The house has a common living room, kitchen, dining room and loft area that they can share but still has private bathrooms and bed/office rooms 16 x 20 for each officer. They also have two laundry rooms. I think by having this on site it will eliminate the MUST ministry type issues.

Please visit the website to buy brick pavers that will be laid at the front of the shelter. We need all the support we can get. Go to the website at www.savinggraceshelter.com you can view the options for pavers. We have 4 x 8 brick pavers for families, 8 x 8 for pavers that state "In honor of ...." or "In memory of..." and we have 12 x 12 pavers that will allow you to add custom logos and business information. You can also make a donation through paypal if you like. The bank account is held at Colonial Bank. The fundraising funds are always open for public viewing.

The website is up and ready to take donations. We are going to be asking UNIONMOM to help head the fundraising for us. She is very dedicated as you can see by her postings on this subject. You will love her! She was in the Retail Spa area and it was 95.00 per hour. She said that if she had enough clients outside the spa she would charge less. I ran into her about 2 months ago and that is just what she did. She build her "at home" business and only charges $50.00 now. You cant beat it! She comes to you with all the stuff(including the table heater)! She is wonderful!

Call Shirley James. She will come to you and it is only $50.00 per hour. I know she is also running some specials for Valentines day. She works with another massage therapist also and will do couples. Her # is 770-974-4755 or her cell is 954-980-5901. You might have to leave a message if she is with a client. She is GREAT! She just left our house a few hours ago. I use her about once a week.

HELLO, so off subject! (really funny!, but off subject.) I want to know how they feel about the shelter. I am not sure if some of you are aware but the last time someone put in for a shelter in Paulding LOTS of people did not want it. I want to see if things have changed or how the people running for sheriff feel.
The shelter is for Families, women and men. The shelter has many services that will help the people that will need the short stay. We are hoping to control the unwated activities by having a on site security house which houses 4 security persons. This house has 4 seperate studio style wings and a common kitchen, dining room and living room. I will attach the plans asap.

Thanks for the great ideas. Kay will be writing them down and when we get the land donated we will start with calling those of you with the ideas and asking for help with the fund raising. We are so proud of Pcommers for putting your best foot forward on this project. It is long overdue!

Unionmom that would be awesome. We already have people calling with food that is non parishable and clothes. I would love to see a storage facility offer some temporary space to us!
Please remember we will need washers, dryers, furniture ect... as well.

I built that office and she is nothing but nice in every situation. I see alot of dentists and by far she out shines most of them. You can rest assured that your child will be treated as though it were her own! I hope you like the underwater theme of the office!
