  1. Thanks for your attitude, LPPT, whether it agrees with the way I think or not. Nevertheless, I have found that you agree, a lot, with the way I think! Not because you are attempting to get along with me, but because you have as magnificent an understanding as ivy does. Understanding others is a good thing, whether you agree with them or not. And, good may last in the form of evil, for a time. Much like Hitler, who was a wall paper hanger, thought times got good for him, because a lot of other people were saluting him with a Hi-Hitler. But, we know that that kind of good is actually evil.
  2. It's no secret that your reputation is what your cultural has decided for you. Reputation is good if you are concerned about your fellow citizens, but it may not be so good if you are concerned about your fellow man. If you love your fellow man, you don't have to act like a Roman just because you are in Rome. Loving your fellow man is not going along to get along, but more like rocking the boat in order to get your fellow man over a rock in the river of life. Pray to God, but row for the shore, and if a big rock is blocking you, rock the boat.
  3. You can certainly NOT judge a book by looking at its cover, ivy! People ware a social-mask like a book wares a cover, and a reasonable person must go beyond that mask to really know a person who wares a social-mask. Some book covers identify the subject matter, but it says nothing about the character of its author. You can learn a little bit about the author in the introduction pages, but that is only what the author wants you to know about him/her. You must read the book to really know the character of the author. That is still what you said, but it's in addition to what you mentioned.
  4. The obvious, PSD, is what a reasonable man can see while they are reaching for understanding! Being certain of reason may, in itself, be too certain of ones self-concept of reality.
  5. It takes reasonable people to understand reason, A&J!
  6. Johnny, Get Well Soon! I want to see you on the board when I come in here.
  7. I see that, at this time, there are about 50 hits on this post. Which is good. People don't have to respond, on a public forum, to the questions I ask. When I ask questions regarding your opinion of yourself, I don't expect that you should answer to me. Just reading what I have said is enough for me to be satisfied that some thought has beens sparked. If what I say is going to be of any value it will have to come from the thought provoking issues I get started. "We don't deal much in fact when we are contemplating ourselves." Mark Twain I get people to consider themselves instead
  8. My reputation might be, to some people, a selfish SOB. But, how is that going to affect my character. The answer is, it doesn't affect my character, but it might affect my reputation. Word gets around, in a cultural society, about a person's reputation. And, if your character is labeled "bad", than you get a "bad" reputation. I don't care one way or another, about the reputation I have. My character is all that matters. It seems, to me, that if we were all more concerned with our character, than we are with our reputation, our whole culture would be a better civilization.
  9. "Be more concerned with your character than your reputation, because your character is what you really are, while your reputation is merely what others think you are." John Wooden I am the way I am, and many people don't like me. I was the way I am, even before I read what John Wooden said. I know there are people who would prefer I would be more concerned about my reputation, because they certainly don't like my character. How would I be who I want to be, or do what I want to do, if I was more concerned with my reputation than I am with my character? A reasonable man would b
  10. Control of culture reminds me of the way a lot of us want to control American culture. If these people are able to control American culture than they are trying to control me. I like to control myself.
  11. Terry Jones was pastor of an 800 member church in Germany, but was kicked out for some reason. He has only 50 members in the the Florida church he is now pastor of. Is he trying to increase his followers, here in the U.S.? Is he a Nozi? Book burning was done by Nazi's were a campaign conducted by the authorities of Nazi Germany to ceremonially burn all books in Germany which did not correspond with Nazi ideology. Nationalist students burned upwards of 25,000 volumes of "un-German" books, presaging an era of state censorship and control of culture. The students marched in torch
  12. I'm a firm believer in my fellow citizens being aware of bamboozlers like these two Jone's, sob's. They might get more followers if the message has no way of getting out. Jim Jones killed 900 with his poison.
  13. Jim Jones was found dead, with a self inflicted gunshot to the head. He would not drink his own poison cocktail. I don't know about Terry Jones, maybe he does drinks his own poison. I hope he doesn't kill as many people with it.
  14. Here's another Jones. I wonder if they are related.
  15. Some People-Eaters have gone to school to learn how to be as effective as they possibly can in People-Eating, HR! It's not just an impulsive way of breaking silence for a People-Eater who has learned skills, and lies wait for people to eat. These People-Eaters earn a living off of Eating-People. It's not just a habit, it is their living.
  16. People, in this country, are bombarded with advertisement. It takes a lot of willpower our people to resist food ads. I can finish eating dinner, and sit down to watch my TV programs, and the ads will have me getting up and going to the refrigerator, or the cabinets. This in a Nation of consumers, and advertisers know it. I think if advertisers would advertise in Ethiopia, and allow them some credit cards on their land and tents, there would be some fatter people in Ethiopia.
  17. I burn my bushes, limbs, and trees that I cut down in my yard. And, I have started saving the splittable peaces for my winter firewood.
  18. Look What A Little Color Has Done For fear. I just love it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nQN0zcGWpcg
  19. Thanks, TC! I love it when a plan comes together. I wish I could join up with Judge Judy. The hair stands up on the back of her neck when she is ready to eat a bully for breakfast.
  20. It is. I don't deny that. I am a cannibal when it comes to People-Eaters. They think they are going to eat me, and that is the way I draw them into my casbah.
  21. It's a shame that she had to go through that. The woman that was tortured and raped, by Libyan government people, was something I was watching, on Anderson Cooper this evening. These government employees lined up to threaten, torture, and rape her. I turned it off because I couldn't bear what happened to her.
  22. That's right, TC! Staying away from them is not what I like to do, however! I eat bullies, for breakfast, and lunch. I was watching Judge Judy, the other day, and she sickled the tit out of me. She told a smart arse bully, that he was in her courtroom just at the right time, because she didn't eat breakfast yet, and she eats bullies for breakfast.
  23. Some people have trouble spotting one until they have invested too much of their time in a relationship with one. They even get used to the punishment they get. Sometimes a person will tell you, "YEAH, but it hurts so good."
  24. If you want to stand, up, speak out, and talk back to oppressors, it's important that you choose your battle. Oppressors will have you playing the game they are experts at, and unless you are also an expert in the game they like to play, YOU LOSE. Standing up, speaking out, and talking back is a good thing, sometimes. It's also a good idea to stay away from oppressors for the most part. But, you have to be prepared to stand up, speak out, and talk back, because you can't always avoid an oppressor. If you wish to come onto p.com and speak to others in a reasonable way, it can be diffic
