  1. We were driving through Paulding county last night after a Christmas party and had a few bags in the back of my husband's truck. One bag blew out of the truck and it contained three items that my 12 year old son got for Christmas: A white skateboarding helmet (out of the box) A helmet attachment mount for a Go Pro camera (still in package) A micro SD memory card (still in package) We drove from due west estates up 92 to crossroads (my husband laughed at me for not using Mt. Tabor) turned left and went to see the Christmas lights in Oliver Place (Felix family lights, they were amazing
  2. Is this a national thing or state wide? Certain counties?
  3. My husband was in Iraq for over a year (05/06) and that is ALL they showed on the news. I had to stop watching it altogether and just focus on his letters and (rare) phone calls. If I had continued to watch the news I would have gone crazy. I hope your nephew returns safely and soon.
  4. Thank you They are spoiled but they don't know it so we're good...
  5. That is very creepy. We can barely even get delivery people to come on our porch thanks to these two: , LOL. Maybe you should consider a couple of them.. :D
  6. 2 inductions, both vaginal deliveries. Both came very quickly, no time for epidural with my first. Once I started having painful contractions he was born within 45 min. I requested an epidural early on with my second and she came just as quickly. I think I pushed three times. Good luck with your delivery!
  7. This is absolutely ridiculous. I am so thankful for the school my children attend and the fact that I have never encountered such nonsense there. What about police officers? Are those inappropriate for school as well?
  8. How sweet! I sent my 4th grader to school with $20 for the book fair and he came home with one book. I asked him what he did with the rest of his money and he said his friend didn't have book fair money and he shared with him. It definitely makes your heart proud when the important messages get through to them.
  9. I apologize, I didn't realize that the first picture was just a c-section. It is totally normal and possible for the baby to be awake and able to grab the doctor's hand. I assumed the baby was actually having surgery in the womb, as in the second picture in which the mother is under general anesthesia, and the baby too.
  10. Different photos, same reality. A baby under anesthesia can't grab anything. If they were coherent, then imagine how painful the surgery would be. I still agree they are both amazing pictures and it is miraculous that surgeries can be performed in the womb. ETA: first pic is a c-section. Sorry, I assumed it was an in-the-womb surgery as in the second picture.
  11. This is an amazing photo and very touching but if you read up on it, it didn't exactly happen the way it appears. The mother and baby were obviously under anesthesia so the baby couldn't "grab" anything. The surgeon has been interviewed and said that the baby's hand sort of popped out and he gently tucked it back in. He also said that the photographer was the one who concocted the story about the baby grabbing the surgeon's finger. Also, the family lives somewhat locally and my friend went to church with them. The baby (a boy who is much older now) is doing wonderfully Here is a link
  12. My husband got SCUBA certified in Jamaica (I chickened out during the training) and he had the most amazing time! He would kill for a chance to dive the Great Barrier Reef! Keep it up and enjoy your trip!!
  13. Glad I saw this! I will make an effort to say "you're welcome" every time. I don't know why my natural response is usually "no problem".
