  1. I watched Brothers and Sisters also. I knew I couldn't be the only person watching these shows why do they keep taking them off. I guess we are in the minority. We loved Friday Night Lights and it ended too.
  2. If I heard correctly this is the last year for Desperate Housewives, if it is true we will miss it.
  3. NCIS - Los Angeles premiere is tonight at 9:00 on CBS.
  4. Pubby, I went and checked the box of the Panko breadcrumbs, see if this helps. 1/4 cup Serving size = 2.5 g Fat 0g Saturated fat 0g Trans fat 0 mg Cholesterol Sodium 50 mg Total Carbs 19g Sugars 1 g These are so good and are more "individual pieces" than fine ground bread crumbs. I posted the info. just in case staying away from bread was a dietary concern. It doesn't cover as completely as the finer ground bread crumbs do and it sure was good with the Swiss cheese.
  5. I was beginning to think it was a conspiracy by the hearing aid companies to make us all need their product.
  6. Good Grief, we are going deaf ! They are getting even louder. Now they want you to hear their stinking commercials through every room and on every level of your home. You have to watch them so you can turn the volume down or mute the tv and not miss what you are watching when the show comes back on. Chef Ramsey yells enough we don't need commercials trying to out yell the man. Do you need to run down to the garage and grab something from your car ? No problem, we don't want you to miss a commercial so we will make sure you still hear it. Gotta go potty ? Well, we have a
  7. Chicken Cordon Bleu Bonless skinless chicken breasts - pounded flat Deli sliced Black Forest ham slices Swiss cheese Panko bread crumbs Lay a slice of ham and swiss cheese on chicken and roll up, secure with toothpick. Brush with olive oil and roll in Panko bread crumbs. Bake at 350 degrees for 20-30 minutes Yum. I love Panko bread crumbs.
  8. Finally, do know that life and all that goes with it, including the literal instant that we exist on this plane of consciousness is both a earth-shatteringly magnificent miracle and about the most inconsequential thing imaginable. While those concepts seem mutually exclusive, understanding why they are not is the essence of the faith we have in God. Pubby, if you had a plus-minus thing at the bottom of your posts I would definately have given you a plus.
  9. Oh heck no ! I just came in from being on the back deck, it felt awesome and I'm in shorts. The only reason I came in was the misting rain.
  10. Happy Birthday, glad you are having a great day.
  11. I looked it up, here's a copy if anyone else wants it. Sounds good especially with the cheese in it. Yum. ------------------------------------------------------------------- Best-Ever Potato Soup Recipe 6 bacon strips, diced 3 cups cubed peeled potatoes 1 can (14-1/2 ounces) chicken broth 1 small carrot, grated 1/2 cup chopped onion 1 tablespoon dried parsley flakes 1/2 teaspoon each celery seed, salt and pepper 3 tablespoons all-purpose flour 3 cups 2% milk 8 ounces process cheese (Velveeta), cubed 2 green onions, thinly sliced, optional Directions In a large saucepan, co
  12. With the temp showing 77 for Monday I'm getting excited about fall bringing in winter so I can cook soups, stews and baked stuff again. It's just too danged hot to bake in the summer or eat soups, etc. What do you love to eat when it's cold outside ? My husband makes really good chicken and dumplings, I can't wait to cook roast in the oven instead of crock pot. I so look forward to drinking coffee mixed with hot chocolate out on the back deck. (sigh) I love fall.
  13. Please share your opinions and experiences with who you trust to take care of your furbabies. I want one that cares more about my animals than their wallet. PM if you would rather do that than put it on the board or if it's against a rule. Thanks in advance.
  14. That's good. I hope there are a lot of things going on behind the scenes that we don't hear about but make a big difference.
  15. If this is not already happening, I wish the Red Cross and anyone else available could get / borrow a refrigerated truck and take donations of food from the (beachfront) restaurants that are boarding up and leaving to donate to the shelters that are being set up. Looks like it would be better to donate than to lose it when the power goes out. I can't imagine cleaning up that mess after all is clear and people may be glad to have it if there are transit shutdowns and heavy flooding for several days afterward. I'm talking about states that have time and are just now preparing to evacuate not N
  16. Guy Fieri - Diners, Drive Ins and Dives - Food Network If we ever win the million - kazillion dollar lottery I want to travel the U.S eating at some of the places he does, watching this show makes me hungry. (Haungry) And visit the Neely BBQ place in Memphis, TN. Road Trip !!!! I'll stop by and pick you up but I'm afraid the diet would be busted wide open.
  17. We are having breakfast quiche (sausage, bacon, cheese, cherry tomatoes)and fresh fruit.
  18. So they are just trying to gather ingredients to prepare a nice meal for a hot date ? I'm going to put out signs "He ain't all that, move on to another yard".
  19. One worked on our dogwood tree awhile this evening taking small limbs and leaves, he's padding his "pad" for the winter. I'm thinking of cleaning out our hair brushes in the woods for them to use and maybe add a couple pieces of string. I've heard they use that stuff for nesting also. I'm ready to make peanut butter pinecones with bird seed.
