I glad you thought of me soooo much to call me names! Just like you I say it (or type it) as I see it!
-
I'll go with BeachBum on this, it was more of an editorial then any real info. No more then what's being posted in this thread. When you get real facts I would like to read them. I have my ideas of what's this about and the case is over 10 years old. If it is true, yes there will be a real powderkeg explosion!
-
I was with ya up till that point. But after that point you are right on the money! How much money was that again surpip? After reading it 10 times I still cannot remember that amount! Maybe you should copy and paste it into your signature?
-
I'm not amazed at all, I just consider the source.

Now Pubby, if I had posted something like that without a direct link back to the site, you would have removed my post. Would you kindly provide a link to your accusation? I would be interested to read it.

Not all sales taxes are SPLOST, so that arguement doesn't fly. I drive thru Hiram several times a day, at all times of the day. That story doesn't fly either. Well, except for the evening rush hour, but if you will learn a few of the side roads it's no problems even during ruush hour. It's thinking just like this that is part of the reasons we are in this mess. So what if it's a minor inconvience in your drive time, no one said you had to go to Hiram, Dallas has some great shops and eaten places too! But go ahead and keep supporting Cobb County and watch your property taxes in Pauld

It's too funny to read some of the comments on these types of topics. Everyone wants to blame someone else and will expend tremendous energy doing so! But if these same people would focus that energy towards fixing these problems, we would all be in much better shape! As you go about your daily life and travels, think about what you spend outside this County. How would that money be better served if you had spent that same money in the County you live in? Every time YOU go out to eat in Cobb or Douglas County, go to see a movie, purchased a car, bought groceries..... I could go on and on.

Well, I did go to school in Clayton County. Spelling was optional!

Oh, because of the airport, a new business has moved to Paulding County. A commuter airline company will be starting service from the Paulding Airport as soon as fuel services, hanger space and the terminal building are in place. This was announced in the paper last week. Oh wait, "good ole boys" cain't read. I guess a birdie told me about it!
-
Haha, now that's the funniest thing I've heard all week. If you would take a few minutes to do a little research before spewing such nonsense, you would see you are wrong on all counts. The county has been given state permits to draw water as needed (within set limits) from the creek bordering the development. And how is this airport a money pit? It's not even fully open yet! But I guess that since I spoke up you will consider me a "good ole boy"? I'm not, but I spend a lot of time attending meetings and talking to people about what and how things are being done around this County.
-
Well, with attitude like that I hope that company doesn't happen to read this! We have a 1 in 2 chance of them coming, and we are a lot closer to getting them here then we were 5 years ago!
-
Yes! I was in a meeting this morning with the president of the Paulding Chamber of Commerce this morning and she spoke about the airport. There has been some big moves behind the scenes I have not heard yet. Remember a few months back there was a lot of hoopla in pcom land about a French company landing at our airport? Then got a "police" escort around the County? Well I found out a little more about this company....... and they are big! They manufacture custom jet aircraft for executives all around the world, with a 2 year waiting list. These jets are $50 MILLION plus and we

D-Dawg replied to gpatt0n's topic in Paulding County NEWS
This is the very reason Paulding County is in the shape it is now. People have fought industry for far too long. The County is 20 years behind the rest of the metro area. You can be assured that if the airport doesn't kick off some industrial development soon, your property taxes will continue to go up and up! Each and every year! -

The vote was only about funding the airport thru a county issued bond, it had nothing to do with the actual building of the airport. The airport was never financed by a bond, so the vote worked as intended. -
So? Was there anything illegal about that?
-
Don't know anything about that, wasn't involved. As far as I know it was just a bunch rumors. But if it was true, they still could not vote in Paulding County.
-
I have lived in this County for over 20 years and a business owner for more then 10. I have been active in community affairs, Chamber of Commerce, and many other civic and community events for most of that time. Yes, I have come to know most of those that are in "high places". You could too if you get involved in the community. An equal number of the residents saw little to no increase in their taxes due to decreased values. ALL the tax increases were passed by a majority vote by the residents of this County. Maybe if more people had gotten involved to fight the tax increases, they may n

The airport terminal building is coming. The design has been or was close to being finalized last month. They are working on funding and a few other issues. You may thank our dear Governor for that delay! The County currently has 3 standing and operating industrial parks, 2 more under construction, 3 more planned. That is just what I have found out about. There may be more in the early stages of development. But you can have 10,000 industrial parks, but until someone wants to move or start their business here, they are just empty ground. I agree with you about , but it wasn't the

You have the right to disagree with me, as I have the right to disagree with you. You have removed yourself from the circle of activities, I have not. There is more going on then you know about, that hasn't been made public. If you will re-read my statement, I said that the "ground work" has been laid because of the hard work of the BOC. The new BOC will now have to pick up the ball and run with it, but they are years ahead of the process because those before them. I also said . You can look at it either way, I'm just stating facts. Sure there were mistakes made, what human do

So the airport, a national award winning industrial park project plan, 50+ acres added to Industrial Park North, 3 new office/industrial parks in development or in construction stages, and one of metro Atlanta's largest commercial developers currently looking for large tracts of land IN Paulding County to build something the size of Wildwood Office park, a complete lack of understanding of what needs to be done to bring industry to Paulding? Plus a major expansion of higher education? Come on surepip, you have got to do better then that! What more do you want? Granted, we are not where we
