I have just recently became aware through an acquaintance that the Board of Commissioners meeting that is videotaped by the county and presented for viewing on the Paulding County web site as well as Comcast channel 23 is indeed being censored prior to being offered to the public for review.
It appears that commission Chairman Austin has deliberately censored out certain portions of the county commission meetings that deal with citizens complaints on a variety of wide ranging items from the Commercialization of the airport, to the appointing of members to the airport authority, and the industrial building authority, as well as the general up keep of the parks and recreation areas.
Most recently the Commissioners meeting held on January 27, 2015 was heavily censored; here are the edited and unedited versions.

As a tax payer of this county I try to keep abreast of the things going on in the county that affect my well being and the well being of my family.
I am appalled at the idea that this commission Chairman has elected to portray on the Government web site, and the Comcast site a video of the commission meetings that in no way represents what was actually said and done during such meetings, And appeared to be edited to prevent the general public from becoming aware of what is really occurring within the county.
Some people like me, and my husband are unable to attend most of the commissioners meetings, and depended on the County government to provide an accurate video of the proceedings that occur during a commissioners meeting.
Since this video implies that this was the actual business conducted during the meeting, and tax dollars was spent to provide this video, you would think that important items would not be censored out of the production of this meeting
I sincerely hope that any future productions would not be censored. Commissioners, this is the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA and censorship is not a way of life here!!!!

You know CV - you're comments throughout this election cycle have been interesting,to say the least.
The language is very much that of some of the folks I know at the Republican Party.
And of course you are aware of the stink caused in February at the end of that election, and those that took issue to the language and postings of folks that disapproved of Mr. Stout winning because of the image of Paulding County that would be portrayed.
Well - at least those folks had the decency to post as themselves in an open environment where you knew who they are. You could go to them and discuss these issues if you wanted. It doesn't take a lot of guts to post here anonymously, calling names, talking negatively about candidates - when in fact you never have to show your true identity.
If you cared at all for improving conditions in Paulding County you would not have posted in the manner that you did on this site. It's as shameful and disgraceful as those comments others made in February.
Perhaps you should work with up and coming leaders to heal and grow the conservative movement, helping to encourage better choices among GOP candidates in the future.... instead of continuing to tear things apart.
Do you think Paulette will portray a good image for Paulding County?

You've obviously missed the innuendo, name-calling, falsehoods and outright lies posted. I don't think any of the Braddock supporters are willing to engage a certain few on here any longer. I'm certainly not. The election is 7 weeks away, yet they have been screaming debate for a month. Avery went so far as to post a "press release" (which created it's own falsehood).

Not insinuating anything Just stating a fact that Paulette voted for gyms, Theaters, as a priority over classrooms which meant that Paulette had to vote for a $125 million dollar school bond to provide the classrooms, These are facts, And this is not what a person running as a conservative should be voting for.
Heck Kim Cobb ® Defeated Paulette in 2008 by a landslide Using some of these very same facts to defeat her, Along with some of her business dealings, and other inappropriate actions!!!!

Sure did, Kim Cobb debated Paulette, and beat her in the debate, And went on to win by a landslide. Of course the debate was not the sole reason for the landslide, Paulette's voting record while serving on the school board was also a factor in the defeat, I am quite sure that the voters have not forgot this quickly?

Not implying that David should or should not endorse anyone. Although I think it's a little odd for the Chairman to openly support who should or shouldn't be on the board.
The problem with this is how he slams Beverly for public service/government work - especially since he's drawing a Gov't check now too. Very tasteless. And why? Because she questioned a decision. Would David say the same thing about someone that served in education or law enforcement or maintenance for the county for several years?
Beverly hasn't really sought out any "big name" endorsements - as I think her take on it is to represent the people in Post 2.
Otherwise I agree that each of us can support who we want. The problem with so many is that instead of SUPPORTING who they want the try to DISTORT who they don't want.
The problem I see is the Cochran campaign started all of the crap on another web site, And was immediately confronted with the un truths that was spewing from the Cochran supporters, And it continues today, Yet the original poster of the untruths has since posted a retraction on his site. Yes Beverly has sought out some Big name endorsements and she has failed to get them. I wonder why??
I admire David for standing up and speaking out for who he thinks is the best person for the job, And explaining his reasons why?
Heck it has not been that long ago since one of Beverly's supporters was on here Supporting Beverly, Collett, Anavitarte, And Paulette Which is okay with me/

And just what do you say is wrong with this endorsement, Hell, many people have endorsed various candidates, And supported them during campaigns, That is the way the political system works. You feel that Beverly is the best candidate, I feel that Todd is the best candidate, We support those candidates, What is the big deal, I am sure Beverly would of liked to had the endorsement from David, he made a decision to endorse Todd, So what!!!!

It would indeed be disheartening to learn that the last good ol' boys who got tossed out of office were really just the 'new' good ol' boys being replaced by the 'old' good old boys. You have the job experiences correct.
The issue is, how many cases really get prosecuted by our DA in this county. You think it would be fair to compare the number of cases prosecuted by DL to the number of cases defended by DD in the same amount of time? They are both courtroom experience. I would like to see those numbers...
(I know from being an opinionated client, read PITA, it takes as much managerial prowess to keep clients in line as it does subordinates.)
Who has the most experience in prosecuting cases, the numbers are irrelevant. I do not want a rookie prosecuting Child molesters, Murders, Rape cases etc. Do you?

Nothing hearsay in that post, It takes a majority of the commissioners to pass laws that affect every citizen in this County, I would like to know what they are campaigning about, Are they opposing the reservoir for instance, Or their plans to reduce the sheriff's budget as another instance, How do they plan to finance certain things in their platform that is visible on their web sites etc. all the more reason for a round table discussion on the issues excluding all the hearsay that is floating around.
Tony Crowe has campaigned on eliminating waste in the administration building and his employment with the county has given him a leg up on eliminating waste, what areas is Tony talking about? Is it the 911 area, Building and maintenance area, Tax office, Sheriff's office, Etc. I would like to hear some discussions on his ideas some may be pretty good, BUT……..I am not for cutting 911 or the Sheriff’s office.

I am just a bit curious with this question so don’t blast me too hard, I really am looking at the qualifications of these two Candidates It would appear on the surface that Drew Lane is the most Qualified since he has been prosecuting cases for some time and has shown the ability to manage employees. Has Dick Donovan ever prosecuted criminals, or has his practice consisted of Defending accused criminals. Just asking, ducking for cover now

Here are the two different flyers that were mailed out to post 4 constituents.
The first mailer clearly shows prejudice towards the Cedarcrest area which has Captions such as “VOTE TO GIVE OUR AREA A VOICE ON JULY 20TH!"
Another caption states "VOTE FOR OUR NEIGHBOR.REPUBLICAN JASON ANAVITARTE-OUR FUTURE DEPENDS ON IT"
The balance of the Cedarcrest flyer is pretty much self explanatory?
The flyer going to the rest of post 4 clearly gives the impression that the balance of post 4 has received all the representation through the years that was deserved with no mention about the other areas in post 4 being ignored by the County government.
Post 4 now is the time for new leadership that will represent all of the citizens in post 4 Please vote for David Barnett post 4 Commissioner

Censorship is wrong whether a person is liked or disliked. It is something that most communist countries do as well as some of the mid East countries.
Censorship has no place in the free world and must be stamped out wherever it occurs.
