How Come? If you are not for commercialising the Airport
WHITEY replied to surepip's topic in RECENT TOPICS
Yea I just read about another one of those "ripe Avenues" Do you really think the new amphitheater is going to draw that many rock stars flying into SCF ?? -
Thanks for the heads up on this new site.

Pubby I believe in every word that I spoke on this matter, Given the same circumstances I would say the same thing again. When I wrote the speech I was of the opinion that to get local legislation passed that it had to come through the Commissioners first. I sent all the Representatives from Paulding County an e-mail in regards to the issue that day Thursday. Senator Heath Responded twice and House Representative Kimberly Alexander responded twice. My own House Representative Paulette Braddock as well as the rest of the delegation from Paulding made no response. One even asked for

How Come? If you are not for commercialising the Airport

LPPT if you and PUBBY are counting on North Point to pull this off y'all are in another world -
Two problems here CPR first the SPLOST tax was sold as a fire station being built Along Highway 278 That was what the folks in the area voted for and that was what was told to voters, I know that some of theses authorities have a problem living up to promises but..... Politicians should live up to commitments. Secondly you and Pubby have been very adamant that the airport was going to be a very successful operation that is going to create 2,000 to 3,000 jobs in this area along with the 1,000,000 passengers that are going to be entering and exiting this narrow winding road heck traffic could

The Paulding County Airport Authority will be meeting tomorrow in the terminal building 2nd floor @9:00 AM The Industrial Building Authority will be meeting in the same place at 10:00 AM Come join us and see how your local governments deal with the many issues facing our county. There are some interesting items on the agenda to be discussed Hope to see you there

You forgot to mention the Convention center with the five star Hotel.
-
I know you left the BOC meeting early but their was some folks surprised that a county employee and a county attorney had the influence that they did to even get the ad ran for the intent to offer a change in the legislation. From what I am hearing this item has been withdrawn and no proposed change is going through at this time, Fact is it is not even on the Agenda of the IBA for tomorrow as stated in the BOC meeting.

And the property that the fire station was suppose to go on is the graded area right there at the entrance of the air port ALONG 278. Geesh yesterday you were saying OUT 278. You pro airport folks will say and do anything to confuse the public. It sure did not say along or adjoining airport drive. CPR the folks are smart enough to understand what is going on. Nice try but no cigar!!!

How Come? If you are not for commercialising the Airport

Pubby I said there were three jobs created the Other job was the FBO operator, Which was the only job mot paid for by the tax payers since both Blakes and the Secretaries jobs are budgeted and paid for from the general fund. You can spin this any way that you want, The facts are, supported by video tape that the airport was being built to create jobs. Furthermore the expansion of this airport is also being sold to the public as a job producing facility that is estimated to create between 2,000 and 3,000 AEROSPACE related field, Again this is supported by full page ads in the local papers -
Thank you so much for this honest, Heart felt post and I see you are aware of some of the many promises broken. A man should do what he campaigns on.
-
What is important to me is people need to do what they promised to do.... Of course you are okay with the fact that the County used imminent domain to take this property for the purpose of a fire station, and changed there mind and decided to use SPLOST dollars to build one atop of a hill where the SPLOST dollars would actually pay for the dirt needed for the overrun, Remember Blake talking on the video about actually making money for this little deal??? SHAME on you and everyone else for not spending SPLOST dollars as prescribed and voted on. A man word is his bond. Are you planning o

The airport is located at 730 Airport Parkway Dallas Ga. which is about 3/4 of a mile off 278 up a steep winding road where it would not be practical to even have a fire station for community fire protection.
-
Here is the language I found on the SPLOST tax as it relates to the fire Station and other related equipment for fire stations that can be spent using SPLOST funds. Can you tell me where you got your information. • Fire Station 12 (West Dallas along 278), 100’Platform Ladder, Aerial Truck, Station 13 Heck why would you locate a community fire station 3/4 of a mile up a steep hill being the only access in/ out, Particular since the property at the entrance of the airport is on Grade ALONG HIGHWAY 278?

How Come? If you are not for commercialising the Airport

The airport has been open and operating for six years this November, Please name me the jobs it has created. The Airport authority has remained mostly unchanged since 1/1/2009 again please show me the jobs.... Heck just show a plan that creates jobs. I am really interested in the plan the Chairman talks about that "will create 2,000 to 3,000 new jobs by attracting a variety of aerospace business near the airport"..... The ones that will "generate $350 million annually for the local economy" now those are the ones I talking about.... I saw this ad in the Paulding Neighbor with the chair -
This statement reminds me of the lawsuit that Cobb County got into as it relates to their SPLOST dollars that were misspent. Do know they were deemed to be in error. Here is our list.. http://www.examiner.com/article/paulding-county-splost-to-be-on-the-july-election-ballot

You can paint this picture anyway you like.. Facts are facts the MARTA station has already Been Planned, The 3rd army road exit and Dabbs bridge road extension to the airport has already been planned The West Paulding By pass toll road is already planned had a Town Hall type meeting on this a while back. Commissioners with a huge ego championed these projects. Just how do you propose all these folks you speak of get to the airport property To spend all this money you speak of. Are you proposing the strip of 278 from Dallas to Rockmart become as congested as Hiram?? -
Oh... I thought since you seem to have all the intricate details of how the airport project was going that you might be able to work out the details with the boss........? Do you have any idea why David does not want to talk about these issues in a open forum like the one held Friday... The "work session" of a commissioners meeting seems like a excellent venue to discuss items that are important to the tax payers of this County. I really liked the information that was divulged during this meeting.... I had no idea that the Tax payers provided the funding for the purchase of the land back
-
You have made a very good point, I will talk with other members of the PROTECT PAULDING COUNTY group ( https://www.facebook.com/protectpauldingcounty ) and see if they are agreeable to meeting with David at his office for a open discussion on all the issues surrounding the airport, IBA and the secret meetings. While I prefer to do this In a Town Hall type setting. If the video cameras were allowed I personally would not have a problem with this type meeting. Since it appears that you have some inside contact with the administration would you be agreeable to work out the logistics of such
-
So are you suggesting that when the Airport Authority proposed commercial flight we now have to have a fire station on site at the airport..... Since Fire stations are built using SPLOST dollars where was that spelled out when SPLOST was voted on????
-
MY MY how knowledgeable you are on the subject of the airport first the fire protection and now the EA.... Almost as it you were.......?
-
Care to explain that, I am quite sure you can back up this statement with evidence..... The airport ran five years with the closest fire station either in Dallas Station one or Yorkville.
-
David is not a dictator.... yet.... The offer for Town Hall type meetings includes all the commissioners, airport authority members and members of the IBA. Why would he want to exclude all the other folks and meet behind closed doors . He ran on a open, honest and transparent administration lets get on with the Town hall type meetings, Heck other elected officials are doing this right now and will continue to do so up to election day in may and November.
-
Got any Idea why he wants to meet behind closed doors Only, He had the chance to discuss some of the issues this past Friday and chose to be virtually speechless. David is the Chairman and has a lot of authority however it is best to discuss these matters openly with all the commissioners present. You saw what happened when a lawyer, county employee and David secretly talked about proposing a constitutional Amendment before it was even openly discussed with the IBA. Secret meetings always leads to bad deals being made. the peoples work should be done in a open, honest and transparent m
