Yall ain't old enough to remember when Elizabeth Taylor's husband, Michael Todd died, and that she and Debbie Reynolds were best friends. Eddie Fisher was married to Debbie and Elizabeth was sad and all alone after Todd's death. so Debbie being as naive as she was, sent Eddie to comfort Liz. The rest is history. Liz broke up her marriage and the two women didn't speak for years, but Eventually they both gave it up and were close again. I always knew Carrie belonged to Debbie and Eddie. I'm from that era. I remember reading Carrie's books "Surrender The Pink" And "Postcards from th

They will fire him once his case is settled and he goes back to work. I've seen it happen many times. And don't expect a huge sum. Only your lawyer will make sure he gets a fair settlement. You need to go ahead and file for SS disability now. And I can tell you in most cases it will be denied. But you can appeal. By this time you will need a lawyer. It's all part of the system. But a % of something is better than a % of nothing. And once you file and SS approves him, the payment goes back to the date you filed. As far as working, sometimes it is allowed depending o

It wouldn't hurt To check with his current Provider just To be sure you didn't miss anything. The deadline is December 7. I think.

FDA approves large-scale trials of ecstasy to treat PTSD
lowrider replied to Brian's topic in RECENT TOPICS
There are so many serotonin producing drugs without using something as dangerous as MDMA which has such a high potential for abuse and overdose, including death. I agree our Vets need treatment but not with MDMA. I saw plenty of folks using MDA back in the seventies and it's a scary thing to see. And it's illegal in most countries. It's a Schedule I in the US -

MDMA is a psychoactive drug with serious side effects including brain damage, organ damage and failure and death. It's not advised for medicinal use. It's strictly a recreational drug. From the article posted above: “It sends the message that this drug will help you solve your problems, when often it just creates problems,” Andrew Parrott, a psychologist at Swansea University in Wales, tells the Times. “This is a messy drug we know can do damage.” -
It's dropped to 61 here. We should be ok now.

A sweet volunteer let him take a shower at his cabin. (The station is standing but no hot water) Damian would take two showers a day if he could so he was WAY overdo for a shower and a good eye rinse! I'm so proud of these gentlemen and ladies working so hard. So proud of all the volunteers. All the donations. We are here working hard and so glad to be here helping and doing what we can for everyone at the shelter

My granny helped raise me. That's why I lived in Alabama on their farm for so long. She died when I was 38, 1988. Almost 30 years and not a day goes by that I don't think of her. We had a "connection". I may as well have lost my mother when I lost her.

Georgia Congressman to be named Secretary of Health & Human Services
lowrider replied to NewsJunky's topic in RECENT TOPICS
They may not try to change the ruling, but as a lot of republican governors have done is make it nearly impossible for a woman to get a safe aboortzion. Texas and Mississippi come to mind. There are other states, I just can't remember them right now. -

I know he is but I don't see them overturning RvW. They will just continue to make it harder for a woman to get a legal and safe aboortzion. -

If you're talking about aboortzion, I know what his stance is. I have a problem with the republicans trying to control women, their free choice and the ability to use birth control. I also don't think their nose should be in anyone's home or bedroom. I'm aware he and Pence are against gays but it comes with the territory. Hopefully they won't mess with either. I would still rather have a capitalist in the White House as opposed to a liberal socialist. Our economy and our future are at stake.
