  1. Heck, we don't even have sirens out here............but if they set them off just for a WATCH instead of a WARNING, then I'm glad we don't. Something really needs to be said about that. Who would you contact? And TWC is saying a tornado in Tuscaloosa and another in Birmingham.
  2. Does it send you audio alerts? I saw that one. Look at this one............the one Blondie mentioned. It has an audio alert. http://stormshieldapp.com/#
  3. They REALLY, REALLY, REALLY SHOULDN'T use the sirens unless there is an ACTUAL TORNADO SITED ON THE GROUND!!
  4. It's in Center Point, Gardendale and Trussville. I have cousins there.
  5. I'm fixing to put a tornado alert on my iphone. I think I'm going to download the one Blondie mentioned. Anyone else have one on their phone?
  6. Storm damage in Troupe county where the tornado was spotted. This storm is headed for Newnan. The weather channel is reporting tornados in Richland, MS with golf ball size hail.
  7. Glenn Burnes says tornado was sited in Coweeta County. Close to Newnan...........Carroll County is getting hit with rain Tornado warning for Coweeta and Troupe I knew it would be here before 10...........and this isn't even the worst of it. Super Cell thunderstorm in Carrollton
  8. That's good to know. You know I don't sleep when bad weather is coming through.
  9. Folks, please take this seriously. Tornados are in Mississippi now, there has been rotation spotted in Russellville, Alabama and we're expected to get bad weather between 10P - 12M..........closer to 10 according to Ken on FOX5. Turn your weather radio on and have candles ready.
  10. You can't forget this throwback https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l5aZJBLAu1E
  11. I LOVED DISCO! And I was the disco QUEEN!! Don't forget this one................ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_JoZS6LgqYI
  12. It was 1995 and I remember standing out on my deck looking at a HUGE white oak in my back yard that I had looked at so many times during storms wondering if it was going to come down. I just found it so strange that there was a hurricane coming this far north through Georgia. Sometime around midnight, we heard a huge thud and I thought what in the world was that. As soon as I opened my back door to the deck the smell hit me..........fresh dirt, It was an overpowering smell. Sure enough a hickory tree behing the oak came down and pushed the oak down. I walked out and looked at it an
  13. According to FOX5, tonight will be the worst for tornado activity. After dark, which I hate watching for storms after dark. Keep your weather radio on and be prepared. Hopefully it will all be for naught. Tomorrow and Wednesday will be the big rain days, hence the flood warning/watch. Tornados are nothing to play with. Stay safe!! Tornadoes kill 16 in Arkansas, 1 in Oklahoma "as the most powerful twister this year carved an 80-mile path of destruction through suburbs north of the state capital, killing at least 16 people."

That's what I was typing, when the topic was locked.. Thank you. And you can lock this one for all I care, but the beating of the dead horse had gone on long enough.

    Dear Pubby

You know, this is just one big pissing match. When Laurie posts on here, it's with her heart. I don't always agree with her, as I'm sure she doesn't me, but I see some of you, mostly the right- wing (gentle)men (for lack of a better word) on here slam her and even suggest she's either drinking or wonder what kind of drugs she's on. It's a low blow, regardless of where it's coming from.
  16. Use some Bein De Soleil 15 Orange Gelee and you won't burn and you might end up with a tan. I've got a tan today, and I used sunscreen when we went to the Square in Marietta. Lord, it was hot and crowded. I'm glad we went early because by the time we left at 2:00 you couldn't even get around in the streets and the lines were so long. We ate and the 4 YO got on all the jumpy things and we had a great time. Henry's from Acworth was there and it was so good.
  17. I've read for several years if you vacation at a resort in Mexico, by all means do not leave the compound.
  18. Thankfully I have enough Indian in me I tan easily. And I've done it all my life. And I've always done a lot of yard work. I always check myself and see the dermatogolist every year, I just couldn't imagine not being outside in the sunshine.
  19. Oh wow, sorry to hear that. Do you have a Vitamin D deficiency? Hope not. I love the sunshine!! It makes me feel so much better. Last year I went through some depression after my last surgery and I was low on vitamin D3. I started the supplements and even sat out in the sun when I could during January and February. I feel much better this year, thank goodness.
  20. Check you jasmine again. I went down today and I have new long vines growing from each one!!
  21. I did. We had a wonderful day working outside. We got the deck and furniture washed and the monster grill cleaned inside and out. Got the patio and furniture washed and put in place. Washed the pollen off the front porch and furniture. And got a dump truck load of mulch and got it spread (thanks to grandson and his friend for some $mula$ of course. It was a beautiful day. My husband even got my one wisteria planted and lo and behold, my jasmine has long sprounts from the bottom, so we left the rest of it. I even had time to go down and feed the fish and trim the rose bus
  22. I'm so glad they're making their way back home. Let us know when they are safe and sound with you!
