  1. I was at the Boy Scout store on Circle 75 back in August and they're building the new stadium right across the street.
  2. Thank God all we have to deal with is an airport to nowhere.
  3. What really bothers me in all of these videos is that no one, not one single kid came to the aid of the old man teacher or the old woman teacher. They all just sit there and laugh.
  4. Again I'm going to ask, what should have been done with the girl? Throw your hands up and walk away?
  5. I stand by Whirlpool. The set I've got is about 12 years old. Had Whirlpool before that for about 12 years. And I agree nothing is built to last anymore. I dread it when I have to get another set. The best set I ever had was real Kenmore and the set must have lasted 20 years.
  6. Thanks, I'm just surprised no one knows anyone that could use them. I also have a pair of boots. Size 12
  7. I'm so sorry to hear about a fire. And yes, it is scary. I know how hard y'all have worked on this house and I'm sorry to hear about the damage and displacement. Is there anyway to prove and sue Speed Queen, I assure you, I would if I could. Good luck and hotels suck after a week. Hopefully you'll get back in your home sooner than later.
  8. And you're right, they have always been nice. I remember when I used to see Mr. Watson all the time at the old courthouse.

  10. I think she's actually talking about the tag renewal folks at the courthouse.
  11. I don't know what to say. Well, I do, but I won't right now.
  12. From the article: "The student was being disruptive and refused to leave the classroom despite being told by a teacher and administrator to do so, Lott said, and that's when Fields was brought in Monday to remove her from the class. She again refused, and Fields told her she was under arrest, Lott said. She continued to refuse, and video shows the deputy flipping the teen backward and then throwing her across the room. At that point, Lott said, Fields did not use proper procedure." Tell me what should have been done..................
  13. Now you get it. Education will not change until The Department of Education is abolished and put back on the states. And even if that were to happen it would take another generation. This country is in a mess every which way you turn. Curriculum for profit. Testing for profit. And don't forget prison for profit.
  14. No. I'm not talking about poverty. It's parents raising irresponsible children who are now raising even more irresponsible children. Entitled! Entitled to whatever they want at whatever costs to others with NO regard to consequences. Attitude. Absolute disrespect.
  15. It's not poverty. I've seen it in the schools for years. It's entitled parents raising entitled children. And it just keeps getting worse.
  16. But you have a generation of parents that won't take responsibility. That's the problem and that's the really sad part.
  17. I can understand "donations" and special treatment. But I don't recall ever hearing about any of the private schools around the area having to call the police to handle the little darlings. Maybe I missed it.
  18. Darlington? Darlington is a private school. Private schools operate by their own rules and parents pay through the nose for their child to get an excellent education as well as college preparation. You won't find ghetto (attitude, not color) at a private school.
  19. RM, the schools have resource (police) officers at all the high schools. I forget if they're at middle school, it's been a few years. And yes, the police are called because no teacher or administrator is allowed to put their hands on a student. Law suit. And yes, the kids are out of control. PCHS is a good example. Rotation of principals for 6/7 years now and no results. The kids know they rule and so does administration. It's so sad because this is my kids and grandkids future. Think of the millinuminums that you know. Who can you see leading us into the future? My kids
  20. I couldn't even imagine being a teacher or administator in school now. They have absolutely no control, the immature students and their likewise immature, accept-no-responsibility parents, have all the control. And we wonder why our kids can't learn? Just give them another test. And this was over a cell phone? SMH Makes me want to yank her smart ass out of that chair. But hey, they're developing, let's coddle them.
  21. I don't have answers for the what ifs. They removed her by lawful force. Obviously the administrator couldn't. I don't know the whole story, what was her protest? Aren't there better ways of protesting? Was she disrupting the class? Folks now days don't even know how to accept responsibility for their actions. I understand there will be consequences for my defiant acts, even if I don't agree with it.
