Glad to know someone else who's been through this and happy to know that your grand-daughter is doing well. Autumn does not have any syndrome.

A few weeks ago I posted about my Grand-daughter Autumn who was born a heart defect (Transposition of the Great Arteries) and had surgery at 3days old. I'm happy to report that she was released from Egleston on January 9th and is doing great! Thank you to all for your thoughts and prayers.

I also remember this very well. I was 12yo and lived in downtown Dallas. I had just gotten home from school. Although I can't say I recall hearing the crash, I do recall hearing the sound of sirens from ambulances from everywhere that could get there. The sirens seemed to continue for hours. Strangely this additional defect was most helpful in her case, as it di

Anyway, I have a brand new baby grand-daughter.. born on 12/27 (a month early). A few weeks ago after a routine ultrasound a defect in her heart was found. The condition is known as Transposition of the Great Arteries. Basically the 2 main arteries in her heart, the aorta and pulmonary artery were in the exact reverse positions. In addition, she also had a hole in one of the chambers of her heart. We were told that within 1 week of her birth she would have t

Santa doesn't wrap at our house. Mom and Dad gifts are wrapped and under the tree before Christmas Eve. Santa leaves his unwrapped gifts under the tree, and of course he gets the credit for the "WOW" factor.
